Recently I heard from an old acquaintance, a businessman. What he told me made me feel very sad.

He is an honest person, soft-spoken, working hard to support a wife and children.

He had a client who refused to pay him for work he did.

The work was completed on time to specification, the client was simply trying to cheat him.

The work involved a lot of labour and materials, so not being paid put my acquaintance in a difficult financial situation.

He wanted to report the matter to the police, but felt that to do so was useless, he felt the police and courts would ignore his case, or take years to deal with it (or perhaps demand a large sum of money to "investigate").

He felt he had no choice but act contrary to his upbringing and what he feels is ethical and moral.

He hired a gangster to visit the client, for what he felt was a reasonable fee.

My acquaintance reported to me that within a short period of time, once the gangster had paid a visit to the client, they had "no further problem" with the client, payment was made.

What makes me sad is my acquaintance has so completely lost faith in the Malaysian courts and Malaysian police that they felt they had nobody to turn to for help; with the exception of a gangster.

It is sad that Malaysians have so lost faith in the government.

It is sad is that under the BN/UMNO regime the courts and the police have become tools of the ruling elite.

Presently, the courts and police serve every wish of the VVIPs and VIPs.

For the common people, the majority of the people, the courts and police are merely sources of frustration, harassment and failed expectations.

This is TDM's legacy, replace the courts, judiciary and PDRM with gangsterism and this is exactly what we see happening today, UMNO/BN acted like samseng when they hijack Perak State government.......remember Kerisham and his keris waving, act of samseng.

Failed expectations = failed nation. UMNO has deviated so far from principles of governance that it is a ganster organisation. The judiciary, the police, army, the government servants and the anti-corruption agency - all have failed the public and only serve UMNO's ends. It has no conscience and principles any longer except to stay in power and continue the corruption. The only way out is to deny UMNO any further abuse of power.

I have a similar story. My friend who did a "big" job for a prominent UMNO Tengku guy has a hard time getting paid. He only got the 10% deposit for the job but no further payment. The job was completed 4 years ago and up till now he received nothing. What to do? He knows it is a lost course. So, please don't trust the UMNO guys.

The story nowaday is like this.
First you are introduce to Along and then this Along lend you money. After they lend you the money they will be after you till you are broke becos their interest varies from thime to time depending n whether you pay on time or late. This Along use gangsters to try and make you bankrupt. In the end you have no choice but to lodge police report. The police who are 'fed' by these gangsters or on their payroll will advise you to negotiate with the gangsters. Then they will put more pressure on you to find some more money to pay the police to act for you.The police will pretend to help you to negotiate with the gangsters and in the end it's you who will be more bankrupt by borrowing more from Along.
So you see infact the gansters and the police team up to make life more difficult for you. They will try and squeeze every cent out of you.
Be careful. They are not here to protect you but to empty your pocket.

Pakac Luteb, kuku burung,

Nothing new. This has been going on for the past twenty years or so, if I am not mistaken. Just only that it is getting worse. They want a first class service from you, but payment wise, they think you are their slaves. I have seen many.

Have you seen that some of these so call "human" on their spending spree on porsche cars, big houses, new wives, etc once they get the project down payment? But insulting thing is that his/her poor workers have to go on "starving" with no monthly salary.

I am not for your acquaintance to getting bouncers to reclaim the bill. But the irony is something that I can't deny.

Even Bala & family can disappear, Ah longs do this & that, mat rempits terrorising innocent citizens, Lingam "looks like me", immigration records wiped out & can used C4 on a pregnant mum.... so hiring a gangster is nothing new as the govt encourages such laws of the jungle. I would do the same as last resort if the govt is useless.

The govt refuses to admit the fact that their incompetency at administration through the outdated and corrupt NEP, is what precipitates the problem.
When the administrators have no convictions, and do not believe in a viable philosophy or practice ethical conduct, the system will inevitably fail.

The Govt seems to think that all it takes is newer laws upon newer laws, so as to bring about order, rule of law and justice. It then resorts to repressive actions to stifle the discontent among the masses - to keep the peace. However the fact is that isn't the case, and this approach is nowhere near the required remedy. This simply tightens the lid on a boiling cauldron - which will sooner or later explode.

When the system fails, the people seek recourse in the underworld.
By default, it is therefore, Govt of the day that encourages the rule of the underworld, while keeping up the pretense of the rule of law. In due time, as per the prescription, the country will sooner or later descend into chaos - ruled by those who have no regard for the Federal Constitution or the Rule of Law.

joeawk,

How to change government when 50% eligible voters support BN plus cheating with phantom votes, postal votes, bribery, etc. - Bodohland citizens need to wake up.

It is getting this people to realise this fact is the tough part. I have come across voters of age, refusing to register to vote & feeling very proud of themselves "they have never voted before".

The best & most effective treatment for this bloody country is a Mother of All Crashes. Economic crash, Ringgit crash & Stock Market crash (say KLCI around 201pts would be great).

Dont blame anyone but YOURSELVES... this is an attitude common to Malaysians, Malays, Indians and Chinese

Greed is the motivation and the modus operandi is Tidak Apa... or in my language "I dont give a fusk"

In my 50 yrs in the building industry I have never seen workmanship as abysmally awful as i've seen in Malaysia. Ignorance is part of the answer but greed and IDGAF are the driving forces

The ethics of Malaysians are truly awful.. trust, reliability, service and quality are almost non existent concepts in this country...

Malaysia is all ME ME ME ME ME ME and PROFIT

THE REAL PICTURE IS WORSE

Barisan , Umno murder, rob, swindle hundreds of billions and kidnap, torture and they are showing a good example to rakyat to do the same because they have twisted and made their own laws to suit themselves with the permission of Agong and Perak Saitan. Judges are being bought everyday and 95%of police are corrupted and can be bought and many work with criminals to swindle and kill rakyat.
When Barisan, judges and police are useless in following the law, what do you expect rakyat to do? They will take the law in their own hands. Sooner or later Umno Barisan families will also be hurt very badly( if it has not happened yet) because good people turns bad and ther is so much people can take. So they use force against Umno people.
The situation is actually worse than most rakyat knows. Crime is shooting up because little law and order exists.

Pakac Luteb,

You can't expect much from this government. What your friend did is exactly what thousands of people are doing.
How can you go to the government for help when the head of the government, the PM, is directly involved in a brutal murder?
How can you go to the police when they are the hired murderers in thousands of deaths?

It is because the gangsters are more powerful than the police.

Believe me, this country can never be saved. And why?

Because if a new clean, efficient govt took over (new clean govt is just fairy tale) governance of Bodohland, a lot of changes will have to take place. I mean MAJOR changes; a lot of civil servants will be sacked! Can or not ? Sure cannot one!

I think many Malays will not be able to accept these drastic changes. And why so? Because they will be brainwashed convincingly that the Malays are losing 'political power'. In actual fact, what the b@stards are saying is "umno is losing political power".

Just look at Selangor: we have Khalid Ibrahim but how much can he do? Down the line, a lot of these govt servants are leftovers from umno heydays. You have to get rid of these useless heads & tails before you see any serious dedication. How to get rid of so many? If u try in the real professionals to control them, I think these leftovers from khir tempe toyol administration will throw a fit.

Try to convince the Malays that if a new govt comprising of all three or many races will look after their needs, their rights, etc, what are the chances they will believe? I wud say the chances are less than 10%. So there is no way this country can improve or go on the right path. What reform? Pleez. It won't happen. Corruption is runs in the blood veins of this country. It is becoming Malaysia's DNA. You can't remove it. And you can't have efficiency, honesty, good governance with corruption & abuse of power side by side.

Pakac Luteb, please allow me to correct your misconception about the word Gangsters. The Mat Rempits are gangsters of today without any Code of Honour and direction.
The 'gangster' that you had spoken is actually someone that follow cetain principles in life:- "I shall pay you what I owe and I shall collect what is due to me." Simple logic, isn't it?
Probably, your friend does not trust the Courts because under normal circumstances, the victim got no budget to pay his lawyer to play golf with the Trial Judge. Whereas, the defendants or the conmen can afford to pay their lawyers to play golf with the Trial Judge. That's why the Public had lost faith in the Judiciary since 1987. We may end up like Indonesia and/or the Philipines where 'Street Justice' is the Order of the Day. When a poor man's daughter got raped, the Police are never bothered to take action! That's why Indonesians and/or Filipinos always resort to 'Street Justice'! They simply have no faith in their Police and Judiciary! Sad but true.
Hopefully, Malaysians will not end up what the Indonesians and/or Filipinos have been practising and/or are still practising such 'Street Justice'! smilies/angry.gif smilies/sad.gif smilies/shocked.gif
