All this clearly shows that there are still 2Malaysias, and that in word and deed, our national leaders affirm that. But Malaysians today are surely aware of that. When the double standards are so blatantly applied, the aggrieved parties will certainly take note.

By Kee Thuan Chye

WHAT a farce the cow-head incident is turning out to be. The handling of the case so far demonstrates clearly that all that talk about 1Malaysia is mostly cow pie.

Firstly, the police have been slow to act. They concluded their investigations last Tuesday and handed them over to the Attorney-General. Now we have to wait further for the august A-G to decide whether action will be taken. In this regard, one can’t help but be reminded that nothing has yet come out of the V.K. Lingam case – so long after the Royal Commission of Inquiry ruled that there were grounds for the A-G to take action.

Secondly, Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein goes out of his way to meet with the protestors, the very people who had committed what is apparently a seditious act by bringing a cow’s head to their protest and spitting at it and kicking it. All because they didn’t want a Hindu temple to be relocated in their area of residence in Shah Alam.

Would Hishammuddin have done the same if it had been Hindus protesting against the relocation of a mosque in their housing estate? Imagine what the reaction of the authorities would have been if that had been the case.

What’s worse, after the meeting, he spouted the most diabolical doublespeak and politicospeak when he told reporters that the protestors could not be blamed as “they had no intention at all” to invoke racial sentiments or cause tension. He even said they felt victimised. He defended their illegal protest (they had no permit) by saying they kept the number of protestors to a small number.

Well, Minister, some people have been arrested for protesting in an even smaller number.

As expected, he blamed the Selangor Government, saying it had made “a poor decision” in relocating the temple. And then he made a statement that he should from now on be forever held accountable for: “In this day and age, protests should be accepted in this world, as people want their voices to be heard. If we don't give them room to voice their opinions, they have no choice but to protest.”

Well, that’s straight from the Home Minister’s mouth, folks. Public protests are A-OK. So keep your tear gas, water cannons and whatnot at home, cops.

To cap it all, Hishammuddin said this was not the first time an animal’s head had been used in a protest. He revealed that there was a time when a pig’s head, wrapped in an Umno flag, was thrown into Umno’s headquarters.

This is most disconcerting, especially coming from a Minister who is charged with ensuring peace and harmony in the country. What was he trying to imply? Yes, he was exonerating the cow-head protestors, but wasn’t he also sneakily trying to blame another community by bringing up the pig’s head? If so, isn’t that mischievous? And, surely, he must be aware that two wrongs don’t make a right. So why bring up the earlier wrong to justify the cow-head one?

The day after this infamous press conference, Hishammuddin does a virtual about-turn and announces that the cow-head protestors should now be hauled to court because what they did could not be tolerated. He says he never justified their action in the first place. Is he suffering from amnesia? Has boss Najib ticked him off for the things he said the day before?

As usual, he puts the blame on others and says it was bloggers who had made it seem as if he was condoning the cow-head protest. What a genius we have for a Minister! Did he learn this from the master, Dr Mahathir?

To exacerbate the situation and make the ruling party look desperate, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) comes out and instructs Malaysiakini to remove two videos from its archives – one of the cow-head protest itself and the other of Hishammuddin’s shameful press conference.

There is no cause for that. News is news, and what has been recorded is now part of our history. It is insensible of the MCMC to ask that they be removed, as if to erase history like Communist Russia did in the 1940s.

And why remove the Hishammuddin video? I can only fathom one reason for it – to save him from embarrassment. If that is so, the MCMC is not doing him a favour. He has to grow up and be a man. He has to admit his mistake for saying what is recorded in that video. This is his rite of passage. Let him go through it. If he can’t be man enough, how can he be considered for future Prime Ministership? (That is, if Malaysians would allow it to happen.)

All this clearly shows that there are still 2Malaysias, and that in word and deed, our national leaders affirm that.

This can’t be good for Prime Minister Najib Razak who seems to be trying to win non-Malay hearts and minds with his 1Malaysia slogan (I say “slogan” because that’s just what it is so far – full of words and little action). The cow-head incident would have set his efforts back substantially. The Bagan Pinang by-election is coming up and there are 20 per cent of Indian voters for that State seat. How will they vote?

Judging by what has been happening the past few months, Barisan Nasional has not been giving a good account of itself. In fact, it has mostly been shooting itself in the foot. And this without the help of Pakatan Rakyat whatsoever.

Just look at the kind of candidate they fielded for the Permatang Pasir by-election. And the current work-in-progress of Najib saying one thing while his deputy says the opposite.

As Najib goes about promoting 1Malaysia, Muhyiddin Yassin has been playing to the Malay gallery. He called Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim a traitor to the Malay race; defended an article in the Malay press calling on the Malays to stop being cowards and rise up; and on the same day that the 1Malaysia logo was publicly unveiled, he asserted that Umno would fight to the last drop of blood to protect Malay rights.

Meanwhile, race-baiting goes on almost daily in the Malay mainstream media, concerted in its aim to threaten, frighten and divide. That these media organisations are owned and controlled by Najib’s own party underscores the conundrum. The messages sent out by these media organisations and the messages he himself is sending out are totally at odds with each other. Whom are we to listen to? Whom are we to trust?

Is there a game plan behind it all? Are we the rakyat mere pawns in the game? When the game is over, will we be played out?

I certainly hope not.

The begining of "Melayukistan". Just watch the three videos and you can make a simple conclusion. The Cow head Video, Kerismuddin endorsing the cow head Crowd's action by not taking any action (see video) and finally the "perbincangan" video between the Pakatan Govt and Sect 23 residents video. (Note the cowardly chair pulling act by a definately UMNO member). Judge for yourself. Note that PDRM dogs were not present.

The cow head bearers must be brought to book and jailed for publicly inciting hatred and trying to promote racail unrest in the streets. Why is the police reacting so slowing? Only Hishamuddin knows!

There is a newly rebuilt mosque right in the centre of Indian Street in Klang! I don't see any Indians protesting. I bet my last dollar if one Indian dares to stand up and protest carrying either a chicken or duck's head into the mosque he would be hauled up to to the nearest police lockup in double time!

Now every Raayat irrespective of race knows what BN especially UMNO is trying to do! Wise up before our children wake up finding themselves in another Zimbabwee, Burma or Congo!

Raayat as ONE but BN as component parties only!

I don't know what is 1Malaysia when there are issues of divide and rule by race and religion. Politicians particularly BN make things worse by all sorts of announcement touching on a number of events. Where is this leading to will have the result in GE13.

I do not know why Indians are still keeping their MIC memberships and voting for BN? Haven't they had enough already being stepped and peed by UMNO?

Even as a Malay, I could not stomach and see what UMNO had done to the Indians. . .!

The latest incident of cow's head demonstration is clearly a demonstration of the BN government to destabilise the PR state government.
Last year they unsuccessfully blamed the Selangor gomen for using coffee money to buy cows for the Raya celebrations.
Then they again tried to allege the state exco. members for corruption. This again the failed and that resulted in the removal of Teoh Beng Hock's life from earth.
Now they used the cow's head to incite the residents to create trouble for other residents and the Selangor gomen in question. This is clearly reflected in Hishamuddin's media statement, thus, " If I wanted to use the issue to create chaos in Selangor I can but we didn't take such action. "
The upcoming by-election in Negri Sembilan is a good opportunity to prove to the people whether the things that the BN government has been doing since March 08 are correct or not. PR leaders must use this chance to prove to the voters that the BN government is a liar and a cheat in all circumstances.

When a "leader" double-speaks (either by himself or with the aid of their mat rempits or the media which are totally under their control), and the objective or impact of such doublespeak is such that there is a sinister outcome, then, the theory of relativity will kick in and the more evil of intentions would be the main message that the leader intends to convey.

If he speaks of respect, racial and religious toleration and a whole host of other positive attributes of a democratic society while at the same time allows the hooligans and medias which he can totally control to send out and harp on racist and hatred messages which incites intolerance, disruptions and chaos, then, the message to be taken is that the leader is in fact trying to portray himself as a good guy while secretly subverting the very element of a peaceful, tolerant and democratic society.

These type of people are more dangerous than terrorists because we can identify terrorists and set in motion strategies to terminate them. For these people, they are supposed to be our government but yet they behaves like purveyors of hatred and lies without recourse instead of being the rakyat's legal guardians.

A leader will only resort to double-speak when he has something sinister to hide and that is a dangerous game because all hatred incitements and posturings will one day come to a crescendo where fireworks will rule the day.

These insidious activities must stop immediately before it becomes too late.

This Home Minister, Hishammuddin Hussein, not only lost his credibilty as Home Minsiter but whatever values he set or taught when he was the Education Minsiter.(I don't know how his grandfather & father reacted when they heard him in their graves, the prominent Onn Jaffar & Hussein Onn?)

UMNO is now churning-out more & more 'leaders' who are without credibility, moral & integrity. This is definitely a sign to the end of the 'Corrupted UMNO Regime'.
Malaysia truly needs an Upright & Credible Alternate Government(just as what is been seen in the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand etc etc)to check & balance the need for a God fearing & Upright Government.

Citizens of Malaysia, it is time for the change comes the next GE. This time no mercy for the Corrupted, Abuse of Power & Covering-up of criminal acts UMNO/BN goons.

In God We Trust. The UMNO/BN who is 'In Money & Power We Trust' must go! Amen.

lets put it this way, Malaysia is run by idiots. Look at the govt office. Most of the high ranking officials dont deserve to be there. Look at our politicians, they are not even well known or reputable public figure or business man other than being born to a VIP or staying in public service for 20 years.

Hisham is an idiot. He didnt seem like an idiot cos he never held a post which requires him to express his public views. Now that he does, he shows little to no IQ.

That disgraceful son of the noble statesman Tun Hussein Onn shot himself in the balls this time. God Almighty allowed those low life to carry out their distasteful conduct with the cow's head in order to expose the senseless hatred that is brewing in our community perpetrated by those in power. While all the ugliness is being unfolded in this beloved country of ours we must brace ourselves for a collision course with disastrous consequences. Our country can only be saved by God fearing leaders. Please think and vote carefully for those in whose hands we place our lives and our children's lives. When the time comes, vote with a conscience with God on your side to let God fearing people lead the country. May God bless our country.
