A motion by DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang (Ipoh Timur) to debate the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal in Parliament was rejected this morning.

Lim, in a press conference after Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin rejected his motion, also questioned the absence of Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat in Parliament.

"Was Ong so sure that my motion for an urgent debate on the PKFZ scandal today would be rejected by the speaker, that he could just go off overseas?" Lim asked.

Ong is currently abroad on official duty and is scheduled to return to Malaysia on 20 June 2009.

The PKFZ, an integrated 1,000-acre zone offering facilities for international cargo distribution, was approved by cabinet in 1999. In 2001, it was estimated to cost RM1.9 billion.

However, a PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) audit report highlighted procedural improprieties which led to the cost of the PKFZ project ballooning to RM7.5 billion.

This figure is expected to rise to RM12.5 billion, as the Port Klang Authority (PKA), which manages the PKFZ, will be unable to repay its Finance Ministry soft loan on schedule.

"Did Ong get specific approval from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to be on the run from Parliament this week, to avoid parliamentary accounting?"

I thought the whole of west port, including the PKFTZ, was conceived by Mahathir's eldest son. He was trying to build a total logistics mega-company, which includes (A)ships -(He took over PNSL (Pernas shipping line)), which later bought Hong Kong's bulk carrier company for hefty premium, started (B) transmile (which is now involved in accounting scandal) and (C) west port projects including PKFTZ. Lee liong Sik used his son as nominee. This rumour was in the nineties. Looks like it could be true.

Those billions are not theirs but ours and that is why they seems to say nevermind. The conduct of the speaker in disallowing the motions smack of despicing us, malaysian citizens, whose taxes are being abused to enrich the politicians in BN.

The people must insist that those responsible must be help accountable and we eman not just the PKFZ but all abuse of power and position.

**** them the billions will erase poverty in Malaysia overnight yet tey keep saying the govt has no money for the poor but have muh for themselves.

Get rid of all crooks, if they do not get rid of themselves, Malaysians must seek to skin them one by one.

Should follow Perak and physically eject this moron of a speaker out of the house. Where else can you openly debate this issue except in the House. They know that they will not be able to explain the losses. Corruption was everywhere in the deal and who is more corrupt than those who knowingly play along in trying to cover up. Yes we have an absolutely corrupted speaker of the house. I will get even with him soon.

""Did Ong get specific approval from Najib Razak to be on the run from Parliament this week, to avoid parliamentary accounting?"

It wont be of a surprise at all knowing that the scandals were initiated by the socalled ""EFFICIENT UMNO/BN(Beginning of end)Govt"" They are scared shit of PR questioning them why they didnt stop the loosing of Rakyats money into their cronies pockets.Yet these UMNO/BN ministers refused when Pak Lah suggested for them to declare their assets. Guest why these idiots think Rakyat are stupid cannot figure out why! Rakyat will punish you all UMNO/BN( Beginning of end) in every byelections and 13th General Election.

MACC acted with such urgency and efficiency over cars and cows matters, but a 12 billion ringgit fiasco is not considered 'urgent' enough for Parliament debate?

It never occurred to Najib why the rakyat is so damn angry at the BN government?

Another case of "we told u so"...
This MCA leader as a Minister is unacceptable and his contempt is at the behest of the PM I'm sure.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Totalitarianism (or totalitarian rule) is a political system that strives to regulate nearly every aspect of public and private life. Totalitarian regimes or movements maintain themselves in political power by means of an official all-embracing ideology and propaganda disseminated through the state-controlled mass media, a single party that controls the state, personality cults, control over the economy, regulation and restriction of free discussion and criticism, the use of mass surveillance, and widespread use of state terrorism.
