Parti Keadilan Rakyat supports The Peoples' Declaration/Deklarasi Rakyat PDF Print

On behalf of Parti Keadilan Rakyat, I would like to express our appreciation to the civic minded Malaysians who have produced this document entitled The People’s Declaration/Deklarasi Rakyat.

After very careful study of the said document, we conclude that many of the points raised in it are, in fact, consistent with Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s principles and objectives. In fact, quite a number of the issues raised in this Declaration were included in the Common Election Manifesto of Barisan Alternative in 1999 General Elections. These issues will certainly be reflected in KeADILan’s Election Manifesto for the coming 2008 General Election.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat will, therefore, affirm our support for The People’s Declaration. We will ensure that all elected legislators of KeADILan will implement and advocate all the issues contained in the document. However, the only minor point of divergence is on the establishment of a Ministry in charge of Non-Islamic Religious Affairs. We do not see that a ministry that separates Malaysians along the religious line will effectively resolve the problems of national unity. On the contrary, we believe the Ministry of National Unity should be revived and then assigned the task of promoting inter-religious and inter-ethnic dialogue.

KeADILan will also help to circulate The People’s Declaration during our election campaign. .

PKR thank you for supporting the Deklarasi Rakyat. If you are supporting it than why does PKR need a separate manifesto?

Already PKR has gain my vote of confidence. Quote; 'The (inner) governor, who used to govern my body is now incapable of government; so treatment is no longer of any use'. Avicenna- The great Iranian Muslim Master.

mijoan,
Deklarasi Rakyat and PKR Manifesto is two different things. PKR cannot acclaim the Declaration as PKR manisfesto since it was developed by MT and it's owned by MT. It's a document of people's expression on what they wanted the elected government to do when they are in power no matter who becomes the government.

PKR Manifesto is a pledge of PKR to the people what they will do if they be given the power to rule the country. If the people agree, then PKR will be paid with votes, but if the people don't agree, they it will cost its votes from the people.

PKR will get more votes this time. Please pass to other friends, relatives, office mates etc.

Pete, please stamp on the declaration document the logo of the parties who had declared their support. I bet BN will not support it! Let's see!

Dear Jebat2020,
Thank you to PKR for supporting the People's Declaration.
YM RPK and our team at Malaysia-Today should be elated, nevertheless
it is unfortunate and regretable that PAS, PKR & DAP cannot at this
stage form an Alliance of some sort. Is it impossible to use the
People's Declaration as a platform and build up an understanding.
We the Rakyat want to see a strong FRONT on a common platform.
Is it not possible to get Tuan Abbas Salleh & YM RPK to negotiate
and find some sort of common ground. Islamisation, perhaps is an
envy of some but is Malaysia ready for it, this 2008 GE? Why loose
votes on account of a fundamental that cannot be achieved now?
WHY LOOSE THE OPPORTUNITY OF EITHER (1)DENYING THE BN OF THE
2/3 MAJORITY OR (2)DEFEATING THE BN AT THE POLLS BY A SLIM 51%
MAJORITY on account of a fundamental we all know that is not viable
immediately?
I feel very sad that after more than 50 years, this nation does not
still have opposition parties who are yet to mature and be able to
form a viable opposition coalition in whom the Rakyat can confidently
place their trust and their future.
