PENANG: Gerakan acting president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon's hand was clearly forced when he announced his preference to move to a federal post and thus give up the Penang Chief Minister post, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng claimed.

In a press statement, Lim said Dr Koh's announcement came only after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said he would decide for him if Dr Koh was unable to make up his mind whether to contest a state or parliamentary seat.

Speaking to reporters in Johor Baru last night, Koh denied that he had been forced to make the decision to contest a parliamentary seat. (Star)

Whether it is MCA or Gerakan or any other BN component parties, UMNO have the final say, this is how prostitutes are treated.

Funny that the Star is reporting this. Considering that MCA owns the Star, clearly this is another blow for Gerakan, being stabbed in the back by MCA. Perhaps UMNO and MCA is working hand in glove in this matter. Who knows, the next Chief Minister may not be from UMNO, but their crony in MCA.

MCA and Gerakan not ok together just like MIC and PPP. Insiders in Gerakan said that it is sometimes quite difficult to get their views across because it does not control any form of media.

Koh Tsu Koon is not as fool as he looks. Its survival for him. He knows Penang will vote for a new government this time. He cannot stay behind and not only be blamed, but also out of politics as well. This way, when Penang votes for the opposition, he can say he wasn't around to lead and he will still survive at federal level.
