Registrar's decision based on law, says PM PDF Print

(NST) - "This is how the ROS has interpreted the constitution of the party.

"The constitution is based on certain provisions which requires a two-thirds majority to remove anyone in MCA, whether appointed or elected.

"That is why the ROS said Dr Chua Soi Lek is still the deputy president.

"The same provision was also applied for Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat as president of MCA. The principle has to be uniform and cannot be in conflict," Najib said at a press conference at Parliament yesterday when asked to comment on the ruling that Dr Chua was legally the MCA deputy president.

The prime minister, however, stressed the latest development in the MCA was only part of the solution.

"It has to be legally correct. The second part of the solution has to be politically correct.

"The incumbent leader has to go down and engage the community.

"I have always emphasised that the solution has to be legally and politically correct." he said.

Najib explained that while MCA may have overcome its problem, it was now up to the leaders to go down to the ground and convince the Chinese community which they represent.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin advised leaders to set a cooling-off period to settle the acrimonious in-fighting within the party.

"It will take some time before the dissatisfaction settles down. But I believe the leaders will find a solution.

"Dr Chua met me this morning and I told him MCA leaders should look for a lasting solution," he said.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, meanwhile, defended the ROS' decision, saying that the ROS was prepared to defend its decision in court if the need arises.

He reiterated the Prime Minister's statement that the ROS decision was based on three main factors -- the country's laws, the Societies Act 1996 and the MCA constitution.

"Should the matter be taken to court, we, at the ministry, and ROS will explain and defend the decision," he said at Parliament.

That spells the end for Liow. The system has come back to bite him. His political masters have made it clear to him that there's no way the ROS will reverse it's decision. Serves you right, Liow. Now, are you going to defend the system, or are you going to say that even ROS (amongst so many others) is a tool controlled by UMNO? Come on, Liow, say something, and make you look more stupid

Urine (Liow) Tiong Lick (Lai) is history, dead and buried, the turncoat prick who would be king !! This is what happens to those who drool and covet power and peddles influence, and tries to wear shoes way too big for them.

Anyway, MCA is a dying party, and this has just prolonged its death somewhat. In Urine's hands, MCA would have perished before 2009 is done ! That may have been a better alternative overall !!

Well, the leadership off the whole circus has just SHIFTED THE GOAL POST BACK IN POSITION in favour of one who will be tasked to use arsenic to prevent the (so far) righteous president.

BUT to be "able" to be let off the hook for being the star actor in a propped up trap the mole that loves to burrow in another hole will definitely be more than innovative ....

"I SHALL USE ( whispering to the PM ).... to vapourise the president sooner than ASAP, Sir ! Then all your PKFZ burdens will be deleted and the life-less CPU will be downloaded into somewhere in NIRVANA, Sir !"

What actually is being said is that the MCA counsel that sacked Chuah has no power. Which means OTK and the CC abused their power. The delegates have no power . The delegates were taken for a ride . And ultimately, MCA constitution is nothing but a piece of paper. Very clear now who controls MCA.

What law, Mr Najib PM? Is there any law at all? Well said, words are cheap! I can also say it but I don't have power like u Sir. U have the power why don't u use it to good effect and restore the damage u have done by usurping power and resisting going back to the rakyat? Are u afraid?

What have you done in Perak? Did u apply the same legal principle there? Did u not GRAB power, mis-use the courts, the PDRM, oppress the people? IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK ON THIS ISSUE THAT IS IMPORTANT, IT'S THE NEGATIVE PUBLIC PERCEPTION OF U THAT MATTERS. AND ONLY U CAN SET THE RECOED STRAIGHT!

What use is it (Quotesmilies/smiley.gif if a man wins the whole world and suffers the loss of his soul?" - (unquote) The bible is pertinent until today!

Please don't double talk, be evasive and hypocritical. You know what a good leader should do, what good moral and ehtical qualities he must have as a pre-requisite to people trusting him and wanting to do business with him. Without trust, nothing works in this world.

Sir, we all hope u would be magnanimous, remorseful and honourable to undo the evil conspiracy that has unfolded in Perak so u will be remembered by posterity as a great statesman.. rather than one that is sneaky, shrewd, calculative, deceptive and manipulative without any sense of moral or ethics.

God help us, God help Malaysia!
