The police have recorded a statement from the wife of the deputy prime minister in connection with allegations by Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamarudin in his statutory declaration last Wednesday.
A special investigation team from the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman recorded a statement from Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor at her home on Monday.
Federal CID director Datuk Bakri Zinin said Rosmah gave her fullest cooperation to the investigating officers and he guaranteed a fair probe into the allegations.
"We have also recorded a statement from two other persons who were mentioned in the statutory declaration by Raja Petra, at their respective homes.
"We will have to look into various angles to study the case as the allegations were serious.
"Now, please let the police continue their investigations," he told Bernama when contacted here Wednesday.
He however, declined to comment whether Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi would be called to give his statement pertaining to the allegations.
Earlier in a press conference Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak denied that his wife, Rosmah, was involved in the killing of Mongolian translator Altantuya Shaariibuu as claimed by Raja Petra.
Raja Petra, who is also a blogger, in his statutory declaration alleged that Rosmah was among three individuals present at the scene when Altantuya, also a part-time model, was murdered on Oct 19, 2006.
He also further alleged that Abdullah, his son-in-law, Khairy Jamaluddin, and a Malay ruler were briefed on the matter and were fully aware of the allegations. - BERNAMA
