DAP condemns the mysterious death of Teoh Beng Hock in the MACC Selangor HQ in Shah Alam today. The MACC must bear full responsibility for this death as Teoh was in the custody of MACC when he fell from the 14th Floor of the Selangor MACC building.

MACC should stop its political persecution of PR, especially DAP leaders and members, that does not serve the interest of fighting corruption or justice. Such political games have caused the loss of life of a bright young idealistic DAP member.

There must be a full investigation on how he died. Unless MACC can clear its name, the public may suspect that Teoh was mistreated and MACC had a hand in his sudden death. There must be full transparency and accountability. DAP extends its condolences to Teoh’s family for this tragic loss and assures them that all steps will be taken to ensure that the culprits or those responsible be punished.

MACC:

Now the true rakyat will have the pleasure of watching MACC pressured for their failure to deliver justice in this country. MACC can never be independent because they are dependent on their political masters.

What are you going to do about this?

The public demands to know what really happened, who the interrogators were and who the last persons were with Teoh Beng Hock before he was allegedly allowed to leave the MACC premises in the wee hours of that fateful morning! Surely there are standard operating procedures under which the MACC must operate. Weren't there CCTV monitoring of the whole ugly episode?

Mr. PM, you must get to the bottom of this if you are sincere enough and truly care and believe in the proper governance of the country, not that you are just interested in getting a higher approval rating of your performance. Act now and don't let the MACC to become the WWII GESTAPO! I can't help but think that it's lynching time for the guilty ones!

I agree with wongnoball. We don't need any more Royal Commissions. Those RC formed thus far have not been very royal nor are they given due respect by the UMNO(BN) Govt.

If we are to have any Commissions, make them accountable to Parliament (or to the Court of Public Opinions).

For now, the MACC must be held accountable for the death of Teoh. Nothing less. And freeze all their activities for now until they are fully investigated.

This is another sad episode in Malaysian politics. The MACC has a major role in this unsheduled death. There will be cover ups and the truth will not be revealed. Perhaps he was forced to jump for his dear life. Only the intorogaters knows the truth. The MACC must be investigated, however like every case which involves UMNO the authorities will get away scot free. UMNOputra rules. It is time that the rakyat take drastic action to renmove the evil ruling regime.
