(The Star) - Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak should go on leave until allegations about his involvement in the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu are cleared, said DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang.

In a statement issued, Lim said private investigator P. Balasubramaniam’s statutory declaration yesterday had “challenged the truth and veracity of various statements and denials by Najib”.

“Najib, as well as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, cannot allow Balasubramaniam’s statutory declaration to go unchallenged as it raises grave fundamental issues as to their fitness to hold high political offices.”

He added that the issues brought up by Balasubramaniam were of urgent public importance, which Parliament should take immediate cognisance by having an immediate debate.

It is only ethical, principled and gentlemanly if Najib takes a leave of absence as the DPM until he clears his name. With the powers of DPM he can move things to his advantage and we rakyat know that he will use his powers to deny natural justice.

So, Najib, please go on an extended leave. Malaysia will survive without you!

Yes, PM should grant leave to DPM, so the police can investigate properly. Is anyone holding back any vital evidence?

At first Najib said he had nothing to do with new allegations against DSAI. Then yesterday, he admitted meeting Saiful Bukhari Azlan a few days before he (Saiful) lodged a police report against DSAI. Ah ha! What else?

"go on leave"? The DPM, IGP & the AG should be suspended by now for fair trial. If the PM can't do it or not willing to do it then the Agong should step in to suspend this idiot.

hey people....

if anyone want to apply for government scholarship, you can directly apply at the TPM's office. there must be a special unit in the TPM's department that handles scholarships!

if anyone has been sexually abused (or specifically sodomized), you can go to the TPM's house to meet him directly. he will personally hear your problems and give you proper advice. it is part of his job scope/portfolio. his doors are always open!

on another note, even if the TPM takes leave, doesnt mean he cant make phone calls and continue to meet certain 'people'... at the very least all his privileges as TPM should be suspended...

The DPM, AG and IGP should be courages and step aside and let the true justice
be served. The whole wide world is looking at our behaviour .

DPM, AG, IGP should go on long leave. If not it would jeopardise
the investigation of the SD. Come on, the whole world is looking
at you, PM, do your part.

Back in 1998, slight indication of scandal, not even proven, yet the DPM was sacked on 24hour basis.
Now in 2008 things are a little different. even with so much proof, yet nothing have been done. Take a vacation is insufficient? Sack him.
