4.2%? Who are they trying to kid? Using the old economic staple of 'ceteris paribus', is it? Fuel prices rise 40%, but everything else remains same-same? Hah!

simple calculation.
fuel spending is 1/4 of my take home salary. so, 1/4 of 40% fuel price increase is 10%.
if i am one of those unfortunate few out there who earns ends meat, my spending power just got stumped by 10% on fuel alone. what about rising price of rice and electricity?
change lifestyle? work 3 jobs a day? sell wife and kids?
wtf. i say lets change gomen!

Inflation rate 5%? She must be joking!

When petrol price is increased by 40%, how do you expect the inflation rate will be 5%?

50% is a more reasonable figure.

I think the spike caused by the twin evils of increase in prices of oils & electricity will cause inflation to hit at least 8% not 4.3%. She is day dreaming & going by her past actions I can say that she don't deserve to be in the position. She got the position because of somebody somebody. That I can say.

MAGIC FIGURE. ???

Anyway the govt. statistic is always for the BN cronies to read and understand, If the rate din't go their way they can always find projects to retify their figures. definitely won't affect KJ,FIL will assist.

FOR THE POOR RAKYAT, their statistic is smple, earn 3,000.00 barely surviving in KL, after the petrol & Elect hike, left nothing in pocket. inflation rate up 150% per month. and NO MONEY to corrupt any officer. corruption down. summon UP, bankruptcy UP.

She meant inflation rate for the Gomen is 4.2%. Gomen revenue maintained, slary increment for civil servant increased by 4.2%, hence the inflasion rate is 4.2%.

What happen to " Zero inflasi" program?

Zeti, please wake up. Or the sleepy sickness from Pak Lah has got into you. You should fire the economist working under you. Good for nothing.

With many things prices increase 2,3,4 times, inflation expected increase only at 4.2%, it's the joke of the millennium.

Nonetheless, the inflation rate is still amongst the lowest compared to other developed nations, third world and within the region

Everywhere and everything the BN government put up distorted figures. No need to ask those buggers in Bank Negara. we know our spending well. 5 years ago we need to spend Rm 30.00 on food but today Rm 60.00 also not enough.. inflation is 100% not 4.2% stupid Bank Negara don't try to cheat us!! you ingat kita bodoh ke????

Well you expect to believe Zeti ? Any reliable independant source to verify her statement? Bullshit !!!! Behind that curtain , it can be many times worst on inflation rate in the coming times ahead after the recent hike in fuel price . Will be even worst if another fuel price hike which is expected to take place this Aug 08. I wont be surprise as anything is possible in Malaysia these day after the incapable stupid corrupted Bodowi took over.

Statistics lies!

read carefully, Zeti did not mention the comparative figure.

I presumed it is day to day increment of 4.2%, than it looks more realistic!

How will we progress and change life style when information given to us is confusing, inaccurate, and worst, distracting!

I only know that roti canai up from RM0.60 6 months back to RM1.00 before the petrol hike, and going to be like RM1.5 after the petrol hike? I am already kena roti canai everyday just to cover. So what now? My dear Bank Negara and BN Government!

Bank Negara releases cooked-up figures. If this basket is not helping the government, make another basket of goods. It will be alright. No public access to the basket. Moreover, the Stat dept is always there to help support lower or higher figures depending on whichever help the image of the government. Good show.
