30,000 greet the king PDF Print
Sunday, 30 March 2008 13:47

The rakyat and members of political parties, including from the opposition, were out in full force yesterday to welcome the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at the Sultan Mahmud Airport.

The estimated 30,000-strong crowd created a massive traffic jam lasting nearly three hours from the Sultan Mahmud bridge to the airport, a distance of about 5km.

This was Tuanku Mizan's first visit to the state since the March 8 general election. He arrived with his son, Tengku Muhammad Ismail, who is the regent.

They were greeted by Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said, state assemblymen and heads of department.

Ahmad, who was at the centre of a controversy over his appointment as the menteri besar, will be sworn-in before the Regency Advisory Council at Istana Maziah today.

State Umno liaison secretary Datuk Rosol Wahid said all state assemblymen, except for former menteri besar Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, were expected to be present at the swearing-in ceremony.

"It is good to see people from all walks of life and members of all political parties coming out in full force to greet the king," said Rosol.

Pas state assemblyman for Kuala Terengganu, Syed Azman Syed Nawawi, said the people were united under the king's rule and he was glad that the controversy over the appointment of the menteri besar was over.

"The people have been waiting for a long time. Terengganu will be the last state to hold the swearing-in ceremony for the menteri besar," he said. - NST

Everybody loves the king in Terengganu and those that love the king also love PAS. This could be interpreted by the jeering crowd when somebody among the crowd hold UMNO banner. They were booed and told to go mampus! Those 22 culprits were also there..I wonder where they were during that time because if they appeared in front of the crowd, they would surely be booed as natang, natang, natang...(22 x)!!

I thought this Rosol guy and his 22 sycophants were more than willing to resign if their candidate was not made MB. All talk oni? And, worse, talk that is insulting and disrecpectful to the Sultan.

These people are a shame to the Malays. Forget their roots, all because of money and power.

I, Pencil - The Miracle of Freedom, Life story of a Lowly Lead Pencil

To summarize the philosophy of freedom and marvel a t the results, one must wonder at the mystery of the creation of so simple an item as a lead pencil. Here is a pencil’s story as told to one Leonard Read in 1958. The pencil’s official name is “Mongol 482.” Its many ingredients are assembled, fabricated, and finished in Eberhard Faber Pencil Company, Wilkes-Barre , Pennsylvania.

This should be read by all government and party leaders - past, present and future hopefuls.

First Bernama report only 10,000 turned up. Then the Star reported 25,000. Now the NST has 30,000.

What, are the lying MSM trying to outdo each other now by over reporting the real numbers? Man, how to trust the MSM when they don't even quote a reliable source for those numbers. No one taught these buggers Journalism 101, ah?

What a bunch of losers to work for the MSM.

The once complacent royal household is stamping their foot down to clamp on mismanagement of the country by BN in specific UMNO. The current YDPA is one that can think and is taking a proactive role in shaping the future direction of our country. Daulat Tuanku.

The sheer numbers of supporters that came to greet YDPA is testament to the paradigm shift of rakyat's support from an all time low during the 80s when the immunity of the Sultans and royalty was stripped.

Someone interview the 22 who cried, ranted and raved and pledged their support for the other would be menteri besar?
Are they putting their money where their mouths were ? Have they swallowed their words and now too choked to be coherent? Where is their honour ? if none, they should seriously consider their worth as assemblymen. Go cry away in the corner and spare us your tears.

you know why diff figure? Bernama reporter wait at kuala ibai and count from there, The Star reporter sit at petrol station near to sultan Mahmood bridge while NST reporter stuck near to airport. So the actual number must be 10k 25K 30k=65K. This is excluded Utusan reporter figure... smilies/grin.gif smilies/grin.gif smilies/grin.gif
