We Are Who Our Government Is……..DAMN!!!! PDF Print

The other day at a local mall, walking past one of those indoor kiddies’ amusement centre, I chanced upon an argument  over who got to a games machine first and therefore should be the first to play on it……..Guess what? One was a kid, no bigger than 10 years old and the other was an ADULT!!!!!

Then there was this other incident where a little girl came into the ladies’ toilet looking like she’s going to wet her pants anytime soon, but did the adult, next in line to the next available cubicle allow the poor child to use the loo first? NOPE!!! Of course, being there first, the adult have every right to go use the loo first, but it would have been a decent thing to do if the poor child had been allowed to relieved herself first…..after all, children aren’t as seasoned as we adults are at holding our bladder mah?

And I realised, from the above incidents, right down to the way Malaysians drive and queue (hahahaha…yea right…), most of us have basically become disciples of “Me, Myself & I“. That nothing is more important than self-preservation. Why worry about the poor and bullied when one can benefit from the down-trodded??? Who cares about ethics and justice???

And it is these sort of ”ugliness” that begot us the sort of leadership we have in power now.  H.L. Mencken once said of democracy, “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.”

And that’s why it’s absolutely “incredible” that someone found guilty of money politics, which by the way is just a rosier term for “CORRUPTION”, and barred from contesting for a post in his political party, is still deemed suitable enough to remain as the Menteri Besar of a state???

In fact our Prime Minister’s only reaction to this scandalous insult to all Malaccans was……..

“He is not sulking but is ready to continue his struggle for the party’s future.”

And how about a certain loud-mouth egg-headed minister (and let’s not forget his equally useless son too) who got a photo of himself (http://www.gutteruncensored.com/2009/03/starring-only-nazri-and-his-son-and.html)  in a very very compromising position with a young chick? If I’m not mistaken, he has yet to outright deny it, only refusing to further comment and is now as quiet as a chicken egg……and yes, he is still in charge of our nation’s legal affaird and judiciary reforms……..what a JOKE!!!

And then we have an ex-minister with a fondness for bad wigs (with so much money at his disposal, why on earth can’t he get a good wig is anybody’s guess!!!) who lost his underpants in the March election last year, but somehow managed to win his party’s presidential post for the 11th time, even though it was by default!!!??? This is despite him being involved in sooo many scandals namely, MAIKA, AIMST, MIED………and of course there’s always the useless offspring and the mysterious death of his sexy secretary to complete the picture……….

The biggest joke would probably be the ex-ex-MB of Selangor with 2 Ms, who thinks the entire nation is suffering from memory lost by promptly boasting about his achievements to prove that he indeed can speak English and was definitely lying thru his teeth during his “I no talk Inglish” incident in Australia………and he’s now touted to be in the lead (by default of course) for the race to the nation’s No.2 position………..

Extract from NST (24th March 2009)

"PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Norza Zakaria, barred from contesting the Umno elections by the party's management committee, said he accepted the decision with an open heart.
The Federal Territory Umno Youth chief, however, said he was disappointed that he could not contest a supreme council seat.........Recently, Norza claimed trial in the Temerloh magistrate's court to two counts of bribery.

He is alleged to have given RM1,500 to Khadri Musa and another RM1,900 to Mohammad Anuar Mohd Yunus at No 38, Pinggiran Tasik, Taman Bandar Temerloh, about 6.30pm on Jan 20.

The money, allegedly handed through Halimi Kamaruzzaman, was to be given to delegates so that they would vote for Norza at the party polls on Thursday.

Norza faces 20 years in jail and a fine of not less than five times the amount of the bribe if found guilty of the offences.

Asked on the status of Puteri chief contender Ida Rahayu Md Noor and Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said who were allegedly linked to money politics, Tengku Adnan said: "Even if the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) takes action later (after the Umno polls), they have to let go of their posts if they are found guilty."

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ABOVE 2 CASES OF MONEY POLITICS AND THAT OF THE MALACCA'S CM, Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam ?????

MACC's chief said the Mohd Ali Rustam's case concerns ethics only while the above 2 cases are 100% similar are classified as "corruption cases".

The conclusions to be drawn from this is your guess is good as mine.

Absolutely right!!Where at some department stores,a video game machine is placed at the children toys section, little kids patiently wait their turn in a queue, that's getting longer. The adult accompanying the child already playing at the machine, does not bother to advise the child,to play just one game and let other kids have their turn.Instead the child who refuses to stop playing and all the adult says to get the kid to leave is 'let's go,or daddy will be late'

Malaysians everywhere,do they really want change,or have they adopted the sentiment,if nobody cares,so why should i.While there are many who make all the effort to teach their children courtesy,to be thoughtful and have good manners, these children will be bullied and it would such a cultural shock for them when they come face to face with society.

Dear All,

I have not written any comment of late. But this is a topic which is very close to my heart. I have seen the above scenarios day in day out in our beloved capital city and Petaling Jaya.

It is unfortunate because people are just to concern about ME,MYSELF & I. I was at Telekoms office in Kelana Jaya to pay my bills. I was there for about 35 minutes. Although the wait was a little longer than usual, I was amused by the OPEN glass door of the Telekoms office.

One bloke walked in and left the glass door ajar (opened). He continued to go behind the door to get his que number. The machine was right behind the open glass door. After getting his number, he just walked right by the open door, not bother to close the glass door. The room air-conditioning was meanwhile escaping into the lobby. I approach this gentleman and asked him why he did not have the courtesy to just push the door closed after him. He was very embarrassed then became aggressive towards me. So I left him alone and went over the close the door on his behalf. He was not happy.

So I decided to sit there for the next 20 minutes and see what happens to the door. My number was called and I let it pass. I wanted to check out the next 20 minutes.

Not even one minute after my number was called, another gentleman came through the glass door in a rush. He too left the door ajar, proceeded to walk around the open glass door to get his que number. I counted 27 people walked through the door without a thought of lifting their hands to just nudge the door close!!! Finally a elderly gentleman came through the door and just slowly push the door close. I clapped my hands in joy and congratulate the elderly gentleman aloud.

My question is have all our people forgotten about how to be courteous?? What are they teaching in school these days?? With the behaviour of the first 27 adults, we can forget about them educating their children!! They themselves are not educated in this manner, so what knowledge will these 27 people have to depart to their children.

So ladies and gentlemen, it is time for you to take a good look at yourself and see if you have given enough time to teach your children to be proper citizens! Education on how to be a good person starts at home. Our government have failed us in this instant, so let us just do the correct things for our own children.

Being courteous, be considerate, be a HUMAN BEING!!!!

Edward C,i'm glad to see someone on the same frequency,as my comment above, felt out of place in comparison with other comments.

I live in a neighbourhood, most with professional jobs and it's simply shocking how they behave.Car parked right in front of your housegate, for hours.you can't drive out and or drive back in.Garbage storage door never closed, garbage bags never tied.I feel sorry for the garbage collectors when they come on their rounds, having to pick the mess.So most of the time i would give them a hand wave in appreciation.

I remember when we drove out of the hospital gates to get onto the main road and a car drove out of a junction without stopping. There were children in that car,and i had my newborn baby [3days old] in my car. What might have happen if we had not seen that car and not jam on the brakes..!!

There are so many more things that have been overlooked, taken for granted. What's worst is people get offended when someone points out their mistake.Very few would apologize, and probably learn from it.One of the very things more important to me is courtesy, consideration, education. We don't have any or enough of it..

"What's worst is people get offended when someone points out their mistake"

imaj, with Malaysians becoming more self-centred and aggressive towards changing for the better, it's really no wonder we have the same sort for our leaders today.......

And after reading Najib's speech, it definitely reinforces my belief that Malaysians will not get an improved government as long as we don't change ourselves and our current bunch of hypocritical leaders. smilies/angry.gif
