(The Star) IPOH: It will be a five-man panel who will preside over Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin’s appeal against a Court of Appeal’s decision declaring Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir as the rightful Perak mentri besar.

Nizar, who heard the news from his lawyers after a letter was sent by facsimile to their office on Friday, said he was disappointed.

“A case as enormous as this needs the attention of the most number of judges,” he said when contacted.

Nizar, who had earlier called for the maximum 11-judge panel, said his counsel would try and ask again for a full bench when the case is called up at the Federal Court on July 9-10.

If unsuccessful, Nizar said he saw little point to the appeal but stressed that he would not drop the case.

In a statement, Nizar’s lawyer Leong Cheok Keng expressed disappointment that the letter gave no reason or explanation for the five-man bench.

“This is our client’s last avenue of appeal. If Nizar’s application for leave is dismissed by the five-man bench, this will be the end of the litigation.”

If you have no confidence in the Judiciary than forget it. Rather apealing for 11 members and so on. They have given you 5 members, so if you feel safe go ahead. I feel that you are wasting time and money, I might be wrong. Good luck

If Disgusting Paul, the infamous Sodomi judge is one of the 5, you should know the verdict. This title should be renamed "5 kangaroos on the Bench" smilies/grin.gif

Let's see whether the Federal Court tells us to throw away the constitution or not ...

Then we will know what to do when we give 2/3 majority to PR, since the precedent will have been set ...

YB Datuk Nizar,
Take heart. Though you did not get the 11 judges you are entitled to ask for to ensure justice is metted out to you in the appeal, the case is not just about you and the impostor Zambry. Actually, the case is about the level of integrity of the judiciary in Malaysia. If the Federal Court rules against you, it will confirm that justice is dead in Malaysia. It will also be another major factor favourable to you and Pakatan in the inevitable Perak state elections which will happen within the next 1 year because of factors beyond the control of the evil UMNO/BN.

I am willing to bet with you guys that, two of the five federal judge who is going to preside the case is the CJ itself (which is a known member of UMNO and a person who himself has burn his marriage certificate to his 2nd wife in order to avoid her getting a fair share of his wealth), the 2nd one is the Augustine Paul (which no need for me to introduce, you guys bet of his judgement is as good as mine). The one that for sure won't be on the list is Gopal Sri Ram and the Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak.

Foregone conclusion. They will want to keep their "bottom warm" thus ensuring a good pension. Who cares about Justice! That's a Reality. Good, honest and professional Judges are a rarity these days like the High Court Judge. I salute thee!

Sad, very sad indeed - Malaysia.

I still maintain those 3 greedy, spineless and unprincipled bastards screwed up.
As for the appeal, I have no doubt the verdict is a forgone conclusion.
It maybe 3-2 to make it look close.
Either way, BN will make Perak pay for votng in PR.
The Sultan will not intervene due to their families commercial interest and exposure, and as such has compromised his ability to rule effectively

Nizar, you have my utmost respect but do save some dignity for yourself.
There is no way that UMNO will allow Pakatan back into Perak, and that's a fact.
Look at the turnout in Ipoh when they dragged Sivakumar off his rightful place.
The people are afraid of the BN backlash - don't force them to do the things they area scared of doing
Instead, just work for the State and the people will vote you right back into the MB's chair.

DS Nizar,
The odd is 1 in 25 million but it is not about winning or loosing; it is about the "integrity of the judiciary in Malaysia" as Just Gan said above. Whatever the judgement they gave it will be a document that their children, grand children and great grand children will have to live with long after their human flesh and bone has turn into dust. Let us 25 million rakyat not to forget what these 5 judges decide on this case. What goes around will come around and injustice will come to haunt the future generation.
I wish you the best as you seek for justice in the right way.
