(Utusan Malaysia) - Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak berkata, kenyataan Naib Ketua Pemuda Gerakan, S. Paranjothy bahawa UMNO adalah punca kaum India terpinggir di negara ini adalah tidak berasas dan telah melanggar disiplin Barisan Nasional (BN).

Sehubungan itu Timbalan Perdana Menteri berkata, beliau menyerahkan kepada pucuk pimpinan parti Gerakan untuk tindakan sewajarnya terhadap Paranjothy.

“Saya percaya parti Gerakan tahu apa yang harus mereka lakukan, sebab dalam kita menghadapi tekanan pihak tertentu, kita tidak boleh berpecah sebagai satu keluarga politik, keluarga politik kita ialah Barisan Nasional,” katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita selepas melawat dan menyampaikan sumbangan kepada mangsa banjir di pusat pemindahan Kampung Pulau Manis, Tanjung Pulai dan Paloh Hinai, dekat sini hari ini.

Ditanya sama ada kenyataan itu menjejaskan hubungan antara UMNO dan Gerakan, Najib berkata: “Kita anggap ini pendapat peribadi dan bukan pendirian parti Gerakan.”

Najib yang juga Timbalan Presiden UMNO diminta mengulas dakwaan Paranjothy menerusi satu laman web bahawa UMNO merupakan salah satu punca mengapa kaum India terpinggir.

Dalam kenyataan balasnya, Naib Ketua Pemuda Gerakan itu berkata, beliau sedia menerima apa jua bentuk hukuman berikutan kenyataannya yang dilihat berbau perkauman.

Malah tegas Paranjothy, beliau tidak menyesal dengan tindakan itu kerana ia merupakan usahanya untuk meluahkan perasaan rakyat di peringkat akar umbi.

Ketua Pemuda UMNO, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein sebelum ini meminta Pemangku Gerakan, Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon bertindak tegas terhadap pemimpin muda parti itu kerana mengeluarkan kenyataan yang tidak berasas dan boleh merosakkan hubungan dalam BN.

Paranjothy has shown the moral courage that is sadly lacking in many of our BN parliamentarians.
He has chosen to stand up and voice out against injustice at the cost of his political career and perhaps his personal safety.

It is my hope that more BN parliamentarians will follow the courageous example and stand up for what is right.

Looks like anybody who talk in defense of the rakyat which contradicts the view of UMNO is against "Spirit of BN".
Please we don't need goats in Parliament or as our leaders who just follow the gembala even if he/she is leading them to the slaughter house.
They can't voice out in Parliament, can't voice out in media, can't voice out in street, so where should they voice out?

If you still can't accept it, you might as well change the name of Dewan Rakyat to Dewan Parti!

Why not you and Kerismudin just declare war on the Indians like the way you guys threatened the Chinese community? The Chinese questioned the Malay rights but now the Indians are seeking a level playing field as well. A bunch of cowards not daring to be racist prior to election but I bet once they somehow managed to achieve another mandate, they will threaten all the non-Bumiputera again. Any takers?

To what extend would the BN fellows keep to the UMNO rule.? UMNO seem to comment on everyother BN fellows who dont toe the line- so called BN spirit.except whatever the UMNO says nobody else should raise an issue.
What say NAjib when Rustum of Malacca said about PPP.Gerakan watch this. Even if you are dog be a dignified one.

If the BN's election promises are used as a yardstick for evaluating their performance over this issue, it's quite clear to see that they get an 'F' each for:

- Channels for participation

- Space for expression

If discipline means accepting the practices of racial injuries and attacks, standing by and tacitly supporting provocative behavior to instill fear and racial tension, insulting a person's religion, then we need to update the definition of discipline in the dictionary and in the understanding of the malaysian peoples.

Quite clearly the incumbent political parties by their loud silence and the continuity of such practices and behavior appear to be supporting such a definition. I guess we are now learning about a new definition of discipline. (my confusion is who exactly should be doing the re-learning?)

Wonder what the rakyat thinks of this definition, and what they demand from their governance ?
