A Malaysian Economic Agenda PDF Print

We plan to implement new mechanisms to channel economic aid to the vast numbers of petty traders and small businessmen in Malay communities and ensure that educational opportunities, microcredit financing schemes, social and welfare services and other forms of economic relief are made available to the Malays.

A MALAYSIAN ECONOMIC AGENDA

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia - KeADILan’s Malaysian Economic Agenda is committed to the upliftment and betterment of the poor and marginalized Malays, Chinese and Indians, Ibans and Kadazans.  We have always stated that under our leadership the interests of the Malays will be protected and we remain committed to building a new system that is more just, more equitable and that ensures no one is left behind irrespective of race or religion.

We plan to implement new mechanisms to channel economic aid to the vast numbers of petty traders and small businessmen in Malay communities and ensure that educational opportunities, microcredit financing schemes, social and welfare services and other forms of economic relief are made available to the Malays.

I believe all Malaysians including the Malays are pleased with the mandate that was given to KeADILan on March 8th and they look forward to a government that is more accountable, fights corruption and delivers on its promises to promote economic growth and reduce poverty in all segments of society.

I am therefore deeply concerned with the attempt being made by certain elements to stoke the flames of racial hatred in the aftermath of the March 8th Malaysian elections.  We have reason to believe that this vicious campaign is being orchestrated by a small number of very wealthy Malays and UMNO leaders who are themselves guilty of squandering and abusing the NEP to enrich themselves and their cronies at the expense of the general public.  These people are now using the UMNO and government controlled media to incite fears among the Malays and deflect attention away from their electoral defeat and from UMNO’s historic failures to address the needs of all Malaysians including the poor and marginalised Malays.

I ask my fellow Malaysians to reject the desperate attempts by some UMNO members to salvage the remnants of a broken party by pandering to people’s fears and sowing divisions and disunity among the people of our nation.

We must remain united in support of a New Dawn for Malaysia.

Agenda Ekonomi Malaysia

Totally off topic - what happened to the UIA Prof's election survey results that said BN will get a huge mandate from the rakyat which was published just before the general elections?

Can someone please take a plank and whack this donkey on its head!

Can UIA please sack this idiot!

One wonder, if they even know how to do a survey or a study!

The rights of the Malays must be protected if malaysia is ever going to enjoy peace and prosperity and become a nation of progressive people. However the malays should not be spoon fed and spoiled like what the BN did to them. They must be thought to be self dependent and learn from their fellow malaysians.A race that totally depends on hand out from the govt will eventually become weak and vunerable.Thats not good for the country.A strong and economically healthy malay community is vital for the continous growth of our country. Please also stop throwing scrumps to the chinese and indians just to keep them quiet. That wont work either. They must be treated as part and parcel of the team in the decision making process where it matters. There are chinese and indians who are extremely capable and their part in nation building must not be denied.

To all our newly elected leaders, please dont go for Titles and to our rulers please dont give away titles to every and anyone. Or stop this practice all togather. Title has become so cheap. Hope Lim Guan Eng will still be Mr or Encik rather than Tan Sri or Mohamad Nizar just be Encik or retain his prestiges IR etc same goes to Rasiah, Prof Ramasamy...Just a thought
I fully support MEA proposed by DSAI. We have to look beyond the notion that one race is above the other races. We must help the poor and there should not be any poor malaysia. Why should there be, we have enough money, natural resource and manufacturing capability than most of our neibours, so why shoiuld there be any poor malaysia.

We talk abouy the rights of Malays, what anput the right of the Chinese, Indians. More impottant the righrs of the original inhabitants of this land. They have been so long be ignored. I have come into contch with a number of their leadership. They do not consider themselves as bumi, never have been and never will be.

Will all the branding of races, we have done nothing but prepetuate the colonial mentality that the Malays are civili servants, Chinese economics and Indians as labourers, Isn't it time we move on. A positive step in approaching this is to get rid of the race in all government application and ID card. If we areally resious, other than that it is just empty yak.

I believe that all M'sians - Malays, Chinese, Indians, etc, wish to live and work together harmoniously. After all, we're all M'sians. If we are asked to "return", we will be at a loss on "where to go?"

The results of this GE clearly indicate that all races have stood up. Stood up against the very ppl who demonise us, who hoodwink us, and who led us not to prosperity but poverty. We are all together but these "demons" seek to destabilize and pitting good M'sians against each other.

What then shall we do?.......We shall wipe them out in the next GE, and let whatever remnants of BN be the opposition; a role they fully deserve, and with nothing for them to oppose anyway!

The local/domestic economy will not pick up if there is fear and suspicion. Fear and suspicion is created by racial tension and crime. If criminals run riot, people fear to go out and relax, businesses are affected, ALL activities tone down, the domestic economy suffers. The same goes for racial tension. If people are unwilling to mix and just feel comfortable and relaxed in their neighbourhoods, towns and cities, then businesses are affected, investment is paltry and the domestic economy suffers

Offering loans is not enough if crime is rampant and there is fear and suspicion among the people. Businesses will just go bankrupt and the loans will not be repaid.

We must be a happy society without crime. hen people are relaxed and have lots of activities, then the domestic economy picks up automatically.

If people are divided by fear, suspicion and prejudice, then the central govt becomes more powerful, BIG businesses become more powerful, foreign investment becomes the economic choice for investments. foreign products enter homes more easily because, people are unwilling to go out and relax. People stay in their homes for security, relaxation and entertainment. Foreign movies and TV becomes the social activity of choice. the domestic economy suffers.

More fundamental changes must be made to Malaysia's education system, and economic goals before anything sustainable over the long term will emerge. Malaysians will have to learn to create value in all that they do, and that is the only way to raise TFP (Total Factor Productivity) which is featured in this equation:- Output (of Malaysia) = TFP x Input (of Malaysia)

So if TFP is close to 1 then our output is only about equal to our input and we would be very vulnerable to any upward pressure in the prices of our Inputs. We need to increase our TFP and this can only be done by creating genuine value. Take a lump of iron ore for e.g. It is only worth a few sen. Refine it and make nails out of it, and the same amount of iron would cost ringgits. If the iron was further refined and made into needles, it would be worth tens of ringgits, and if that same amount of iron was made into mainsprings for designer watches, it would be worth thousands of RM !!

That is what we need to do. The more value Malaysia creates in its exports, and even in creative trading, the higher the TFP goes and the more output is achieved with the same input !!!

We need to direct our mindset to this strategy and quickly !!!
