(The Star) PUTRAJAYA: Police investigations into the posting of classified Cabinet papers on the Internet will focus more on where the leak occurred rather than who was responsible for making them public, said Home Minister Datuk Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

He also warned that the police would even probe ministers if they were suspected to be involved.

Hishammuddin said since the papers were classified, the person responsible for the leak would have to be "someone on the inside" and as such would have to face action.

He said the act of leaking the papers was serious as it jeopardised the government’s decisions on how to lead, manage and administer the country and it was something that could not be tolerated.

“The papers were leaked before they were even discussed in cabinet and there is a possibility that they may not even have been discussed but leaking the papers has compromised the cabinet.

“There is a reason why the Official Secrets Act (OSA) was created and all those within the Government have a responsibility to respect the law and the confidentiality of the documents.

“I have told the police to conduct an all out and thorough investigation and investigate even ministers if they are suspected to be involved,” he told reporters when met at the Hari Raya open hosted by the Prime Minister and cabinet ministers here on Sunday.

On another matter, Hishammuddin said the police had already handed to the Attorney General’s Chambers investigation papers on the allegations by Tunku Nadzimuddin Tunku Mudzaffar, grandson of the late Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negri Sembilan, that the Raja Muda of Johor Tunku Ismail Idris had put a gun to his head and hit him.

The minister said the police had thus completed their work and it was now up to the AG’s chambers to decide on the next course of action.

Asked why the police took more than 11 months to conclude investigations into the case, he said that the papers had been handed in earlier but the AG’s chambers had then requested for additional information over the case.

“I was also told that the two sides had one point tried to resolve the problem on their own but what is wrong is wrong and the papers have now been handed to AG’s chambers and it is up to them to decide on the next course of action,” he said.

Tunku Nadzimuddin had claimed that he was hit in his head and face, had a gun pointed at his head, and suffered a fractured nose and other serious injuries as a result of the incident while his lawyer friend, Shamshuddhuha Ishak, who was knocked out, lost two teeth.

He had also hit out at the police for failing to act after having assured him that they would investigate the case and take the necessary action.

How did RPK obtain such so called OSA leaked info? I can bet there are ministers among UMNO and MCA who would like to put the final nail into OTK without realising it implicated their own many UMNO and MCA ex and current leaders into the scandals. smilies/grin.gif With GOD willingness, these UMNO and MCA will be punished

It is interesting to read this reply of His-sham-mudin to understand the mind of a spin-master. Now he wanted us to believe that the cabinet MAY NOT have discussed the memorandum issued by the finance ministry and thus there was denialability by all the cabinet ministers if fraud were discovered. This is certainly a very creative twist of events.

This raises a question. If there were no cabinet decisions RETROSPECTIVELY of the violation of issueing letter of guarantee than why didn't guni pet-tail charge the two ministers of transport ?

This is like a situation where a woman with just a tiny little loin cloth tried to cover her breast. Something has to be exposed and it would appeared that the two mca ministers would be hung out to dry. It would be interesting and instructive to read or listen to what these 2 ministers have to say.

If the former Taiwanese president where to be in Malaysia, then he would not have to spend his life time in jail because the government will then look for those fella who leak informations about his corrupted ways and take action against them instead of jailing the former president...this is the way in this Bodohlabd land. A cabinet minister who has been part of those bunch in the cabinet that betrays the people is now acting in vegeance and fury to catch those responsible for the information leak...talking about People First, Performance Now...this is the joke of the century in this country.

This Home Minsiter is yet to explain why such a paper is classified OSA? Anyone agree that this paper threaten the security of the country? To begin with, Malaysians wants to know the BASIS OF OSA CLASSIFICATION. PLEASE EXPLAIN. Else we would all think that it is: 1. TO COVER UP CORRUPTION IN THE CABINET. 2. TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE WHO LOOTED BIG TIME THE TAX PAYER'S MONEY. ???

Dear Menteri Dalam Negeri

We are not interested in who or where it was leaked from. Rakyat interest is in why there is a leak and no one repair it or investigation into who put the hole there. Okay maybe that is too ha to understand. We want to know why no one went to jail for it and why there is OSA use to cover up the mess... Now we need BN to resign en mass and call for a PRU-13.... I dare you to do it... to proof BN's innocent.

The bn voters loved being fcuked hard and sodomised rough by bn - why else they keep voting bn back to power? For stability? Or for constant regular screwing?

Let's be realistic - this country is so screwed-up that some of us are all getting used to it. But due to people able to read online these days, the govt will proceed with projects quietly, unannounced, very low profile. Take for e.g. the 2nd LCCT, do we need that? But they are going ahead with the project. F1 is a Big Fcuk You 1 for bodohland. Don't like it? Too bad. Wait till this bloody govt brings down Selangor.

Plundering the wealth of the country is okay so long as it is not leaked to RPK or Opposition party ! However, once it is leaked to RPK or the opposition party and the whole world knows about it,then use OSA to punish those who are responsible for leaking it while they keep enjoying their loots.

Malaysia is a typical third world country without dignity !

Quite clearly, they are attempting to justify the scandal by spinning it into a leakage of government secrets which again quite clearly is a matter of the government being in the know of the monumental ripping off of the treasury under the very noses of the people entrusted to protect the financial interests of the people AND with the cabinet's implicit approval.
In a mature democracy, this would constitute fraud and the perpetrators sent to jail for their misdeeds. It is unfortunate that todate, none has been held to accountability and the government still believes the people are morons or perhaps wanting to belive they are nincompoops.
They are ssdly mistaken and they will find out in good time the rakyat cannot be taken for fools perpetually.

Since when does stealing from the Rakyat fall under OFFICIAL SECRETS??? The Rakyat has been informed by RPK conclusively that the whole cabinet are crooks. The BN Government is a thieving Government. We have to educate the people of Bagan Pinang that UMNO is a thieving organisation. If they still insist on voting them in, then those who vote for UMNO are themselves thieves. It is a gross abuse of the OSA and this idiot Hishamudin is as usual trying to spin his way out. Shame on you.

Well, Pre-PRU12, BN was 2/3 majority? Does is rung the bell?...Surely-lah those papers and many many more of its' kind were discussed by certain BN leaders and got it endorsed retrospectively. What's the point of discussing in the cabinet to expose the interested parties to the opposition. Just get the 2/3 majority from BN and classified as SECRET/RASHIA. Answer the puzzle?

Now post PRU12 the majority not there then there were some minister not happy with what is going on so those paper got leak lah.... Thanks to ALLAH SWT to allow this to happened. Now everyone in the country seen it and what more in the can?????? Hopefully those documents were all out there awaiting to be surrounded for publishing... Insyallah..

This mother of all scandal is a collective responsibillity of the BN Government. Each and every member of the BN members of Parliament are equally guilty if they do not resign from their position as MP or at the least demand an explanation on why , how,and who, of the whole scandal. To keep themselves out of this scandal and and not be part of it, resignation enmass is the only solution. If they dont, then they should give a vote of no confidence on the leadership. Remember MPs you are as guilty if you do no NO ACTION.
