(The Star) - PETALING JAYA: PAS will not backstab PKR in Penanti but will honour the Pakatan Rakyat agreement to allocate the seat to PKR, said party information chief Mahfuz Omar.

He said this was despite grassroots members demanding to field a PAS candidate for the state seat.

“We will help PKR in Penanti, as how PKR helped PAS win the Bukit Gantang parliamentary seat recently,” he said, adding that he only found out via the media that PAS members in Permatang Pauh threatened not to activate the election machinery if a PKR candidate contested the state seat.

“But PAS will stick to the agreement made before the 2008 general election,” he said.

Penanti seat was left vacant following the resignation of elected representative Moham-mad Fairus Khairuddin.

PKR had announced on Tuesday that Dr Mansor Othman would contest the seat and later announced that Dr Mansor would also be appointed the Deputy Chief Minister 1 if he won the state seat in the May 31 by-election.

Speculation is rife that Pakatan Rakyat leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had forced Mohammad Fairus to quit to pave the way for Dr Mansor to play a lead role in the state administration.

On Permatang Pauh PAS’ threat to shut down its election machinery, Mahfuz said it would not adversely affect the Pakatan Rakyat by-election campaign.

“We move our machinery on a national level. It will be coordinated by PAS national elections director Datuk Mustafa Ali,” he said.

Mustafa had said that PAS would not grab the seat from PKR.

Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim had denied that the Permatang Pauh PAS division had wanted to pull out from the Penanti by-election campaign, citing it as just a rumour.

Speaking to reporters after chairing the state exco meeting yesterday, he aid Anwar, Lim Guan Eng (DAP secretary-general), Lim Kit Siang (DAP adviser) and Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang (PAS president) had agreed that the Penanti seat be contested under the PKR flag.

Please read this news from 'The Star' with a pinch of salt. If you guys know how PAS work, you will know that insubordination among PAS members is something unheard before in the past and I believed that is the way it is now. Even before the party decided to finalize on any candidates, they ground machinery will already started putting up flag etc. Unlike UMNO which won't gear up until it is known who the candidate is and even so, some of them who thought he would contest but not selected will start to back stab.

Trust me, the same will work here in Penanti. Have faith in PAS.

Contrary to the false depiction by the MSM of the disunity in Pakatan, I relish, enjoy and appreciate the unique and mature manner the members of Pakatan interact among themselves.

Here, we see genuine cooperation. Sure, there are differences. There will always be as it is natural. But what pleases me is that they have the sincerity to voice their dissatisfaction when something runs against their principles and beliefs.

This is so UNLIKE BN where dictatorship rules. UMNO, being the taiko, decides and silences all others. So, other component parties turn into 'yes-men', never to argue and forever tied to a master-slave relationship.

The worse of them are MCA, MIC, Gerakan, and those filth parties from Sabah and Sarawak.

Pls tell those PAS Youth goons not to be powercrazed be'cos whoever the candidate in Penanti will be DCM. PAS have been given the chance in Kelantan, Kedah and Perak. Even in Perak, DAP is supposed to be the MB and not PAS. But for the sake of muhibah, DAP is willing to make way for PAS with Nizar as the MB. Till now, DAP is still recognising Nizar as the legitimated MB of Perak and throwing all the support for PAS in Perak. Pls use your brain, PAS Youth.

Thank You, Mahfuz! That's the spirit of PR!

Pls check out those PAS Youths ... perhaps they are impatient and would be potential 'kataks' in future - keep an eye on them. We all need to look at the bigger picture .... down with BN and power to the rakyat!

Of course, MSM will take every opportunity to blow up apparent dis-satisfaction of PR. They are shitting in their pants. Let's walk shoulder-to-shoulder (PAS, PKR & DAP) and show BN what 1Malaysia is really all about!

Go for 5-0!!!!
