(NST) KOTA KINABALU: Former Federal Commercial Crime Investigations Department director Datuk Ramli Yusoff had used a police plane here when he was on leave, a court was told.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan told the Sessions Court that Ramli was on leave from June 12 to June 24, 2007.

Ramli was accused of using a police Cessna Caravan plane to conduct an aerial survey on two plots of land at Ulu Tungku in Lahad Datu with two of his partners of Syarikat Kinsajaya Sdn Bhd.

Ramli, who was a former Sabah police commissioner, is alleged to have committed the offence at the Police Air Unit base in Tanjung Aru here at 7.50am on June 15 in 2007.

He was released on RM10,000 bail and faces a jail term of between 14 days and 20 years, and a RM10,000 fine, or both, upon conviction.

Responding to a question from Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission deputy public prosecutor Kevin Morais, Musa confirmed that he did not issue any order for Ramli to conduct security surveillance in Sabah between November 2006 and July 2007. On Nov 25, Ramli had also visited Sabah.

Morais was assisted by Joyce Blasius while Ramli was represented by James Tsai. Hearing before Sessions Court judge Supang Lian continues.

Coming from someone who has said on record "He may or may not lie in court", yeah I believed that you are testifying because you want to clean up the police force smilies/smiley.gif

While you are testifying, please also bring up the case where Badawi has used Malaysian private executive jet on his personal visit to Bodrum to view his multi-million yatch together with Ananda Krisna.
