A frequently cited statistic from 2006 states that 70% of the 4.7 million Malaysians yet to register as voters are aged between 21 and 35 years.  Yet after the historic March 8 2008 General Elections, Malaysians saw the most number of young people elected into public office in a very long time.

Why should the youth take part in the democratic process of being Malaysian, and exerccise their right to vote? To help us see these issues better, we speak with Lee Khai Loon, who is organising the Youth for Change Carnival this Saturday (November 7) at One Utama to get more young Malaysians to register as voters.

On a related topic, PopIN recently went to The Annexe in Kuala Lumpur to ask the youth two very pressing national questions.  Check out their answers, heh:

1.  What do you think of when you hear the words "Generasi Reformasi"?  http://bit.ly/LV86H

2.  Siapa lagi cun - Rosmah or Najib?  http://bit.ly/RosmahorNajib
