Shafie threatens to sue Tian Chua

Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Shafie Apdal today threatened to sue Batu member of parliament (MP) Tian Chua over allegations that the former and his associates had received kickbacks from contractors in exchange for contracts.

When met by reporters in parliament's lobby, Shafie denied the allegations, calling them "ridiculous and untrue".

"Can he (Chua) prove that? If he can prove that, bring it to me. If he can't prove that, I will sue him," said Shafie, who is Semporna MP.

Asked if he would lodge a police report, the Umno vice-president said he would refer the matter to his lawyers before making a decision.

Chua, who is PKR's strategy director, made the allegations in a press conference today, claiming that Shafie, Shafie's brother and three others had acted as brokers to award projects to contractors who were willing to pay some 15% to 20% in commission.

In a statement, Chua also named nine contractors who were allegedly involved in bids for contracts related to a rural electricity supply project in East Malaysia.

It is no secret. There are a couple of chinese contractors/lobbyists hanging around Shafie's office almost everyday. They treat it like their own office. My friend is Shafie's Political Secretary, so I got to know this information first hand. Not even a single NEP-protected bumiputra contractor can get through Shafie's ministry except as a proxy. Trust me, there is no evidence that can link these allegations to Shafie Apdal. He's not that stupid. Who said NEP is to serve the malays? It's there to serve the bourgeois!!

Ah, another suit! Or threat of a suit by an UMNOputra! I wait with abated breath to see it filed! This si all they will say about an allegation. Then both sides will keep quiet and nothing will happen.

What's there to prove?? Sue him immediately if you are 100% certain that there was never any corruptive practices undertaken by you....because you should know for certain!

It's only those with guilty conscience and who are not sure what the other party has as evidences that will resort to threatening to sue if the accusers cannot produce proof or evidences of indiscretions.

Once you have to think about it, the guilt is already showing!

Tian Chua, do not for the time being show any evidences no matter how strong it is because if you do not reveal your cards, he will never dare to sue (if he is guilty).....due to the fact that the guilty conscience will never dare allow "the dirt to hit the fan" or "to let the cat out of the bag" or "open the can of worms".....purely because he can never be certain that there are no evidences out there (as RPK has so consistently shown all these while)!

On the other hand, if he is innocent, he should have sued you by now!

Why should Chua go and show the proof to Shafie? When a person says that you are corrupted shut his mouth immediately with legal actions. It does not need to check with any lawyer, a layman is good enough.

How about bringing the evidence to the court and reveal it to the open public? Do you have the stomach for that Shafie? Jangan cakap sahaja, silalah saman! We'll bring the evidence to the court and let everyone see. Ada beranikah ? smilies/grin.gif

Sure. We even show the video of Lingam orchestrating the appointment and judges and the police, court etc. say that there is no further action. What is considered 'evidence' for BN? If a anonymous blog writes about corruption for PR, it is sufficient.

I believe Tian chua. I will be shocked and surprised if the allegation is not true, that is knowing how corrupt and rotten are UNO politicians, with very few exceptions.

Nothing will happen. Look at the obvious corruption by Khir and also his mansion to show and nothing happen to him after MACC was pressured to investigate him. Its all just a show by the BN controlled MACC.
Today I just think of them as a junk food from Mc Donalds....OOOPPSs. Sorry a junk food from the BN led govt. Mc Donald is considered a fast food and junks are from BN only. Dammm
