Life is 2 short 2 vote UMNO! PDF Print

I use to view with amusement the goings on every year of the UMNO AGM at PWTC. The fight between Team A and Team B, spectacle of Mahathir crying on stage, the brandishing of the Kris, gag order, no gag order, contest no contest…the whole spectrum of human failings all there for us to see.

But amusement is far from an appropriate response given the anger that I now feel at the way UMNO is still conducting itself despite the wake up call of the last General Election.  UMNO has enjoyed over fifty years of freedom in which they were left alone to do as they wish  - to change, amend, and innovate whatever they choose to do to ensure Ketuanan Melayu and to deliver a united, peaceful and prosperous Malaysia with abundant opportunities for all citizens. They failed.

For the Malays who have staunchly supported UMNO and  unfailingly given UMNO their  votes it has been a challenging time. It used to be the opposition parties that has been looked upon by the Malays with detached amusement as these parties tried desperately to muster the non-Malay votes without much success. Those Malays who openly sided with these opposition parties were regarded as a traitor to the Malay cause. How times have changed.

The myth of UMNO as being the champion of the Malays has long been proven a farce. It might be a myth that UMNO still continues to encourage though we know that that UMNO accomplishments or lack thereof is there for all to see. If the integrity and ability of Singapore Leaders to govern their  City State well is an inspiration to people the world over, and if that made UMNO leaders look like little man, then UMNO has only themselves to blame.

Hussein Hamid,

I think you got it wrong when you said that Umno actually holds an AGM every year. An AGM is a general meeting where all the delegates and members meet to elect their leaders and to plan an agenda to improve their association. The one that they hold at PWTC on a yearly basis is a forum of race-bashing and phallus-waving.

Hakim Joe,

If I may add. . ., the annual gathering at PWTC is their training module on the art of corruption; i.e., bribe giving and bribe taking!

Well you know, they need to teach their future leaders the art of corruption and looting in line with their motto “dulu rasuah, kini rompak, dan selamanya korup”!

I remembered an article written by RPK that a vessel was found loaded with arms (machine guns, pistols, etc) and he was requesting that PR officials question BN in Parliament.

Commentors then said that these arms could be :
a) bound for another country
b) for the build-up within Malaysia in case of need such as training and arming the RELA guys. Beware, these RELA guys can be mobiised with these extra arms to start a riot or emergency comes GE13.

RPK's article is titled "A challenge to the Malaysian government to explain this", dated 24 Aug 2009. It makes an interesting and worrisome read.
Please re-read it.

Hakim Joe and Arazak, please tell the PR team....Many Thanks.

For your convenience, here's an extract of the worrisome discovery:

But I am not too concerned with all that. After all, this has been going on for 40 years. All our neighbouring countries know about how Malaysia has been meddling in their internal affairs and has been assisting the guerrilla groups. Why do you think Thailand helped Chin Peng and his CMP guerrilla army? That was a tit-for-tat for what Malaysia was doing with the Muslim separatists in Southern Thailand.

What I am concerned with is the latest revelation of the Malaysian government purchasing millions of rounds of ammunition and tens of thousands of pistols, submachine guns and stun grenades. And this is the Malaysian government’s ‘shopping list’:

9mm pistols & accessories
9mm submachine guns & accessories
7.62mm sniper ammunition
9mm para subsonic ammunition
9mm para hollow point ammunition
Stun grenades One-Bang
Stun grenades 7-Bang

Now, there is nothing wrong with governments buying bullets, pistols, submachine guns and stun grenades, even in the millions of rounds and tens of thousands of pieces like what the Malaysian government is doing. All governments do this, even the Malaysian government. But this particular cache is not being procured through ‘normal channels’. There is no tender being called for this purchase. It is being negotiated through ‘underground’ sources, the way illegal organisations or terrorist groups would normally do.

Why would Malaysia want to by-pass the official or legal channels in buying all these guns, ammunition and grenades? Are they meant for illegal purposes? Are they meant for onward transmission to terrorist groups that Malaysia is supporting? Or is the final destination of this cache of weapons Malaysia itself?

This is most alarming. They most certainly can’t be for the Malaysian security forces. If they were then the government would buy them through an official tender and from authorised or legitimate suppliers instead of through underground sources. But if they were for foreign terrorist groups then for sure Malaysia would not want to do it the legal way because then they can be traced back to Malaysia.

What is most worrying is the recent announcement that Umno intends to send its Youth Movement members for paramilitary training. Does Umno intend to train and arm its Youth Movement? If so then what is the purpose for doing so? And is this latest ‘underground’ procurement of millions of rounds of ammunition and tens of thousands of pistols, submachine guns and stun grenades part of this plan?

The Malaysian government needs to reply to all these questions. The rakyat can’t remain silent about this very alarming turn of events. We know that there are moves to buy these armaments. That, the Malaysian government can’t deny. To deny this is futile. But what we do not know yet is the reason the Malaysian government is buying them on the ‘black market’ and whether these would all finally end up on the streets of Malaysia in the hands of Umno Youth who would soon be trained on how to use them.

The Members of Parliament from both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat need to demonstrate outrage. This is not just about swindling the rakyat out of billions of our tax money. That, after all, is only money. This is more serious. This involves the nation’s security. Government’s cannot turn rogue by dabbling in illegal arms and ammunition purchases without explaining what they intend to do with enough firepower to start a civil war in the country.

Lim Kit Siang, Anwar Ibrahim, Abdul Hadi Awang, and all those presidents of the non-Umno component members of Barisan Nasional…hello…can you hear me? Please get to the bottom of this matter and demand that the government explain itself.

Don’t deny it. Don’t issue statements that the police will be asked to investigate this latest ‘lie’ from Malaysia Today. This is no lie. We are aware of what you are buying. What we want to know is why you are buying them and what you intend to do with them. And why are you going onto the black market to buy them from underground sources if there is nothing sinister about what you are doing?

This is very true. Malaysian goverment has armed the Moro Liberation Front of Philippins to fight their goverment. They used Malaysian Police commando to train these rebels in Ulu Kinta Perak. Then they were sent back. Then when the MLF attacked the Police Base in Lahat Datu Sabah many years ago, the Malaysian govt knew what morons these Moros were. Then MLF attacked the Sipadan Island and kidnapped Malaysian tourists and demanded ransom. The goverment paid. A decision was made for a table talk between these rebels n our goverment in one of the islands off Sabah. What happened was when the rebels came Malysian 69 comandos shot and killed them when the recognized there were the ones that were trained by them. The Philps govt knows of our dirty hands meddling in their affairs and to stop them from telling officialy to the world that Malaysia has armed n trained international terrorist, they demanded Malaysia to clean up the mess by playing mediator cum peace force cum obsever in their troubled south. The best part is were the tax payer is paying for the ops and not Manila nor the UN.

If the strong political tide is still going against UMNO and BN the way it is, how many of us actually think there will be a next GE by 2013? There are two possibilities:

One, UMNO will continually create more racial discord until hell breaks lose, impose emergency and postpone the next GE by a few years when the time comes.

Second, they will show more force by way of routing out the opposition leaders by imposing certain Acts on them to intimidate their followers and population-at-large into submission nearing the GE.

Are we so optimistic now that those corrupt and arrogant UMNOputras with their inherent racist SAKAI mentally and approach will so easily let go of power after 52 years of unassailable blundering the nation's wealth just because the people said so now? We can hope that either of the above scenarios will not happen but the million dollar question is what can we concerned citizens do about it when it does happen? Will the majority of the population, the citizens of Malaysia rise above the fray of racial disunity created by UMNO, unite and force them to proceed with the next GE as scheduled? We need people who can overcome these real worrisome possibilities which UMNO is now seemingly preparing themselves for to lead the way. We must condition ourselves to face up to any eventuality! Are we ready to truly unite against UMNO’s evil forces come what may?

Well articulated truthful to the point top it off;comprehensive. It's an indictment towards the fence leaning, ill-confident, I don't trust neither party (politician)rhetoric and unregistered voters alike which continue to prolong UMNO Barisan hold on power. In a nut shell simple minded folks. Unseating the status quo requires decisive and necessary involvement and its past the time we challenge families friends even our casual acquaintances to get involve.
