By Amirah Saidi

I'm disappointed with Hindraf's recent actions, so thanks but no thanks. I'm sticking with the present Pakatan with its zits, boogers & warts ..... for now and till the next general elections.

Hi Amirah,
Salute to u for the article. Very open minded thinking.

Dear Fren's,

Ethnic cleansing in M'sia were identified by Hindaf. Not only Indians are effected but there are Malay and Chinese in the rular area also effected. Rich become more richer and Poor getting more poor. On forming a new party, maybe Uthaya want more representative to know public interest and help public. Nothing wrong on forming a party. Even though it’s a originally form to fight against BN on temple demolishing. Understand that PR is different than a BN but what is the difference?. In BN, there are UMNO, MCA and MIC. If we all think that PR for everyone and we don’t need a multi racial parties, I would say just abolish PAS,DAP and Keadilan. Use “PAKATAN RAKYAT” only. Just use one flag. We still can achieve what we want with one PR name. That is the real example.
About the BN agreement with Hindraf to form a party, I strongly believe that “HRP” definitely will loose the public support if they join BN. Our target is PR to rule M’sia in fair and correct method. At first pls stop blamming each other in PR. Anything can be disscuss and solve. Sit in the table. Show to public that we are unite.

HINDRAF, can you really champion the rights of the Indian community? Have the leaders of HINDRAF considered what is best for the Indian community as well as Malaysians at large? What is your role or agenda in the development of 1Malaysia?
HINDRAF must remember that you are a force to be reckoned with, where the plight of the marginalised are championed. The world began to notice that there is something beyond Apartheid when you mobilised a peaceful demonstration as a wake-up call in the administration of Malaysia. You started the engine and this has awakened Malaysians on the importance of equality and the same equality is the engine for growth in this country. Apart from the aroused social justice, Malaysians from all walks of life are also much aware about the need for clean and fair governance.
Before, July 2009, the issue of HINDRAF as a political representing the Indian community have begun to emerge. Many readers especially urban Indians do not concur with this idea for the following reasons : -
a)Too many Indian based political parties (6 all in) are representing the Indian community of only 7.8%;
b)Split of community votes which is the main agenda of certain coalition parties;
c)Weaken votes, translates to lesser command;
d)Indian community is shooting themselves in the foot;
HINDRAF must remember that for Malaysia to grow, economically & socially in the face-off with global challenge, we need to unite as Malaysians and no longer as Indians, Chinese, Malays and others. Doing away with race based politics and moving on to race free higher education, race free economic cake, are the aims and objectives of Malaysians, today.
Uthayakumar, are you aware that for the first time in history, there are 10 Indian voted in the Malaysian Parliament (http://www.thaindian.com/newsp...42713.html) as opposed to the numbers in the past General Elections? Are these figures not justifiable that Indians in Malaysia are adequately represented?
HINDRAF’s weak understanding of issues is appalling. For reference, HINDRAF’s action in seeking Federal Government’s assistance is a clear evident in short sightedness in its leaders. The issues may not have had happened, if the State government and Federal government were not the same then. Why seek assistance from someone who had stabbed you?
Recent development in Penang (Kg Buah Pala) is not to be made as a point of reference. One has to study, the factors and consequences that resulted in today’s plight of the resident at Kg Buah Pala. Allow me to share an analogy here. There was once a bank officer who accepts bribe and approves loan as he wishes. In healthy economic scenario, the bank’s collection are not affected and the officer was given promotion after promotions as there was loan growth. Then comes recession, the outstanding loans became a burden to the bank. The new officer who replaces the previous is reprimanded for a high percentage of bad debts. Who is to be blamed here? Consider this! To add on, the new officer is not given any promotions when he rectifies the wrong of his predecessor. He was just given an increment as all others in the bank. The management justify that he is lucky to have a job. Is this what HINDRAF wants?
HINDRAF must be at the forefront, educating and enlightening Malaysians to wake up and understand issues, taking the bulls by its horn. Mere barking up the wrong tree does not bring one anywhere. Leave politics to politicians. In my personal opinion, PAS, DAP And PKR have thus far, done their best, far better than what we seen on the opposite coalition.
HINDRAF and the Indian community must not have short-term memory when dealing with issues affecting Malaysians. One must look at a longer term and not at what is tomorrow. I must say that teaching a man to fish is better than to give him fish for the day…………..
