The Peoples' Parliament

Commentator Patriot drew my attention to blogger Hussein Abdul Hamid’s take on my post, ‘The end days of PKR in Sabah?’, and suggested I respond.

Patriot, here goes.

With regard to my source’s assertion that Anwar had, concerning the possibility of Jeffrey Kitingan being appointed Sabah PKR state chief, said,“No way in hell will I have Jeffrey as chief”, Hussein responded that he has known Anwar for over 50 years and has never known him to use the ‘H’ word.

Note here that Hussein does not say he was at that meeting and therefore confirms on first-hand evidence that Anwar did not use the ‘H’ word. His position is based on the reputation of Anwar, as known to Hussein.

Well I cannot claim to have known Anwar for that period of time, let alone any period to boast of, or count him as a friend, but I  will have to go along with Hussein and say I, too, have never, ever heard him utter the ‘H’ word.

Interestingly, though, Malaysiakini reported the day before yesterday that former Deputy Sabah PKR chief Daniel John Jambun had said : “We are disturbed that Anwar said that ‘there’s no way in hell that he would allow Jeffrey to be Sabah PKR state chief’. If it’s true, then PKR in Sabah is finished.”

Wonder if Jambun’s source is the same as mine?

Whatever, let’s assume that Jambun’s and my source, if indeed different, got it wrong or, worse yet, embellished their version of what happened.

No ‘H’ word, then.

Anwar merely said “No way will I have Jeffrey as chief”.

Now, as to why Anwar will not have Jeffrey as Sabah chief, Hussein alludes to Jeffrey’s detention under the ISA on suspicion of plotting to secede Sabah from Malaysia and having switched political parties many times, and then equates Jeffrey with Ibrahim Ali, the former being the ‘katak’ in Sabah and the latter the ‘katak’ in Semenanjung . “Why would anyone want Jeffrey to lead any team against UMNO?”, Hussein asks. Only a moron would trust Jeffrey, and Anwar is no moron, insists Hussein.

Let me respond to this by once again reproducing something I had said in my letter to Anwar last year.

“…most of my friends and I, like my sister, have long forgiven you for your involvement in the atrocities committed by Mahathir during his reign of destruction and pillage, even if only by association and your failure to dissociate with his regime.

But like you, we, too, have not forgotten.

Just as remembrance will serve you well, so too us.

Will we ever forget?

I cannot speak for the others, but for me, I think that is really up to you…

…Many times last year, I wrote in this blog that I wished you would give me a reason to trust you.

Whilst I have to be frank and tell you that I still do not trust you, three things have persuaded me to ‘take a chance’ “.

Most of us are not moronic enough to trust Anwar. We’re only prepared to take a chance with him.

Why should Sabahans, if they so choose, not be permitted take a chance with Jeffrey?

Jeffrey ISAed for plotting to secede Sabah from the federation?

Hussein needs to consider whether that might be the very reason why some in Sabah are prepared to take a chance with Jeffrey.

If Jeffrey did indeed plot to secede Sabah from the rest of Malaysia, he merely attempted what I would imagine a great many Sabahans wished they had the gall to do. In that sense, I suppose Jeffrey will go down in Sabah folklore as a hero, if he did in fact plot to do as is now suggested.

As for Jeffrey being a ‘katak’, I hope that Hussein has not forgotten Anwar’s role, with the use of ‘kataks’, in the 1994 displacement of PBS, which had won the state elections, paving the way for BN to form the state government. I know a great many Sabahans have not forgotten.

And was not Anwar’s drive to wrest the federal gvernment from BN last year founded on a great many ‘froggies’ getting onto his bandwagon?

I certainly hope that the reasons proffered by Hussein in his post as to why Jeffrey ought not to have been appointed as Sabah chief are his and his alone, and not Anwar’s. Were it otherwise, it would not be out of place for Jeffrey to eyeball Anwar and ask, “See ye the speck in mine eye and not the plank in thine own?”.

So much has been publish and said about Jeffery Kitingan. But the root of the matter here is knowing the actual chronology of events that took place prior to the appointment of Ahmad Thamrin as the new state chief.

My source in Kota Kinabalu I believe has more credit to the truth as compared to the doctored facts by Jeffery and his "supporters".The whole episode is Sabah PKR wanted a Sabahan to lead the state liaison committee and not from West Malaysia, irrespective if he comes with merits and willing to die for Sabahans.

Azmin Ali had made clear on the first day he presided his first meeting that he would NOT stay a minute longer as state chief once his able to consolidate and strengthen the party,"I would leave even tomorrow" were his words. During is short stint prior to his unceremonious departure,he had brought significant changes and funds to the state PKR.

The was a plot to remove Azmin by way of a memorandum, orchestrated by Jeffery saying that Sabahans only must lead PKR Sabah. This of course is something no one would dispute and rightfully so.Secret meetings were convene by division chiefs(18 as claim)to oust Azmin and replace him with Jeffery.

On the 22nd.Oct,Azmin convene a meeting with all the division chiefs in Kota Kinabalu. When the matter was put to the chiefs who should be the new state chief,NO one uttered a word. How Pathetic can this be?Finally all the state chiefs including Jeffery who was present unanimously agreed to leave it to the wisdom of the party President to decide who should be the new state chief. That being agreed, the party Supreme council met on the 25th.Oct to deliberate and decide the new chief who must be a Sabahan. As to Daniel John Jambun claiming to know the proceedings in the meeting on the 22nd.Oct,how did he know when he was not even present during the meeting? His statement as reported by Malaysiakini about Anwar and the high powered KDMTF meeting was totally denied by Daniel in the mainstream news media,so who is telling the truth here?

Jeffery who is also a Supreme Council member informed all the division chiefs and his supporters that he would attending the meeting and left for Kuala Lumpur.Ironically Jeffery stayed in his hotel room and did NOT attend the meeting, but inform his supporters he attended the meeting. Why lie?

The Supreme Council subsequently table the 2 names namely Ahmad Thamrin and Jeffery and unanimously agreed to appoint Sabahan Thamrin as the new chief.Isn't this what the main objective was all about?Jeffery was asked during the press conference at the meeting on the 22nd.Oct by a Star reporter,Datuk would you agree for the President to decide the new state chief?Jeffery answer was,"Yes I will abide by the Presidents decision",why the reverse turn around now?

So the whole fiasco is not about a Sabahan leading the state,it's all about Jeffery Kitingan WANTING TO LEAD THE STATE.This is all too familiar of Jeffery's modus operandi during his wrath for power when he was with PBS,AKAR and PBRS.

He has now resign as Vice-President but maintains his ordinary membership, what does this mean?He has claimed that he has lost confidence in the leadership of PKR,but still remains as a member. The PKR leadership should respect Jeffery's desire to resign as VP.They should admire his inability to perform but remaining as an ordinary member to serve the party.God Bless Him.

Jeffery's days of hoodwinking the people and trying to gain sympathy from them are over.As a VP,there was every possibility that he could have made history by becoming the first DPM of Malaysia when PR forms the next government. But he had chosen to downgrade himself by just merely wanting to be the state chief. And he calls himself a Harvard grad.

Good luck to you Jeffery Kitingan.PKR will be stronger in Sabah and the people will continue to be behind the party.

Many who have had the opportunity to have conversed with Anwar in both formal and informal situations will readily vouch that such expressions as ..' NO WAY IN HELL WILL I HAVE ..'.have never been part of his refined and courteous language. It is not in keeping with his gentlemanly behaviour and character.

For all the justified anger and hatred towards all the SODOMY I MASTERMIND AND THE CONSPIRATORS ,we have yet to hear ANWAR use any unpolished and uncouth swear words to degrade or curse them,..Therein lies the DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIM AND THEM.

Najib or Anwar, you looked the opposite on the outside but actually you share the same ideology inside on sabah and sarawak! u and your predecessors wish to be in power forever and and expect sabah and sarawak tied on the nose following your every will but propagating to the rakyat nonsense as if that it is democracy!

Anwar, most of us have still not forgotten 1994. I voted for your party last year because i want the welfare and rights of non-muslim natives of sabah to be better instead of becoming 2nd rated bumiputera with the newly made Muslim bumiputera from indonesia and philipines being made superior than us! we still remember Anwar, u were one of the mastermind to get these newlymade bumiputeras outnumber us!

Native Sabahans, open up your eyes! Do you think these politicians really do care about us? Even our own KDM politicians are putting up a show pretending to care for us but actually racing among themselves who has a bigger car or bigger house and who can send their children to oversea for studies! Whilst we the ordinary natives have to slug it out to make a living as if we are not sons of the soil of Sabah, the naturally rich state but the abundance of natural richness are being sucked by people who were not from this state.

Native Sabahans, do not trust these politicians, we want a better future for our childrens. That is the best legacy we can leave after God calls us. We have to be united if we want a better future for our people.

And i dont care come next election i will vote for someone who dares to speak for our rights and and will vote for him/her just to get BN lose. BN has been in power too long and have done irreversible damage to our people.

PKR Sabah is no longer in my books, u will not get my vote again. It is probably better to vote for DAP or SAPP.

The spotlight has very much been on Sabah PKR lately and the news coming out of there is pretty negative. I would therefore like to share with readers some positive news from Sarawak PKR via this link (Baru Bian's press statement):

Even before PKR can gain a foothold in Sabah, their leaders are fighting each other!
Anwar seems unable to exercise any political leadership on the issue.

Katak or not. If majority of PKR Sabahan members want Jeffrey then should have the right to select their own leader. Just like USA politic, where some republican elite might not like Sarah Palin yet most ordinary members want her to run for Vice President. We need to let the people make their own decision.

If Sabahan want seccession then they should be allowed. Why? Because we fuc#ked their states up so much that a lot of immigrants from other countries allowed to get citizenship! Also, we didn't fully developed their states too. Thus, we need to let Sabahan makes their own decision. This is a democratic country and it's not a dictator type of country! Thus, PKR is not Anwar's party. PKR is our party. We rely too much on Pakatan Rakyat. Thus, if most Sabahan members want Jeffrey then Anwar needs to select him then. Once again, PKR members elect their own leaders and PKR is not Anwar POLITICAL PARTY! PKR BELONG TO US!

In pursuit of the much cherished 2-party system, we suddenly feel at a loss what to do with this latest Sabah PKR episode.

Then, the light bulb came on ... at least for me ..... why must it be PKR that runs the show in Sabah? Why not the other component party, DAP? If we are talking of Pakatan, aren't the DAP part of Pakatan too? If SABAH PKR is having problems that cannot be resolved amicably and soon enough, why not the Pakatan focus its resources in beefing up the DAP representation in Sabah? Or for that matter help another or any Sabahan party do the same job .... which is to wrest back control of Sabah state from UMNO(BN)..... and by extension, the federal govt.

Let us not fail to see the forest for the trees. We need Sabah & Sarawak if we, the right-minded AnakBangsaMalaysia, are to realize our dream of changing the federal govt. If PKR cannot be the one to lead us in Sabah, it is okay to have someone else. As long as that someone else or some other party is one that is aligned to our aspirations. And one that is not a frog in disguise.

So, think about it. Why do we assume that PKR must be the rep party in Sabah? Why can't it be another party, as long as they can be part of the Pakatan, and for the Pakatan.

I'd even dare to venture that perhaps the birth of the Third Force takes place in Sabah, and then spread to Semenanjung. Not necessarily has to be the other way. Sabahans, albeit all their state patriotism & idiosyncrasies, are basically ABM too vis-a-vis UMNO(BN) racist policies.

It's time for Malaysian of all races that truly believe on democracy needs to let all political leaders not to think like a dictator. The success of PKR is too important for us and we can't let Anwar or anybody destroy this party. We want a non-abusive government, non-racist government, non-corrupted government, etc. I hope PKR leaders can fix this problem. I donate to PKR and I'm very very piss with Anwar on handling Sabah. Sabah belong to Sabahan and he needs to let Sabahan member determine their own destiny!

What's wrong with the H word. Every Tom, Dick, Ah Chong, and Ahmad I know uses it. At least Anwar did not use the F word which every Tom, Dick, Ah Chong, and Ahmad uses.
