Muhyiddin: I won't run

(NST) PETALING JAYA: Umno vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he had no intention to contest the two top posts in the party's election in December.

He said whatever statements he made before were to voice the views that he had gathered at grassroots level.

"I want to sincerely help the party and have no intention to compete for the top posts," he said after attending a two-hour meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Selangor Umno leaders yesterday.

Previously, Muhyiddin was reported as saying that Umno would fade away if immediate changes were not made to the leadership.

The international trade and industry minister had said the general election results showed the people's misgivings about the party leadership.

He had added that if changes were not made, the people would reject Barisan Nasional and Umno.

If you are really sincere to help the party, you dont just voice the views of the grassroots. You should lead.

But then again, UMNO people are known for making foolish statements.

dun show ur stupiditylah mudidden,if u dun run,somebody frm d bottom undercut u,than u cant shout at him and say:y u jump que?follow d ruleslah!

memang,memang betul,cakap orang,di UMNO ni,tak seorang pun yang cerdik dan pandai,ape boleh buat,semua di atas korap,orang yg pandai korap,baru boleh naik ke atas,hancorlah negara ini!

Does it matter if he run or don't run...same for AAB..does it matters. And Najib is too scandalised to run. If UMNO wants him..so be it. UMNO does not really understand that this is the best time to get rid of Najib and do a party cleansing act.

What is the point of running when Pak Lah is running again come December 2008?

He is smart for not running because he can forsee that UMNO will not be of any significance in the near future with a PM of this "chicken attitude".
