While i have no personal favour againt Najib, however, i do agree what he does for the country's economy recently.
But, his determination to turn Malaysia into a competetive country is too early too by judged, at least for now. We've have got too many policy, that the old timers used to make their 'livings' (of course not just for few ten thousands, it's by millions, even billions), that he need to get rid of.

On pakatan, i know there are political indifference within the alliance, who doesn't, at least the co-operation was like another party kow-tow to a bigger one. But, please give a clearer picture to the people. How you would want to implement your economical blue print. TQ

With the FDI dropping so fast...what choice do we have but to open up? Do we want to stay closed and let the economy die slowly? It's like a drowning man grasping for a straw to stay afloat! I think Najib's brother is quite a capable advisor to his beloved brother! So...TDM ...just enjoy your old age and let the younger ones do their thingy. You had your day...just let them have theirs!

Any move now is better then no move!

Governments all over the world are struggling. Businesses are struggling and what FDI are we talking about?

Leave it free for all who wants to do busniness in Malaysia to come, just that it has to be legal business. No incentive shall be given and they pay the same rates and taxes. Let it be a level playing field for competition.

Opening up to foreign investments provides numerous opportunities for corrupt practices. And knowing most politicians from the ruling government being the most corrupted lot, this will only destract them further from serving the raayat.

More raayat money will go into sham foreign investments as our money will also be used as equity when the accoutability of these foreign investors is not within the local jurisdiction and transparency. Kick-backs and money laundering by the local BN thieves and their cronies will be hard to detect. Government may pump in more moneyof ailing company to prevent market fallout in a crisis while all the rest of the money plundered uncontrollably.

If the judiciary, executives and the upholder of law and order like the PDRM and the Anti-Corruption Commission are not credible, this will only destroy further the country's wealth. On other words, the evils will perpetuate but in a different form. You can call it a devil in disguise.

I agree with TDM that liberalising FDI rules will not save Malaysia from its current quagmire. What TDM is suggesting Datuk Najib to do is to puruse vigorously all those implicated in the V.K.Lingam judge/judicial judgement fixing scandal. Only if our judiciary is restored to its transparent glory days will foreign investors be confident in increasing ther investment in Malaysia. Does Najib have the gumption and political will to get all those hoodlums implicated in this scandal to face trial and answer for their actions. This is Che Det's challenge to Najib. Has Najib got guts to prosecute Che and his gang for the disrepute and shame that has be brought on to our once glory judiciary.

common sense to know that the foreigners are here to make profits and at the same time, offer jobs opportunities. It's a gamble for any business whether it makes or breaks.

China is a fine example, if they had not open up years ago they would not be as successful today!...Protectionalism is outdated and will cause the downfall of the country! With the world becoming so accessible now, we cannot hide under the "sarong" to do business anymore. Like it or not we will have to compete with the global players. Crippled and tongkat players will have to be eliminated like wild fire!

So beef up or be bulldoze out of the picture!

our former colonial masters, the british, was not bothered when indian conglomerates bought over jaguar and land rover, chinese conglomerates bought over rover and MG, malaysian buying over lotus, russians, americans and arabs buying over their football clubs.
It is due to this that makes Uk such a vibrant and evolving economy. Very few restrictions for anyone to invest and trade in UK.
In malaysia, we do everything in reverse. we hinder trade, crate barriers, even in education. All in the name of preserving malay culture and race.
