Signs are clear that BN is slowing breaking apart. Most of the key component parties in the coalition are facing internal crisis. The crisis was a pent up frustration generated from the last general election in 2008.

The new MCA leadership under the much respected Ong Tee Keat has to carry the party's past baggage which has developed into some ugly controversies for himself. The PKFZ scandal is a make or break for Ong. He should be applauded for supporting a release of the PwC audit report which has implicated several BN politicians and exposed gross mismanagement of the free zone.

However, the public will judge him based on the actions that will soon be taken against the perpetrators. Based on several high profile exposes in the past, the public is growing sceptical of the government's ability and willingness to haul up those whose were implicated in the scandals - V.K Lingam, Kugan, IPCMC et cetera.

Ong has urged the government to take a stern action against those who were allegedly involved in the PKFZ fiasco which may cost the public more than RM12 billion over the next 30 years. However, Ong should be reminded that he is part of the government too and a number of personalities named in the report were leaders of his party.

MCA crisis is deeper than merely the PKFZ scandal. Until now, the new leadership has yet to inspire a turnaround for the party. The Bukit Gantang by-election was a good indication for MCA on the level of Chinese community support it is currently enjoying. Anything below 50 percent should be taken as a crisis for the party. In that by-election, BN only managed less than 20 percent of Chinese votes.

umno is caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. on the one hand, if it "protects" mca by downplaying the enormity of the pkfz debacle, it will further confirm its impotence at good governance and thus drive another nail in hastening its demise. On the other hand, if it jettisons its tainted running dogs, the rest of the canine pack (component parties) will one day be like the pulau ketam dogs, left to fend for themselves.

UMNO - Last Man Standing?

Can they make a last stand? Can they really stand? With all that hit them, I doubt so. UMNO will be the first to perish.

The writing is on the wall, as the saying goes.

Time and again, MCA has proven to be a kaki bodek, a slave to the Ketuanan Melayu, a bootlicker.

I certainly do not expect MCA to do otherwise.

And I will be the first to cheer when MCA eventually gets booted out by the rakyat together with the rest of BN/UMNO come GE13.

I can't wait for the day to come.

Believe me, this PKFZ scandal WILL COME to NOTHING at the end of the day. If the Royal Commission on Lingam, TDM, Yusoff Chin, Vincent Tan & company can come to NOTHING, inspite of the findings linking them to manipulating the Judicary, what is this 'ONG TEE KEAT COMMISSION' can come to?? ZERO!!! Nothing will happen! Just mark my words. I will eat my shoes if ANY of the 'BIG-GUNS' can be brought to book. Those people like Ling Liong Sik, Chan Kong Choy and Ong Ka Ting and many other top MCA people should be held responsible and asked to explained. Or is it that they have, in Chinese saying, 'gone up to heaven' and nobody can TOUCH THEM. Don't forget, having honorific titles like Tun, Tan Sris and Datuks does NOT, I repeat DOES NOT place these people above the LAW. That is why, sometimes, the people HAVE NO RESPECTS FOR PEOPLE WITH ALL THE HONORIFIC TITLES. If TDM and Yusof Chin can be called to testify, I don't see why those mentioned cannot be called. They owed THE PEOPLE AN EXPLANATION!! This is tax-payers money and NOT THEIR Fathers' money.

It would be bad news for the opposition if BN falls apart.

We will then be replacing one dictatorship for another potential dictatorship. The reason why Pakatan looks reasonable compared to BN is because BN is in the cesspit.

Pakatan does not have to try hard to look good. A vibrant and meaningful democracy is predicated on check and balance and reasoned debate. BN neeeds to reform in the interest of itself and Pakatan Rakyat.

As it is there are so many fundamental issues like freedom of worship and equality which have not been addressed squarely by Pakatan.

To name a few:

1) Will Pakatan categorically allow Malays who are non-Muslim to openly declare their faith without facing prosecution by the Syariah Courts?

2)Will academic excellence from non-Malays be recognised and promoted?

3) Will university entrance be based on merit? Will there be a stop to the deliberate 'dumbing down' of academic institutions because of racial considerations and envy?

4)Will Pakatan provide equal opportunities for all its citizens be it in the civil service, army, police etc?

5) Will Pakatan make constitutional changes which will abrogate any racist provisions such as the fact that a non-Muslim and non-Malay cannot be the Chief Minister?
