'Money politics will ruin Umno'

(NST) - Umno will be ruined if candidates involved in money politics make it into the leadership, said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The former party president and prime minister said the responsibility fell on the delegates to choose the right candidates during the general assembly at the end of this month.

"Though we can't prove it, there are those who are known to use money politics.

"If they elect those who use money politics, that is the end of Umno," he said yesterday.

Should Umno fall, Dr Mahathir stressed that it would also mean "disaster" for the country and Barisan Nasional.

Dr Mahathir also spoke on the political impasse in Perak, saying that both sides of the divide were not being intelligent about the issue.

He said there was too much emotion and politicking and that those involved were not thinking rationally.

"I think both sides are guilty of not making full use of the law properly.

"In all cases, we have to abide by the law. So, study the law and go according to the law.

"If a law is stupid, then change it."

Mamathir, please do not talk rubbish. This country will only prosper if we get rid of all race based parties. On the top of the list is UMNO and UMNOputras. For all your predictions and statesman type of statements, nothing will make me forget that UMNO and the country and what they are today because of you. Let Malaysians decide if what you have done is good or bad! For me nothing good.

Should UMNO fall, it means disaster for BN but not the Country. It will indeed be a good change for the Nation being ruled by the corrupted and incorrigible UMNO for so long!

Ironically, money politics will save our country, because it is a highly addictive poison that UNMO cannot live without. When UNMO eventually die with money politics, our country will be saved !

UMNO is already ruined. What is left of it is what we called REMNANTS...SISA. Just to recap our memory (yang mudah lupa), the collapse started when MM embarked on his much hyped PRIVATISATION or PENSWASTAAN in the early eighties. Soon UMNO will cease to exist and will be remembered in history just like the Malacca Sultanate, a subject lesson for our children. And the two "SULTANS" bestowed as the FATHER OF UMNO's DEMISE is none other than...jeng jeng jeng...TUN MAHATHIR in the blue corner and TUN NAJIB in the red corner.

Dr M called on the delegates to reject those who are involved in money politics or there will be severe repercussions. If that is the case, then thrown all those candidates vying for positions in the party because all of them are involved in money politics in one way or the other. There is no such thing as a clean UMNO politician.

UMNO is not destroyed yet...merely in the winding up mode.... may be another few months...or the next election? Who knows...except those who already knew...the rakyat.
