Liberalise the economy?

 The people are not ready.

Do away with the 30 percent quota?

The people are not ready too.

Teach mathematics and science in English?

The people are not ready also.

Our country, or our government, doesn’t seem to be able to do anything, can they? It’s not that simple, I know. But does it not ever make you wonder why we can’t do anything, and that we can’t do anything right?

The issue is not whether we should liberalise the economy. It’s not whether we should do away with the 30 quota. It not whether we should or should not teach mathematics and science in English.

The real question is, not whether we should or should not, the question is why are we not capable to do so if we want to?

Our leaders put self-interest, family interest and greed in their agenda and this leads to mega corruption. They do not have sincere intent or desire to lead the country. It is all and always for themselves.

My reckoning is political leaders esp those who are in the position to make decision are not firm and steadfast nor are they taking the overall interest of the rakyat`s into consideration but merely tossing around changes to suit their own agenda. We have some good policy that were implemented at one time or another but the follow through process that accompanied them were never really look into. Then came another policy one after another that even the leaders are not able to keep track. Good example is the teaching of Maths and Science in English into B.Malaysia vv.

Dear Diskopi

Wanna know the answer.

Simple.

The past 20 years or so, the gov'n and the minions in charge of it have been very busy making $$ untuk sendirian berhad.

In other words - too busy making castles built from the gains of corruption.

Don't believe me? Ask the ex-ex-ex MB of Selangor. He was caught with a wad of undeclared money hiding in his underwear, and when the Aussie judge asked, he answered , "I no speak Inggeris".

Until we get rid of the cancer of corruption in our society, we never be able to focus on our civil issues that plague our society.

At the end of the day, all I can say is that UMNO is selling out the very people it was designed to help; The Malays. Because it is a well known fact that command of English language is poorest amongst them.

UMNO/BN crooks have lost the political clout and will to continue with this largely unpopular policy amongst the rural Malays......part of their political manipulation to keep themselves in power at the expense of the larger interest of the nation....this is what UMNO/BN are good for and they will sacrifice whatever it takes to stay in power. These morons must be eliminated in next GE.

Why waste time in discussing just 2 subjects?

There should a fourth choice of school, Chinese, Tamil, "National" & ENGLISH schools. See how many parents would opt for English schools!!!

UMNOputras want the rest of Malaysians to learn Bahasa Melayu while the elites in UMNO and the Royals sent their children overseas. Keep the population with less knowledge of the international language and you can rule with your whim and whiff.

I dont agree.

The people are ready for the changes above. Its the govt who has no clue how to implement them. For example, noone revolted on the Maths and Science being taught in English, its just our lousy Ministry does not know how to train the teachers themselves in English. This frustration boiled over resulting in demonstration which pressure the govt to step back.

Besides the above, name me one project the govt has manage well?

No point of having an English school if the teachers came out from the same crap institutions. They can barely speak English, not to mention teach with it.

The government is blaming the teachers for their poor command of the language BUT the real reason is The ICT that came together with ppsmi is of poor quality.
I am wondering how the government spend 4.5billions.Just stroll along to many schools with was provided computers to enhance the childrens' knowledge, my teacher friends told me unending stories of how marvelous the pcs' are.A friend said, in her school only 1 0r 2 pc is still functioning out of 40 supplied.Mind you that is only after 6 months they were supplied to school. She said, any complaint to the authority will be acknowledged with "KITA TAHU MASALAH INI" .UNFORTUNATELY nothing come out of it.

Malaysia has now become a nation adrift, without a moral compass, passion, and inspiration to achieve greatness as a people. National unity has become a lost cause. There is little understanding that transcends racial and religious lines. We see one another as an enemy, not comrade or sister or brother. We have lost our humanity.

IF SOME MALAYS ARE SO BACKWARD TO BE ABLE TO STUDY IN ENGLISH, LET THEM DO IT..

PROVIDED THEY DONT FORCE THE REST OF US TO BE AS POOR AND BACKWARD WHILE THE CHILDREN OF THE UMNO LEADERS GO OVERSEAS TO STUDY IN ENGLISH....

CORRUPT UMNO REGIME MUST BE DESTROYED

More i read the comments posted on this blog, more i convinced that the malay and muslim have to stand together firmly and say what is right for them. I believe,If they were down i dont think anyone would help them. So, we can be angry with UMNO as what it is, we may despise of what PAS be as always, but we shouldnt allow any actions in anyway to destroy either one of them.I still believe in peaceful coexistant but definitely at the same time, i'm very aware the appearance of racist and chauvinists of different brands within us which are more intolerant. I'm really worry about them. It's better to be with devils you know, then angels you dont know
