(Bernama) -- After the arrest of former Perlis Mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin for conducting a religious class without authorisation, Shah Alam Member of Parliament Khalid Abdul Samad Thursday claimed that he too had been stripped of such certification on grounds that he had a previous criminal record.

Khalid also alleged that the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), which made the arrest on Mohd Asri in Gombak near here on Sunday, when questioned why his authorisation was revoked, failed to give a proper answer.

"According to them (Jais), my authorisation to preach was revoked because the police say I have a criminal record.

"When I asked them what crime I committed, they said they are not at liberty to tell because it is confidential," he said when debating the 2010 Budget at the Dewan Rakyat sitting here.

Khalid was detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) between 1987 and 1988. The act provides for detention without trial.

The sitting continues tomorrow.

I already said this about Christians....I've no authority on Islam but I've a little on Christianity.

Tan Koon Swan was jailed in Singapore... now preaches in KL

Tony Tiah convicted and fined by SC escaped jail sentence because negotiated now is a Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship itenarent preacher.

There are ex convicts, gangsters, prostitutes, corporate fraudsters, becoming preachers or pastors.

The Chritians accept them to preach because they claim GOD forgives them! How they came to such conclusions is something I never understand.

Even if I believe for a minute that GOD forgives them, how about the crimes, suffering and hurt they had cause on their victims? Have they publicly or privately make arrangements with all the victims and profusely ask for their forgiveness and apologized to them?

In the finale, it is each man for himself and God for everyone. If a victim never receives any compensation, apologies his hurt is deep and he may never reach GOD because of his hurt. The perpretator need to go and make things right with the fellow human victim before he can clain that he/she is born again and GOD has forgiven him!

Now, Tony Tiah need to make ammends for the losses investors like me suffered. He has not done so. I am still hurt emotionally and financially has not recovered and most likely never recover at all.

The Muslims have got it right I think...but the enforcement and selective prosecution is something I cannot comment.

The board of the local churches mostly consist of businessmen and professionals who themselves are tainted and advises the pastor. Look at Calvary and the whole story of deceit, lies, and more lies are told.

Calvary is a church case study for Harvard, Princeton and maybe Oxford.

It can happen in Malaysia, Singapore and maybe Batam...

Cheers man, wise up and look at things with the fear of the Lord Jesus in us and we Christians shall prevail in this land of unbelievers.

Chee

Isn't it quite an irony that Christians can forgive.

Why not meet Tony Tiah in person and say your piece and perhaps you will get your peace.

Indeed. churches are not perfect and many is still working out to be a better citizen , in a more humble way. At least they will admit that and not based on human rules that judges.

Issue certification first, check later and then revoke based on misinformation.

Is this the Muslim way as propogated by the holy books?
