(The Star) - The Yang di Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin has given his consent for Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to be sworn in as Malaysia’s sixth Prime Minister at 10am on Friday, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan said Wednesday.

He said Tuanku Mizan had also consented to grant an audience to Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib at 10am Thursday for Abdullah to relinquish the post and seek consent to appoint Najib as the new prime minister.

“Tuanku Mizan gave his consent at an audience with Abdullah before the Cabinet meeting this (Wednesday) morning,” Mohd Sidek said in a statement here. “The Yang diPertuan Agong had given his consent for Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to be presented his letter of appointment as Prime Minister and to take his oath of office, loyalty and confidentiality at Istana Negara at 10am on Friday,” the statement added. - Bernama

The Chief Secretary to the Government? I am not sure about this. I thought the anouncement should come from the Yang Di Pertuan Agong's Office? If I remember correctly, thats the protocol. Oh, well I might be wrong.

I am very much disappointed now. Despite knowing he is the biggest crook in the country, Agong still gave his consent to appoint him as next PM. I will not surprise if one day Malaysia will be posted in Ebay for auction!!!

May Allah save all of us!

This IS the saddest day of my life. Malaysia will revert back to the Dark Ages. Malaysia will become the land of murderers, evil-doers, crooks, and nincompoops. I was hoping Najis will be stopped in his tracks. I was also hoping the murderers of Altantuya will be sent to HELL!!! What happened to all the rhetorics from Zaid, Ku Li, Anwar???!

Shouldn't the keeper of the ruler's seal be the person who make such announcements on behalf of the palace ?

I was clinging to this little glimmer of hope that he will be stopped in his tracks. The institutions no longer care for the rakyat. We seemed to be fighting a losing battle while the crooked continue to lie and plunder. I almost feel ashamed to be a Malaysian.

Let's us pray that something happens at the 11th hour to prevent the appointment of such devious character to helm the country.

It's a Black Friday for all malaysians tomorrow.Sad state of affairs prevails in our beautiful country. There is NO monarchy,no judicial system,no military,no police,no honest politicians to help the public in this country. It will be sheer hell for anyone opposing BN and Mamkthir from doomsday[tomorrow]. We should off our lights for an hour[similar to Earth's day] in condolence. At least our electricity bills will be down.Look forward to increase in tolls, water, light, phone and food.We will be footing the bills for their luxury,as we did in khir toyo's case. The government is not going to curb the luxuries of our conmen ministers but reward them.
