(Bernama) - The Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is going ahead with the investigations into alleged misappropriation of state allocations involving seven Selangor assemblymen and executive councillors despite the death of a witness, Teoh Beng Hock.

Selangor MACC director Jaafar Mahad told Bernama that the investigations, however, were proceeding at a slower pace as the commission itself was under police investigations following Teoh’s death.

Teoh, 30, the political aide of Selangor executive councillor Ean Yong Hian Wah, was found dead on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam believed to be due to a fall on July 16.

Teoh had come to the MACC office on the 14th floor of the building the day before to have his statement taken by the MACC.

Jaafar said police had been coming to the MACC office to carry out checks, question its officers and take their hand phones.

“This has somewhat affected the process of our own investigations,” he said.

He said that 16 MACC officers who were involved in the investigations had been questioned by police.

Asked when the MACC could complete its investigations, he said, it would depend on many factors including the inquest on Teoh’s death and the investigations by the royal commission on the mode of interrogation applied by the MACC in questioning Teoh.

The 14-day inquest is scheduled to start on Wednesday.

Jaafar said that based on the standard operating procedures, investigation into major cases would normally take a month to complete.

He was confident that that the Selangor MACC officers had followed the procedures during the interrogation of Teoh.

Apart from Ean Yong, the MACC is also investigating Teresa Kok (DAP-Kinrara), Elizabeth Wong (PKR-Bukit Lanjan), Hannah Yeoh (DAP-Subang Jaya), Dr Cheah Wing Wah (DAP-Damansara Utama), Edward Lee (DAP-Bukit Gasing) and Lau Weng San (DAP-Kampung Tunku).

MACC can say and do what they deem "right" But the facts remain that they are impartial. MACC, investigate Zakaria's mansion, Toyol bungalow, Submarine's deal, etc. The Rakyat have no confidence in MACC and INTEGRITY IS NON EXISTENCE!

"He was confident that that the Selangor MACC officers had followed the procedures during the interrogation of Teoh." - that scoundrel may be confident but the government is NOT.
That is why we have a Royal Commission of Deception to be formed.
THe MACC must be brought to account.
Justice for Beng Hock.
Yes, by all means, go ahead with the investigations, just make sure it is not a witch hunt and no more bodies turn up!
Khir Toyol amassing such a large fortune ought to be investigated to , no green light from UMNO yet?

Jaafar Mahad, wher is teh Shukri guy, reassign ka, could he be the lead interogation man resulting in death at MACC........

Yous SOP is ok la, that why RCI is required....but a young man death is not so important, only inquest will do..

MACC got 2 SOPs only in 1 Malaysia, $12.5 billion No Action Required as its UMNOed, 2nd SOP, Cow and $2,400-00 action faster than the speed of light as it is Non UMNOed.

Any congrates to MACC, maybe a Tunship on the way for a job well done........the untimely death of a young man resulting in his an unborn child never knowing the father.

If MACC were to continue with its investigations, the seven Selangor assemblymen and executive councillors must make sure that their personal safety will not be compromised and that they are given the assurance that the CCTVs on the MACC's premises and compound are re-installed and properly fitted and fully functioning, if they had been removed after TBH's death or seized by the PDRM for investigation. Otherwise there is no guarantee that we will not find more bodies sprawled on the 5th floor if you are not careful enough. If they can find no evidence of foul play in the case of TBD's death after the police inviestigations, a similar tragedy could yet occur and no one will be found responsible.

En Jaafar Mahad,

When are you going to start investigating the RM24million Tempeh Toyol's palace? That is what the public wants you to do now. For us, investigating Tempeh Toyol's palace is far more important than the RM2,400 flag supply to one ADUN!

Please let us know. . ., we are waiting for your answer!

What a shame this MACC Selangor chief is not suspended. Having had his staff and
office being used out of SOP (standard operating procedures)yet he still claimed
to be the head of that department. I am a ex civil servant during my time we are
very careful on the SOP. But nowadays some head of civil servant dares to go against this SOP all because they are put up by politician with directive to make that political party stay in power. Here we have one good example of civil servant head having a thick skin dare to face the media and tell us that he has to move forth and do those out of normal. Mindful no reasonable head of civil servant dare to do this UNLESS THERE IS A HIDDEN ORDER TO DO SO. WHO IS THIS HIDDEN MAN GIVING THIS ORDER????

Selangor MACC director: Exco probe to continue, confident of agency’s procedural integrity

Selangor MACC director confident of agency’s procedural integrity!!!
Really? That makes one of us who is confident of agency’s procedural integrity.
After all the people we have tortured, oops, invited to help us only one stupid Cina killed himself by trying to defy the law of gravity. We just provided the procedural integrity for him to do so. And we are confident that our PDRM and RCI will find us the best innocence that your money can buy.

Semua-nya OK!
Rasuah is still our middle name.
Sayang is still our little game.
Dollar akbar!
