(Bernama) -- Former Perlis mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin said he would take legal action against Malaysian Syarie Lawyers Association and Malaysian Islamic Development Training Institute (Ilim) assistant director Zamihan Mat Zain Al-Ghari for defaming him.

Mohd Asri said the association had ridiculed him in a memorandum dated Oct 12 to Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin while Zamizan had cast aspersions about his qualification.

"Zamizan alleged that I had falsified my bachelor's degree in syariah from Jordan University.

"He claimed that I majored in Arabic language and literature and not syariah. They had made serious allegations. This is too much," Mohd Asri told reporters after giving a talk at the Al-Qayyim Institute, Mengkuang here last night.

He urged the Islamic Development Department (Jakim) to clarify Zamizan's allegation as he (Zamizan) was its employee.

During the talk, Mohd Asri said his arrest by the Selangor Islamic Religious

Dr.Asri, go ahead by all means, nail those who defame you, those so-called Muslim followers who preach high and mighty about themselves. It is about time for our young and an upright Muslim scholar like Dr. Asri to teach these goons a lesson and to shovel them into the trash!

But what if they hide behind the Sultan(Mythical Guardian of Islam) and say its the SUltan that Instructed them....then you DERHAKA.....!!??...Is there an International Islamic Courts....perhaps muslim nation need to come up with one too!!....cos I want to bring some Grievances about the Mythical and Unethical acts of certain Sultan......

Who is funding these organisations? What useful role do they have in modern society? They are just parasitic and do not serve Islam one iota. There role is just to confuse the Malays.
