My wife sells 20 packets of nasi lemak at rm1.00 each but she charges the other 5 family members including me only 50sen(tak boleh lah kasi free ni bisnes).There she earns rm22.50 per day. Then the price of nasi lemak has to be increased due to the price hike of rice and etc. so she has to sell at rm2.00 per packet but she still charge us the family members the old price of 50sen each and her earning is now rm42.50 for the 25 packets of her nasi lemak. She never says we eat the nasi lemak with subsidised price....the moral of the story is so simple if 10 years ago the petrol price was rm1.10/liter why must we pay rm1.92 now? Please tell someone in PETRONAS or the Government to come and see my wife how could she sell her nasi lemak at the old price to her sons and hubby but still making so much profits. Don't tell her last time the price of petrol was USD33/Brl but now at USD125/Brl lest she will tell you last time her grandmother also was a virgin!

Kerajaan kata subsidi minyak sudah meningkat, tak mampu tolong rakyat lagi. Tapi rakyat tak bodoh, inflasi subsidi untuk minyak jauh kurang dari inflasi keuntungan yang diperolehi oleh Petronas kerana kenaikan harga minyak ini.

Lagipun, harga minyak naik kerana nilai wang Amerika Syarikat turun, malahan nilai ringgit kita pula naik.

Kalau kerajaan tidak naikkan subsidi untuk mengekalkan harga minyak, ini bermakna kerajaan memberi Petronas "extra bonus" kerana keuntungan berlebihan daripada penjualan minyak dengan harga yang begitu tinggi sekali.

We always buy outdated ,used , discarded , crash prone ,technology with over inflated price that nobody wants, even our neighbour singapore have higher tech weaponary and would beats us hands down.

Just comparing the price of petrol between countries is not accurate and complete. One cannot go to work if he were to simply pay for the cost of the petrol; he needs a vehicle to travel to work and he needs to maintain the vehicle and pay other charges.

A fairer comparison is to compare the cost of travelling between countries. The cost of travelling will have to include:

1. toll charges,

2. amortisation of the vehicle's cost over the economic useful life of the vehicle,

3. the annual vehicle maintenance cost; and

4. road tax

If you analyse above carefully a huge chunk of the expenses goes to car amortisation cost and toll charges. Everyone who have travelled overseas knows for a fact that Malaysia has one of the highest number of tolls in the country and very high excise duties on cars.

Malaysia also has a cost of living standard lower than most developed or oil producing country. While the cost of owning a vehicle and travelling in other countries is a small fraction of their earned income, this is not so in Malaysia. If one were to compare the cost of petrol together with the abovementioned 4 travelling expenses in relation to the earned income, these expenses will amount to a large percentage of the earned income.

So if one were to factor in the above travelling expenses including petrol and the cost of living, Malaysia's cost of owning a vehicle will be among the highest in the world!

It simply does not make sense that the use of vehicle for travelling to work to earn revenue for the country would be sky-high comparatively for a country that is a net exporter of oil. Logic will tell you that a fisherman cannot have a same cost of fish as his neighbour who is a farmer.

The present UMNO regime has hoodwinked the citizens long enough by just comparing the petrol price with selective non-oil producing countries without taking into consideration the related travelling cost and the cost of living! Meanwhile, UMNO will be splurging the oil revenue on themselves by spending on themselves and on other less priortised projects.

Only the kampong folks may be duped by UMNO!

I used to travel from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur by MAS at RM386 between 1990-2000, the condition was must be a grouping ticket of at least 3 passengers.
Today with the same carrier company, we can get RM240 ticket offer by MAS RM0 ticket promotion recently!!! Even cheaper if you manage to grab the cheap sales offered by AIR ASIA….
What is his all about???
If our petroleum resources was not monopolized by PETRONAS, which is controlled by the UMNO cronies, then we get cheaper price of petroleum!

when i once been to the PETRONAS TWIN TOWER, i didn't get the chance to get the bird view from the sky-bridge...due to long queue....
I managed to view the video documentary about the tower, no pride for me instead i'm wondering could this building be constructed without the wealth obtained from petroleum?
The money should go for much much more things to deal with - education, economy, infrastructure...then we can become the real developed country in ten years time...
But now what remain is 3-4 years petroleum resource! TDM, you had robbed the wealth from our nation and now you still hold the post of advisor for PETRONAS, and being paid RM15,000 monthly, how shame you!

i had just returned from perth, australia. the tomyam mee there price at 10 dollars (=RM30), so expensive lah.
but their income is 10,000 dollars per month (part time student worker earned 13 dollars per hour)and their wages paid weekly...so no problem lah, can enjoy every thursday night!

The stupid Proton agenda has made the government impair the development of public transportation in Malaysia, we could say that the government sabotage public transportation coz the idiot mamak busuk Mahathir Pukimak want to screw Malaysian to buy damn failing,expensive and crappy Proton cars for his own ego as a dictator.Now that oil is expensive, we still dun have much choice, the only reliable public transportation in Malaysia is probably only in KL and Penang while other states and city have public transportation comparable to Burma.

Western countries(except US which is also addicted to oil like us) may be hard hit too but they have a choice to ditch cars and go for their efficient public transport system which consist large networks of High Speed Rail, metros and light rails.In Malaysia, public transport is not a priority, look at KTM Komuter, only 23 electric trains out of the original 60 running,so pathetic.And dun talk about the LRT, like sardine cans and the lines are ridiculously short, we need networks that cover large areasof Kuala Lumpur not 2 short lines and a bastard Malaysia-Japan monorail just for show.I have so far not heard any news about the LRT expansion, probably just day dream by our stupid Prime Minister Idiot Hadhari.Penang Monorail is also likely cancelled looking at how things go under the repressive Hadhari regime.

Malaysia is blessed with so much natural resources. For the past 50 years and with the current high prices of petroleum, natural resources such as palm oil, rubber, tin, aquaculture, forestry products, etc Malaysia’s coffer should be brimming with money. The money should have been used to build highways, schools for every race, reduce tariffs on cars including national cars, reduce prices of utilities, road taxes, personal income taxes, food, school fees, etc.

If our country’s finance had been well managed, we should have seen increases in the disposal incomes across all spectrums of the rakyat and in the appreciation of our Ringgit to at least RM 1 = Sing $1 due to the swell in our reserves. Under this well managed economic situation, say, each rakyat were to have a house, nice car, good schooling, adequate health care and RM10,000 balance in his pocket each month with an exchange rate RM1 = Sing $1, which rakyat would grouse with 20 cents increase in flour or 80 cent increase in petrol if subsidy is done away with and the prices were to float to market value?

Singapore which has no oil and natural resources would be a fine comparison of a well managed country and one which has gone to the dogs!

The citizens have had enough of the half-truth of UMNO! The citizens demand transparency on the accounts of Petronas and how were these revenue been used!

Petronas is not “bapa punya” of UMNO – it belongs to every citizens of Malaysia!

Some sources kata minyak Malaysia berkualiti tinggi dan dieksport. Minyak yang kita guna (domestik) adalah minyak import yg lebih rendah kualiti dan harga.

So, BN Govt bukan saja dapat untung jual minyak kat negara luar tetapi dapat untung tinggi jual minyak kualiti rendah dengan harga mahal.

Petrol price is cheaper in Malaysia than the richer country but a lot more expensive than the poor countries.

based on this, malaysia's ranking is only 20 cheapest ; compared to listed 170 countries.

Negara2 timur tengah adalah pengeluar terbesar minyak so they can put aside for local consumption.
Venezuella pun antara pengeluar minyak terbesar dunia.

Malaysian crude oil pun dah nak habis dan hanya utk eksport ( higher quality and used for other petroleum products - not produced for petrol/gasoline). yang masih banyak ialah Gas. So we still import petrol and subsidized heavily.

Therefore, it is not fair to compare Malaysia with these countries.

Swaziland is a small country, ultra low consumption compare to malaysia.
Seychelles is a small resort island.
Subang jaya probably have more roads and cars than these two country put together.
So these two countries could afford to heavily subsidized their petrol prices because the absolute figure is still very very low.

So, still not fair to compare to these two countries.

Maybe more comparable is our neighbors. Then our petrol is still cheaper.

Although malaysia is not a major oil producer, Petronas is making a mark in the international arena as top companies with investment asia and africa. this is unlike any of the middle east oil company where petronas having better reputation.

Semua orang merasai tekanan dengan kenaikan harga minyak. This is a world crisis we cannot ignore with no light at he end of the tunnel. Crude Oil prices is increasing like hell. today its $120 , when the government last announced the fuel increase, oil price price was around $50.

What are we complaining? The reality is a lot worst.... believe me
