In that spirit, Malaysia Today reveals the letter that was sent to one-time Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi about all those who indulged in…well…money politics…in the 2004 party elections. Umnono/The-End should be condemned for twisting the fact about corruption. What technical perspective, what internal affairs, what crap. Such a declaration by a DPM or a donkey is irresponsible and a show of continual and open support for corruption.

This reminds me of Taiwan ex-president who also claimed that it was ok to be corrupted since he was fighting for the independence of Taiwan. What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. There is no middle ground.

Are you expecting the below which happened in China?

A reporter asked a group of children what is their ambition.....

Boy 1 : A scientist
Girl 1 : A teacher

Boy 2: An Entrepreneur
Girl 2: A sportswoman

Boy 3: A soldier
Girl 3: A corrupted official because I can earn have lots of money......

Money politic is a technical matter. Whereas corruption is an ethical matter. That is the difference. By technical it means it happens due to wrong technics. Because of ones poor education and knowledge, a wrong technic or way or material was used.An error sort of. Some how some money mean for the poor, disappeared and appeared in the pockets of some whom he even dont know. And by some technical problem these people some how put the cross beside his name which they mean for somebody else. Its kind of baffling. Untill now we in BN still cant solve the problem but we know its technical. Its just a small problem, dont worry. -- Najib Tun Razak. ( Datuk, sorry not mean to redicule, just to clarify a technical problem as many are uneducated )

UMNO members are eating "babi" left, right and centre. This is according to what Toon Kutty had said; those Malays who ate "rasuah" are the same as eating "babi".

MCA, please show those UMNO members how to prepare "Bak Kuteh"!

But I am still amazed, that person with 2 Muhammads gave some money to his agents to bribe the Kelantanese perwakilan; some got RM200, while others RM150. Those who got RM150 was upset because their "rasuah" money are less than those who got RM200! I mean. . ., can you believe this?

Anyway, that is how low and cheapskate UMNO members are, for a mere RM150 or RM200, they are willing to sell their souls!

Orang UMNO ni muka tak tahu malu ke? Tak kesian kat anak bini ke. . ., bagi makan duit "haram" kat anak-bini? Tu kan nanti jadi darah daging tu! Jahat punya orang!

Money politics hijacks your quality of life and your opportunities.

Since vote/support buying enables the unfit and undeserving to reach higher office, you will be governed by those less than mediocre who win by dubious means, and NOT by merit or contributions.

Money politics is a disease of the politicians, but it is actually the rakyat who is actually responsible and accountable for its occurence, and it becoming a pandemic.
(not many people understand this part)

Easy to blame others, hard to make the necessary changes and compete against this disease.

What we are seeing is the same thing that happened with the Sultanates in 15/16th century except its widespread throughout the Malay oligarchy..This is the same way it all started. There will be no legal colonisation of this country BUT colonisation of its economy, culture and social aspect will be in reality.. They won't lose everything but they will lose much.. Its actually an opportunity for Western secular liberalism to strike a compromise with Islamic world - becoming a model that they can point the Middle East to..

UMNO is a goner. The only question is who do they turn to when it does..

Corruption among UMNO delegates is nothing.
UMNO offer bribes to all malays in terms of easy financial assistants, scholarships for the unworthy, easy educational upward obility, secured jobs after graduation with medical benefits, generous pension.
Hence many malays, especially the older civil servants, are still supportive of UMNO despite all their wrong doings. Take away all these benefits, and no malay guy will vote for them.
Thaksin did the same by pumping money into the poor northern region, who happens to be Thailands majority, and PAP did the same with the chinese majority.

The above letter to Badawi shows that bribery was rampant to win the votes of the UMNO delegates from Kelantan. Can you imagine how much more Khir Toyo, Ali Rustam, etc. would have given to delegates from Selangor, Johor, Perak, etc. (the richer states and power base for UMNO)? What we can conclude from the evidence provided is that bribing of UMNO delegates was and is rampant. In fact, those who don't bribe will not get elected. Everyone, including those at the top (president, deputy), would have to bribe to ensure that they stand a chance of being elected - it is only that the top dogs' methods of bribery may not be so direct, more in the style of the "godfather" (ask Mahathir who has perfected the fine art of bribery (and threat) without explicit bribing).

Given that bribing of delegates is the norm, it CANNOT be wrong as far as UMNO is concerned. Just like when something is commonly practised and accepted by the people, it becomes part of common law. That's why Mahathir did nothing about the so called money politics - it was common practice and he too was part and parcel of this practice. Badawi did nothing as money politics was and is a defining characteristic of UMNO - well, his son-in-law Khairy was found guilty of money politics. As for Najib, he has justified bribery in UMNO as a technical issue - do I need to say more?

The hypocrite cum Oscar-standard actor Mahathir kept on complaining, whining and crying in every UMNO asembly about the money politics but DID nothing about it. Why? Because, he was the one who fostered and perpetuated it for his own survival as UMNO president for more than 2 decades. In fact, money politics became entrenched and institionalized during Mahathir's tenure as UMNO president.

As for Badawi, he is best known for his incompetence and slumber. Given these defining characteristics, it would be impossible for Badawi even to initiate the process of cleaning up money politics in UMNO, assuming Badawi was clean. Mahathir had ensured that UMNO and money politics and corruption were married for ever. The task of cleaning UMNO would be formidable even for Superman. Hence, all poor Badawi could do was to receive the letter, glance at it and then go to sleep - even reading and understanding its contents would have been too much for him.

As for Najib - he has emerged as a "good" succesor to Mahathir in continuing Mahathir's legacy for UMNO. Najib is an able caretaker of the corrupt and evil UMNO nurtured and created by Mahathir. Mahathir continues to breath down Najib's back and has placed his son, Mukhriz, to continue this task and later become PM to continue Mahathir's evil and corrupt UMNO.

Not even Mahathir's death will result in any change in UMNO. Mahathir will die but Mahathir's evil and corrupt UMNO may live forever. Corruption and evilness in UMNO will die only when UMNO dies.

Money politics isn't corruption if it's practised by UMNO/BN. They boleh, others tak boleh. That's what happened to Altantuya too....because it isn't murder if committed by UMNO. So, the two scape-goats were instead "punished" (really?).

UMNO members ( the top brass) can commit any crime and they'll not pay because another set of law is applied when it comes to them.

So, the test is right in Bagan Pinang....to see whether Malaysians do care about corruption or not...and that too if the by-election comes out clean. Well, I never trust EC.

Why the hell would these thieves spend so much money buying votes when the rewards of a position in govt hardly pays well? Of course we know those positions in govt will be abused for their own benefit. At the end of the day it's still the people who will pay for it in the form of overpriced projects and of lousy quality. Money politics is corruption and the people will suffer for it..

Mahathir - when he became PM - "launched" the Bersih, Cekap & Amanah tag/slogan.

Mahathir - cakap tak serupa bikin.
Mahathir - the Father of Corruption!! ... Mahathir did things the Mega-way, ref. "mega projects". So his corruption (illgotten wealth, power-abuse) was also "mega."

Which was OK, I guess - under Mahathir's time. At least he transformed a backward country Malaysia, to be "the most developed" Developing Nation; (even though he used other races to advance this "Malaysia Melayu Punya" Malaysia.)

But then came Abdullah Badawi, Mr Nice Guy & Mr Clean.

The same case. Cakap tak serupa bikin. Corruption & power-abuse under the UMNO-led govt went from worse to much more even worse!

So UMNO must go.

UMNO and all its component parties from the time of Mahathir, Ling Liong Sik and Samyvelu have recognised it as a way of life. Use Money to buy politic power, enrich oneself with billions (including the Ling sons and Samy Son).

Corruption is defined as the Willingness to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain > evil or morally depraved.

Hence even the plot to get someone who is not evidently honest or "clean" elected (for political gains which eventually lead to economic gain thru ill-conceived projects or services like what we have seen) elected is corruption. What more if monies were physically given?

Corruption is inevitable if you want to get things done around here. Specifically, with the civil servants. Have you any idea how slow they can work? They would live a longer life than a turtle. If there is no money under the table, you can wait a life time to get your applications look through, you can wait 40 years for your I/C (Like those red card holders, if they pass some money to them, surely they could get their I/C 40 years earlier), blah blah... you get the idea.

No need to even question the civil servants, you can see they have big houses, drive big cars... With their meager salary befitting their poor work performance, to afford such luxuries? Are you not suspicious?
