Any surprise with the revelation that the authorities in the likes of the Terengganu MB KNEW ABOUT something was wrong with it and nothing was done!

By Why LIE-dis n Lie-dat

PWD informed a year ago
KUALA TERENGGANU: The State Public Works Department was told about the defects to the roof of the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium a year ago.
And when nothing was done, Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said called a meeting with the PWD three weeks ago and reminded them to look into the problem...NST 4, 2009

It's typical isn't it, The fellos especially those whose a*# is on the line now all claim they have FIRST KNOWLEDGE being the smart aleck but NOONE listened to them so it's not their fault really.

Though not on the same scale in terms of money loss than the PKFleecedZone, those PKA and Minister of Transport fellos knew the water was raising till their neck and still allowed the loss to happen! And then say, WE ARE NOW WORKING on it to lessen the impact, fallout, whatever.

The point is, IT HAS HAPPENED and it's a mess.

The resaon why Terengganu Stadium collapsed as they now claim, is possible a design flaw.

But then they must surely also look into perhaps the use of substandard building materials for the frame and the concrete? Too much dependent on local materials perhaps? Were they perhaps mixing the wrong building materials using too much of one local content?

Don't be surprised that these fellos who don't want to take responsibility and blame, will look for some scapegoats to hide any nothing of something fishy in the contruction process. Perhaps they will conveniently blame it on the quality of the materials used?

There are lots of construction companies that use sub-standard designs and cheaper materials and lesser quantities than needed in building a project. This is common especially for government projects undertaken by the Ministry of Works and PWD. This is how the companies make lots of extra money which they use as kickbacks to the government officials.

Not only the construction company should be held responsible but also the government engineer who approved all stages of the project should be held accountable. The norm is for the construction company to pay off the government engineer to blindly sign all stages of approval.

YOU ARE the Menteri Besar. WHY you did not do anything about it if you already know!!!!!! Just becasue you inform you consider you have done you responsibility???

If just to inform the department we dont need a Menteri Besar. We already have Nadeswaran and Terrence Frenandez from the Sun to do that!!!!!!!!

Since you admit you know about it before it collapse you should RESIGN immediately!!

UMNO & BN has more viruses and sickness than the PKFZ or collapsed roof. Already many has been exposed and many more are waiting to explode. And yet they are planning to create new ones like appointing Amir Sham to head NEP.

UMNO and BN cannot be cured anymore. This cancer has to be removed.

another thing they will say...don't start pointing finger!!

well i say..lets us start pointing finger, lets start finding who is responsible, lets start getting somebody to bear the consequences. I we don't start pointing finger, the same culprit will, who knows, do the same thing again..and again..and again...and maybe next time we won't be so lucky...lives can perish..

this unfortunate things happened once to often..and most of the time, the culprit gets away..oh heck...we don't even know who's the culprit...except for some shadowy figure made as scapegoat...

remember MRR2 bridge crack?..luckily the bridge didn't fell off...one of party involve is the PWD...and also few other so-called first class project mishap...

I am really sad. Its always the same story - blame in on others or push it to others. A few example would be ' Tun Mahathir distancing himself from the Chin Peng issue'( can't he just state his stand on this issue?) and PM pushing the Perak crisis to the Sultan of Perak ( when he is clearly the boss). Manohara's problem is started by her own mother ( when there is no thorough investigation into the allegations, whether is true or not ?). Where is and when are those in charge going to own up to their responsibility? Clearly we need to stress and enforce the ethics and habits of - CAT , Competent, Accountable and Transparent. Forever we will not improve and progress if the explanations and actions keep repeating in a cycle. Let's pray.

No finger pointing, insinuations or speculation - none.

There is only ONE person culpable while the bit 'players' plus other factors are merely secondary considerations. We must all thank MAHATHIR MOHAMMED for bringing destruction right before our eyes. The fruits of his labour are in full blossom bearing its poison.

Never has there been a mega disaster of such magnitude, losses unquantifiable from the hands of just one man with damages yet unforeseen just waiting to be sprung. Look no further folks, no need for any soul searching and just lay blame on this sorry excuse of a wrecking ball.

Well, I guess you can't send building materials to prison, and they can't reply either, even if it is not their fault. But Malaysian "leaders" are getting things easy. They can practically get away with murder, so to speak, so what's a "little" corruption here and there.
