His trial proper has yet to start but Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today complained he is being unjustly persecuted by a prejudiced prosecution handpicked by the bane of his life, the Attorney General.

The High Court here yesterday ordered Anwar’s defence team to make their case on why the prosecution should be directed to hand over extra material it claims will not be used in the upcoming Sodomy II trial.

Subang member of parliament and lawyer Sivarasa Rasiah had earlier failed to convince the judge to postpone today’s scheduled hearing —delayed twice last week after lead counsel Sulaiman Abdullah was hospitalised — to allow Anwar to choose a replacement.

Judge Datuk Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah rejected Sivarasa’s arguments that the defence lawyers were too “junior” to present the case properly in Sulaiman’s stead.

“I’m confident there will be no injustice,” Zabidin said and pointed out that the submissions had also been written down and were ready to be read in open court.

Bereft of their veteran counsel, Anwar’s lawyers Edmund Bon and Amer Hamzah Arshad formed a tag team to argue their case that the prosecution, led by Solicitor General II Datuk Yusof Zainal Abiden, was purposely hiding key evidence that favours their client — who is facing his second sodomy charge in a decade.

"I’m confident there will be no injustice,” Zaibeedin said.....

I'm profoundly saddened by sodomy II. There isn't any justice from the outset. The judge lied. The whole world knows this is just political persecution. There will not be any fair trial. How can Najis expect the rakyat to believe him when he announced to the whole world that he would be fair to all? I pray and am sanguine that Anwar will triumph. We must ensure that BN is defeated in the next GE if we are to see hope and better future for our next generation

This is treachery of the first degree by any standards. DSAI be firm in your convictions and I pray that the Almighty's blessings would be with you throughout the trial.

We had the missing cassette tape in the sex scandal of the then Dewan Rakyat deputy Speaker, now a missing medical report that may be crucial to the defendant's case.
Is it wrong for the rakyat to suspect a political persecution?
Is it wrong for the rakyat to doubt the integrity of the prosecution?
Is it wrong for the rakyat to doubt the neutrality and impartiality of the judge involved seeing his unholy haste to prosecute Anwar?

Anwar will be back in the slammer, the Najis are determined to put him away for good. There will be no justice until the Najis are removed. The situation is grim when the judiciary and PDRM anjing works hand in hand with the ruling regime to silence any opposition. Anwar will face a kangaroo court in which his fate has already been decided.
