Tok Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat was reported to have said that Umno people will not go to heaven. This has upset many Umno people who want to go to heaven -- and I am hoping they will go as soon as possible. Anyway, what did Nik Aziz really say? Malaysia Today is holding a spot the difference contest. There are no prizes for the right answer though.

Nik Aziz’s statement as reported by Buletin Utama TV3:

‘‘Tiada sebab langsung orang Islam tolak Islam. Islam yang dibawa oleh UMNO ini Islam kacukan, Islam plastik. Macam duit palsu, ubat palsu, makanan palsu. Ini Islam palsu yang dibawa UMNO."

‘‘Islam ini tidak boleh bawa ke akhirat, tidak boleh bawa ke syurga, dia boleh bawa dekat pintu kubur. Bertengkar atas muka tak habis-habis dengan Melayu sendiri boleh bertengkar.’’

Nik Aziz’s statement as reported by Bernama:

Mursyidul Am Pas Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat berkata, anggota UMNO tidak akan masuk syurga kerana parti itu mengamalkan ajaran Islam palsu dari Palestin. Katanya, terdapat perbezaan antara Islam yang didakwah oleh Pas dan Islam yang diamalkan oleh umat Islam daripada kalangan anggota UMNO.

“Islam bawah UMNO tidak ke mana dan tidak boleh bawa seseorang itu ke syurga. Berdasar perkara itu, saya percaya penduduk di kawasan Permatang Pasir akan memilih calon Pas sebagai wakil rakyat mereka,” katanya kepada pemberita di Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN) di sini hari ini selepas proses penamaan calon bagi pilihan raya kecil Permatang Pasir.

Even I as a non muslim can understand what Tok Guru said, the statement can be apply to any other religion as well. Even if a hindu doesnt practise a way that been thought than he will never smell the heaven.

Same goes to UMNO too. If they fail to practise Islam in the way that should be than they will face the same fate. Tok guru never said UMNO's are not muslim but he said they failr follow the Islamic way. Whats wrong with it?

I do sometimes fail to follow the correct way of Hinduism but that doesnt make me murtad to my religion. But I still commits sin that will haunt me later and will make me answerable to GOD in my later life.
