I don't see why so much hoo ha is made over this issue. Very few will resign to follow Mahathir. Everyone knows he is a hasbeen and his only reason for doing this is to make sure one of his cronies is put in power so that he and his family are assured of protection from prosecution for all the misdeeds that he did to the people and country. Furthermore, he has nothing but his two balls to offer those whom he is trying to get to quit. They have the mentality that he so painstakingly created ie what is in it for me??

The current bunch in UMNO will sit tight and wait to plunder the country as they know their days are numbered. They know they will gain nothing from joining Mahathir. So, people, nothing extraordinary will happen and we should just start ignoring this racist bigot with an ego bigger than a bloody barn door. Let him sink into undignified oblivion. That is what he deserves. Nothing less.

Whoever takes over must remember what the people want. Even if the government can't help them, it's okay. Above all, they want a government which will not disturb them.

Umno and the BN disturb the people too much. Hence, it's not surprising they lost so badly in the last GE.

In Sabah, before 1985, Harris Salleh and Berjaya were a pain in the neck. Hence, the people got rid of them and voted for PBS. Earlier, Mustapha and Usno were a pain in the neck and the people got rid of them by voting for Berjaya. Harris only behaved himself during his first term. After that, the power got to his head and he ran amok.

Between Badawi and Mahathir, the latter disturbs the people too much. There are many who feel like strangling him to death.

I wish I could resign from UNMO and my reasons for my resignation would be:

a. UMNO does not represent the Malays nor the non Malays of this country. It represent the interest of those who holds power and wants to continue holding on to power. The Malays in general does not benefit.

b. The number of scandals involving those who holds power and from UMNO are just too many. How can leaders be involved in scandals.

c. Some convicted criminals are also UMNO members having power. How can this be?

d. Senior UMNO leaders holding the Keris and shouting for blood ! What kind of leader? Brings shame to UMNO.

e. One young turk in UMNO leadership cannot account for his suddenly acquired wealth. Many Malays cannot even continue paying for monthly house and car instalments. How can a jobless young leader buys over a listed company and have so many other business.

f. UMNO leaders lends support to MCA leaders who are not only corrupt but has their hands in so many business deals that ultimately requires government rescue. Are UMNO leaders in cahoots with MCA leaders?

g. UMNO leadership for last 30 years support a weak and selfish MIC leadership at the expense of the Indian community. This community has gone backwards instead of forward due to no opportunities being given to them and also being treated unfairly.

h. UMNO leaders who are also ministers holds multiple ministerial posts and neglect all of them at the expense of the Raayat.

I am sure there are better reasons to resign from UMNO than just being fed up!!

As this man so happily puts it in his letter, he is a "MANTAN" politician, i.e. one who no longer holds any posts (isn't it embrassing to even try to put an "ex" position in your letterheads? haha).

All those who have quit were also the same: all people without positions.
