Self Sufficient: the bad, the good and the ugly PDF Print

Dear Vineeth,

What values this blog posting trying to project? Singapore, Jews and beating around the rice fields? The most hilarous part is asking the pakcik teksi about the jew residents in Singapore ... ask la where to find the best nasi padang and lontong, I am certain the abang teksi can bring to Armenian Street where the synagogue is nearby the best Randezvous Hotel nasi padang. smilies/wink.gif

Agreed with Rasputin. The writer certain suffers from Jew-phobia. It made me laugh when I read the part of him asking about the Jew area in Singapore.

Because of the influence of the media and the side-minded speech by local politicians, majority of Malaysians especially Malays have developed a biased mindset towards Jew community. Sadly, most of these mindset is more towards negative side.

This is not a good sign. Lack of understanding among Malaysians towards the Jew could lead to anti-Semitism if not managed properly. In today's world, every nation is pursuing peace and equality among humanity. The sense of anti-Semitism is certainly a big NO NO.

Jews, just like anybody else, are just human-beings. They dont possess eight legs, or two heads.

They, however, generally speaking, are richer. BUT, knowing their history, one should not be surprised why they are rich.

There's no secret in getting rich, just like in any place all over the world. The Jews are hardworking, embrace knowledge, and importantly, they are very long-sighted, ie long term planning into future. But being hardworking, or knowlegdable, or smart, is this wrong? Certainly not.

I see Jews everyday. I dont feel uncomfortable at all. In fact one Jewish friend told me that she's terribly worried whenever travelling to Malaysia, because of the anti-Semitism sentiment in Malaysia.

Jews in Malaysia? But seeing the article posted by the author, generally Malaysians have never seen a Jew. The truth is, the Jews are Aussies, the Jews are British, the Jews are Americans, the Jews are Germans, Polish, French, bla bla bla even Arabs. I mean, just like any other Asians, or Africans, they are everywhere!

But in America, or UK, or Australia, or any other developed countries, do they identify themselves as Jew or as German? Do they see themselves as Israeli or Aussie? Mate, I see myself as Malaysian, not Chinese.

Do you have any idea how many Jews arrive in KLIA everyday? Is there no Jew in Malaysia? Of course there is! Many!

My opinion is that, this kind of sentiment should be taken more seriously, and the trend should not continue into being anti-Semitism.

Food is undoubtedly a basic need for man.
All animals need food to fill their stomachs to survive.
Human beings require mental food ( and spiritual food ), besides the food for the stomachs.
When you see all the sad things happening in Malaysia, you might suffer from mental sicknesses that make you having no appetite for whatever food!

Barangkali, Pak Lah sedar betapa parahnya negara bila rakyat bangkit memberontak bila perut rakyat sentiasa kosong. Orang lapar memang cepat marah. Tindakan Pak Lah menumpukan penambah baikan sektor pertanian memang patut dipuji.

Jangan salah anggap bila saya menyebut nama Lee Kuan Yew.
