(The Star) - The PPP leadership dispute cannot be resolved before the party’s 56th general assembly on June 7.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the Registrar of Societies (ROS) would need between two weeks and a month to carry out investigations as the disputing leaders had given conflicting statements.

“The preliminary report (from the ROS) shows that certain matters need further clarification from both (PPP president Datuk M. Kayveas and (Senator Datuk T.) Murugiah.

“ROS needs more information on certain matters which are actually beyond what meets the eye,’’ he told reporters after closing the Titian Gemilang V motivational programme organised by the Overseas Umno Alumni Club for 1,800 Form Five students from the peninsula.

He said the ROS was checking the validity of an emergency general meeting where Murugiah was declared the new president, adding that it had not been ascertained whether there was a quorum.

“The ROS will keep the Prime Minister and me informed once they have concluded investigations,’’ he said.

In an immediate response, Kayveas said the AGM would carry on as planned this Sunday.

“The registrar has allowed us to go ahead with the AGM,’’ he said.

However, registrar Datuk Md Alias Kalil clarified he did not actually do so.

“I leave it to the party to make decisions based on its constitution.

“If the leaders feel what they are doing is right and in accordance with the party constitution, they can just carry on. If there are disputes later, we will investigate.

“Our investigation will be based on the constitution drawn by a party or society,’’ he said.

Typical of PPP and all these BN component parties. They are in it for the spoils and is now fighting for the last dip in the barrel before the next GE which they all know will be their Amedagon. So all the rats are out scrambling for the last chance to raid the larder.

As I said Kayves will be out, the decision to kick Kayves out was made when Najib became PM. Watch my word!
