ALOR STAR: Kedah Pas is running the state government along instructions from the party leadership, Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak said.

He said the state government had never agreed to carry out policies that were practised in other states under the Pakatan Rakyat rule.

"I am aware that there was supposed to be conformity among the opposition-run states as the matter was brought up by leaders of the opposition parties after the March 8 general election.

"However, there was no entity or secretariat formed to coordinate the matter and I've never been informed of one.

"So, for the past three months, we have been running the state based on the advice and instructions of our party leaders in Kuala Lumpur," he said when asked if the state government was run based on a development blueprint meted out to all opposition-run states as agreed by the loose Pakatan Rakyat opposition coalition comprising Pas, the DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat.

Azizan said there was also no meeting on the proposed secretariat between him and his counterparts from Penang, Perak, Selangor and Kelantan.

"I don't think there is a secretariat. Maybe, the matter was just a wish announced by certain quarters. We never knew how things would be, but once we took charge, we realised what really needed to be done," he said.

On April 1, PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang and Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang met at the office of PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to discuss forming Pakatan Rakyat.

They also reached an understanding that all state governments under their control would conduct policies in accordance with those of Pakatan Rakyat.

A joint secretariat was also formed to develop and strengthen the structure and framework of Pakatan Rakyat. - NST

Well, even in Be End (BN) states, everyone has its policies, but here the logging problem was the one mentioned where PR promised environment protection. Need to consult more.

Pakatan Rakyat, sila buat post mortem. Jangan terlalu leka. Sama ada ini retorik atau tidak, Rakyat tidak mahu perselihan terjadi antara negeri PR.

Keluarkan satu garis/kiblat perjuangan yang telus dan mampu menyatukan DAp/PAS/PKR.

Ingat, kalian baru memerintah 100 hari, jangan terlalu leka.

Too early to form PR. Let each state runs its way according to own party directives. It may need a kind of coordination in subjects of common interests. Later, with already some experiences, they may decide on common guidelines.

I am kind of concerned on the direction PAS is taking in the past few weeks.
I sense as though there is a coordinated effort to undermine the strength of Pakatan Rakyat from within. Probably an effort by the Be Enders to convince PAS to "bertaubat" for the sake of Malay Unity and probably they worded it as Islam Supremacy!
I do hope all Pakatan Rakyat leaders can go back to discussion table and iron out all teething issues before it gets any worse.
The rakyat is looking forward to September 16 2008, so please PAS don't spoil it for us, for that matter, PKR and also DAP, please refrain from hitting at each others policies in public.
This is the best time to establish long term commitment with each other for the sake of all Malaysians!

I do agree with Azizan. Should not set any conformity for all PR states but if viable and good for the Rakyat, why not look into it and implement.

With such mentality, PAS has once again proven they have no commonsense and is the weakest link in the Pakatan Rakyat pack. This is the nature of religious-based party, they simply won't listen to others or to use their commonsense - since they feel, their actions are the ONLY ones guided by God.
