Only the weak need to be defended all the time. Why are there so many defenders of Islam ??? Is Islam so weak that its need to be defended all the time? There are already 1 billion muslim in the world who do a small group of people in Malaysia always shout that they are defending Islam. By the way who is ATTACKING Islam? How did they attack islam?

Art Harun, we know who are the people behind such evil deeds. They are the cowherds (jaga lembu) who control these rampaging senseless bulls. Cowherd NO 1 - Moo-Hee-Din. Cowherd NO 2 - Khairy. Cowherd No 3 - Khir Toyol. Just look at the record of UMNO's attack on DAP and PAS and Anwar. All were either racially or religiously coloured and with intent to inflame passions. They also sent the UMNO police to protect the bulls. That says a lot and we will all remember UMNO come election time! The only way to make them learn is to say that such tactics is not going to get my vote!

Non muslims in this country generally have great respect for Islam and do not dare to insult Islam but sooner or later some muslims will do it themselves.
The cow head incident is a case in point. The Hindus in sec 23 only wanted to build a temple but some muslims had to drag a cow head in protest and threaten violence and bloodshed. This act paints a very bad impression on these people and the religion is unfairly viewed as intolerant and non peaceful. Who do you blame for all the ridicule that has fallen on this great religion if not these muslims?

honestly i respect what you belief and it will gain more respect when your actions speak louder than your words. But then again not in the wrong waylah. Action here means to not only tolerate, respect and accept others to let them practice and belief in their belief.Then only can we say my belief requires of me to love others as well and my actions should be firmly built on these foundation of love to all mankind.

I am a non Muslim and after reading the article, I begin to understand that Islam is also a good religion. Here it teaches its believers to be in harmony with self and with others.

Looking at the bigger picture, all religion have their saviors who sacrifice their way of life to guide their people to become good people. We should be God fearing and have a pure heart to practice the religion we sincerely believe in.

May all Beings be free from Harm and Danger. May they be free from Mental and Physical Sufferings. And may they take care of themselves Happily and Peacefully.

My dear Art Harun, thanks for the write-up. It is a good one to enlighten the readers further in regards of the places of worship. People patronize the places have one thing in common: they seek solace, comfort, assurance, hope, and as well as purify their minds from the impurities of the world they live in.

By the way, that reminds me of your Chinese friend, Ah Gek, whom you have mentioned in your previous article. The translation of the Chinese name means PURITY in its purest form.....

I shall NOT comment on Islam but only on Christianity and I welcome Christians to tell me if I am wrong.

In Christian teachings, it is a sin to use God's name in Vain and therefore...

a. Swearing in the name is God is a sin.
b. Trying to find an excuse for ourselves by using God's name.
c. Defending God when God don't need us....
d. Trying to speak on behalf of God....
e. Claiming something God did not command or said...
f. All other forms of using God's name as an excuse for ourselves..

No need to get so technical...just Love God and preach the gosple of Jesus to everyone. If they don't listen...move on....very simple. Unlike 1 religion in Malaysia...in spite of their dominance, RTM, media, daily Reflection , reading of Holy words, how to read it correctly, 5 times call to gather.....the Munafik prevails and their EVILS continues un-curtailed! Muslims are denied the fundamental right to question what they are taught by the clergy. They react strongly as a means of self-defence instead of engaging in constructive debate when views opposed to theirs are expressed. They have these huge impairments that prevents any self corrective measures. How are they going to help themselves?

Despicable double standard. If this was done by non Muslims to Muslims, they would be locked up without questioning. They would have to prove their innocence to come out. But in this case no; authorities must investigate before taking any action.

We know this is a political stunt. They put the cow head in front of the chief ministers office. They put up UMNO flag in front of their home to show their threat.

Some non-Muslims have been infected by Islamophobia. Some praise the religion as a beautiful one without even knowing the truth while an equal quantum love to do bashing, more than necessary whenever opportunities come by. These groups are small in number when compared to the fourth type, who are least bothered by the religion. They are perturbed only by the conduct of the Muslims – both the leaders and the layman.

To them, Islam is the practice of the community whether or not stated in the books. They are not bothered about what has been scripted and do not read, just like the Muslims not reading the books of other religions. If most Muslims had not understood their own books, how certain it is that I would understand in one or two readings?

Therefore, a religion is made out from the conduct of its followers. If they pray 5 times a day or fast for 30 days a year, or perform circumcision, --- that would be the religion to the non-Muslims’ eyes. Even now, the silent majority believe that a procession carrying banners (not to mention the Cow-head) is part of the religion since they have witnessed processions with banners and chantings on Maulud Nabi Day.

When conducts of the followers are seen as unfair and without any sense of justice, that is when these non-Muslims speak up against the Muslims and their religion. Situations like that of Lina Joy, child conversion, custody not given to non-Muslim mothers, corpse snatching, marriage institution wrecking, etc. As far as they are concerned, the Muslims and religious departments are doing exactly what their religion expects them to do, and therefore there is no distinction between Islam and Muslims’ acts. Just like all Malays are Muslims by constitutional requirement.

The average non-Muslim (the largest group of the four) is not expected and does not react as when he is experiencing a serious issue or crisis.Generally speaking, they mind their own business and close both eyes to dismiss trivial matters and not wanting to make a mountain from a molehill. Any problem if not handled well will lead to crisis, including serious ones. If the Police had acted fast and on the spot like they had done to other groups and opposition parties, not a soul worthy of mention will pass comments that now appear as Islam-bashing.

Beside asking whether Muslims are to be blamed for briging redicule to Islam, should you not ask also WHY?
Forgive me but this is what I read about the Quran and Islam. Yes from a Quran and also from the net. Beside good teachings, there are harsh and cruel if not evil teachings in the Quran also as highlighted by those who are honest or out to bring redicules to Islam in the net. How true are they? Well I have read it in a Quran. Or is it a false Quran? ( Its with Bahasa Translations - Indonesian publication )

Maybe the Muslims are divided by these teachings- one group would follow the good and the other the bad and ignore the other teachings in the Quran? If not how come there are two types of Muslim, one who seek to destroy anybody they deem evil and the other group so ashamed who countered it by revealing the good teaching of the Quran? These all Muslims must ask themselves -WHY?
