PENANG (March 19, 2008): Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has directed state secretary Datuk Jamaludin Hasan to investigate the "disappearance" of files from the offices of the executive councillors.

While the previous executive councillors had removed all the files from their offices, saying these were their own personal files, Lim said it must be established if these were official.

The newly appointed state executive councillors who moved into the vacated offices found the offices bare, without any official documents.

Some of the former executive councillors when contacted had alleged that they had been directed by Jamaludin to remove the files.

"According to Jamaludin, after the general election results were announced, he had called the former excos to vacate their offices but he did not ask them to remove all the official government documents.

"Jamaludin will investigate if the files were their own personal files or these were government documents," Lim said after chairing his maiden state executive council meeting today.

Lim said the new exco line-up also endorsed several decisions which had been made earlier.

These included the open tender system which Lim said would be implemented for all projects.

"Contracts below RM50,000 will be given out via draws by rotation while those above that amount will be by open tender. There will be a two-week period given for objections and if there are any objections received, the tender will be re evaluated.

"These include if there is proof of mala fide or even instances of bankruptcy," Lim added.

Saying that this will be implemented immediately, Lim said the state financial officer has been directed to speed up the implementation.

He also announced the setting up of a special committee to look into land alienation discrepancies headed by both the deputy chief ministers, Mohd Fairus Khairuddin and Prof Dr P.Ramasamy, and state executive councillor Phee Boon Poh.

"There are also some cases which are pending in court. We have to investigate this matter seriously and upon completion of investigations, the three will make the necessary recommendations.

"They will also come up with further guidelines on this," Lim added.

The executive councillors also endorsed several other announcements which have been made by the state government including:

> 1,465 KAFA (kursus asas fardu ain) religious teachers will receive a one-off payment of RM600 each. The ex-gratia payment will cost the state government RM879,000;

> summonses issued for parking and hawkers before March 11 will be waived;

> the Penang Global City Centre (PGCC) project has not received any approvals and no sale or promotion of the project should be carried out;

> efforts will be made to ensure a smooth transition of the Village Security and Development Committees in several areas where the activities have been halted. - THE SUN

A fox was tasked to guard the chickens, and now the chickens are gone, you want the fox to help you to find those chickens? What kind of logic is that???

LGE,
Expose the case in public, let the people condemned them.
Let the people be the judge.
Expose them in Malaysia-Today and Malaysia Kini. NOT MSM.
Can we trust the current state secretary; he should be the first suspect; since he was part of the caretake govt.
What we need to to feed him some laxative, and ask him to shit out the info or puke it out.
He should know everyhting under the previous administration.
He should have his own files (at least copies of it) - less his own files also missing...
Then ........ you know already ...

Look like we have OSA case if the Files were still classified as 'Sulit'.

Theft of public documents case under the Penal Code.

Auditor General Office & PAC will conduct State level audit of the previous Govt.

Syabas. Barisan Rakyat.

Well Penang1, that particular fox is responsible for the chickens alright. And since he is responsible, the hunter has the right to shoot the fox if he doesn't produce those chickens in due time.

I say that's good strategy.

Penang CM directs SS to probe 'missing' govt files
What files? What files? There’s been no files for a while
Most of BN’s transactions are based on “cash-and-carry”
Files and records are not that corruption and user friendly

Rampant looting is practiced blatantly nationwide
BN has at least 40 years’ of traditions on its side
So the standard procedure of burying all audit trails
Is hardwired into the BN’s administration at every scale

If these former excos are not brought to books
Then we will not know who are the real bad crooks
This matter must be pursue throughly in a very robust way
Else BN will assume that grand larceny is Semua-nua OK!

I know veryone are very religious.... (commendable)
No one wants to be a potrayed as a bad Muslim, Buddhist, Christian or Hindu ... etc ... All want to jaga air muka .....

I think the UMNO cronies must swear upon their Quran (which is sacred)
Start from PM, DPM, etc ... down to the previous exco Muslim members in the lost 5 state seats
....I bet, they won't .....

Other must swear upon their own religious books.
Bring in also MCA crooks - in transport, MIC crooks - JKR, make them declare and swear before their GODs they have been clean ....
.... I bet, they won't .....

What else can we do? These crooks have no more conscience ..!!!!!
They worship power, money and immorality.. they sold their souls and copnscience to them ....

The losers mock the new govt, they insults the Sultans choices ..
Anybody got better idea...
Only God can intervene ....

Same for PKR-DAP-PAS - we must ask them to hold accountability to GOD first
GODs as described in their Holy books, and not accoring to their own interpretation.
Second - PKR-DAP-PAS - must hold accountabilty to the Rakyat who voted them in.

Righteousness is of GOD ..
Without righteousness, a country will be destroyed .....
... mark these words. .....
