Nik Aziz crafts an ultimatum for PAS PDF Print

(The Malaysian Insider) - Even in a season where reform has become the most hackneyed word in the politician’s lexicon, Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat’s gambit in calling for an extraordinary general meeting for PAS has perhaps gone the furthest in defining the Malaysian political spectrum.

By proposing an EGM the PAS spiritual leader is effectively calling for fresh polls to weed out “problematic leaders”, his euphemism for the conservative spine of the party whom he feels are not totally committed to the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalition.

Ultimately, he is pushing for PAS to be clear once-and-for-all about its agenda and where it stands.

In doing so, the Kelantan Mentri Besar is pushing forward a proposal which is more substantive than the festival of rhetoric at the recent Umno general assembly.

Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak spoke of inclusiveness. Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin urged the Malays to end their siege mentality.

But neither leader’s speeches are likely to change what their party’s rank and file think about the concept of Ketuanan Melayu, or Malay Supremacy, or even money politics, the party’s euphemism for vote-buying.

It will not be plain sailing though for Nik Aziz in his campaign for an EGM.

Party leaders have been cautious in their response to the proposal.

They have pointed out that it would be up to the Majlis Syura Ulama or the Religious Scholars Consultative Council to decide whether it is necessary to hold a special muktamar.

The party’s powerful Syura council is led by Nik Aziz (picture) and most members of the central committee are also part of the council.

It is clear from ground reports that there is tension between the young progressive elements and the conservative school.

Much earlier, a few months back, I had written at least three comments about how the Unity Men (aka Hadi's men) had conspired to work a so-called unity plan with UMNO. The initial meetings were made in secrecy in Selangor and Perak. That's what my PAS friends told me.

Then, two morons viz. fendyoasis and maisur; probably cyber henchmen for the Hadi group, blasted me for being one of those people who 'bad-mouthed' Hadi. They also issued thinly veiled threats about my IP being logged (which yes, probably by malaysia-today, but none of those two idiots' business anyway)and told me to emigrate.

maisur then proceeded to bad-mouth Raja Petra, calling him pseudo Islamic liberalist or something to that effect.

Why am I writing about all this? Well, its to let everyone know, that in all likelihood, the Hadi group is probably organizing themselves to cover all fronts, including cyberspace - which they know is where the real battle for the hearts and minds of the people will be fought.

Lets be very clear about this group...they are not about Bangsa Malaysia, they are not about an Islamic State (thats just an instrument for their power grab), they are just about greed for power and all the trappings which comes with it.

They are just an avatar of UMNO.

Hence, I hope, together with my friends in PAS, that Tok Guru will prevail.

He will provide the leadership which Pakatan lacks sorely.

...currently there are two political maestros in Malaysia,
one retired, the other is old.

No Anwar doesn't even come close.

TGNA knows what he is talking about, and usually he doesn't mince his words like he is doing now. He should just say it out loud, Hadi and Gang are wanted in the PR.

Nabi Muhammad (PBUH)signed packs and treaties with tribes amongst the Persians Jews Arabs with a whole lot of ex-pats from the continent to establish nationhood not a "Malay" ops! Arabic state. He was a unifier where there was need for unity.
Call it what you want Nassar& Had's PAS is for racial superiority and the injustices inequality and corruption thus the consequences thereof means nothing to them.
