Why I never respect anyone who works for the Star PDF Print

Dear Hafidz Baharom,

I am a pro UMNO blogmaster, feel it is out of a sense of duty to the nation that I have to pen this article. I note that you write for a newspaper I continously disparage and ridicule.

Today, you have proven my case - the Star has ceased to be a news reporting organization by having their blog or their newspaper devote some coverage to air publically your disrespect towards RPK. I am not sure whether its the blog or the newspaper, I stopped buying the Star ages ago and I don't visit your website often, as I feel the domain star.com.my does not do justice to any browser, even if its Microsoft Internet Explorer. The web browser is a product of much intelligence and great thought, the contents hosted on that domain, is not. I also do not accept the argument that some people buy the Star Weekend edition to line their dog cage.

Eventhough I do not own a dog, I do believe that dogs deserve better.

Why on earth would you consider it news worthy to air your opinion? Heck I honestly don't care what you feel, but as a newspaper reporter I'd be more interested in how you report the news. I'd be interested to find out why is that there is supposed RM 12 billion leak in the Port Klang FTZ? Malaysians have been accustomed to hearing about RM 1 - 2 billion dollar shenanigans, but I don't think we can actually handle 10 digits just yet. What on earth happened ? Shouldn't this be something you in spare time masquarding as a journo, would care to share to the reading public. I mean, how the heck can someone or something blow such a huge amount of money?

Or perhaps the Star could actually try to frame the discussion on the rising levels of snatch thefts that now result in people getting killed. The way I look at it, I sincerely think that the police suggestion that snatch thefts be named and shamed is a very inadequate way of dealing with this menace. Maybe a series of articles examining the profile of the perpatrators, their motivation for crime and honestly, the most pressing question, who acts as the fence for the stolen goods could be more illuminating.

Or a discussion on how to take the country forward. Blogs like mine exist because you and your ilk don't do their job. Because the Star fails to argue out the pros and cons behind the 1 School proposal, I have to do it. Because the Star fails to try and frame a discussion on how best to grow the countries GDP, I have to do it. Because the Star fails to even report accurately, the accepted innuendos behind the norms of diplomatic speak, I have to do it.

So Hafidz, please take this with as little or as much salt as you want to. Nobody gives a crap about your personal opinion, just get you and your colleagues to do your jobs with a bit more diginity and respect to your intended readers, and perhaps, I'd recommend the Star as the litter lining for one's favorite pet.

Spot on. I actually use it to line the litter lining for my pet. Better still I use all all MSM products. My pet does his most litter (poop) in the morning and he usually does it on some guy the name sounds like shit ( najis). To make it even better, I dont buy it, I get it free from the recyling corner in my apartment.

After the famous LAYANG LAYANG operation where the star's balls were squeezed..the paper became a pussycat paper.

it si never citical of the government and its servants now.

WE MUST UNDERSTAND THAT THE STAR IS A CHINA QUAI PAPER..AND it remains so now focusing on making money...the arterial vein that supplies the excitement and euporia for the owners.

Truth is not whole reported but moderated and presented with veiled statements for the reader to guess what is and what is not.

for the time being the SUN paper has taken a more rightful stand on many issues and is direct about what it reports.

The Star fails to deliver....I only buy it for adverts on
Saturdays...

You are pro UMNO bollockmaster, you dispise people working for Star. That's fine for me. But, how about people working for Utusan, "New" Straits Times? Are these "mainstream" newspapers any better than the Stars? Do you respect them?

What are the differences between people controlling the paper, people behind the control? These journalist are mere wage earners. Some of them are being "constrained" into writing garbages. Your disrespect for them is just a mere guise for your dislike that the Star is a MCA owned paper. Am I right? But MCA is just another mouth piece for UMNO. So where your dislike originates? You have the answer as much as I have.

Until the day your UMNO controlled papers provide similar freedom to journalism, you have not even a good reason to dispise others working for their living, let alone bollocking for your master.

Btw, could we know who is this pro UMNO bollocmaster? No names given. Very much I express my distastes to Hadfiz's article, he has a name. Also, I don't buy Utusan, NST. The Stars only on special days.

You mean The Star newspaper is still around? Pardon my ignorance but I haven't bought the Star for ages. I thought they had closed shop.

Why waste your money to buy this or other government-controlled newspapers? They only spoil your morning when you read them. I would rather get my news straight from the internet. They are much more newsworthy and it's FREE.
