Raja Petra vows to die in silence if re-arrested PDF Print

Malaysian blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin has vowed to die in silence as a sign of protest if he is re-arrested on what many believe are politically motivated grounds. His pledge came as a court was due to rule whether he is to return to prison under Malaysia’s Internal Security Act (ISA).

Raja Petra, who has risen to prominence as a pro-opposition blogger, was arrested on 12 September after accusations lodged by several religious groups who claim that he offended Islam in an article published on 8 August.

He was released on 7 November last year but the government has appealed the court decision and a verdict is expected on Tuesday.

“I shall no longer open my mouth or utter one word during my detention. I shall maintain the silence of a mute person. I shall not sign any documents of the so many documents that they make you sign when under detention,” he said.

“My signature is not going to be placed on a single shred of paper,” he wrote in his blog, ‘Malaysia Today’ acknowledging that the move could have dire consequences.

”I shall refuse all medical treatment and visits to the hospital. I shall refuse to accept any food and water supplied by the authorities.

“I shall refuse to leave my cell or to meet any of the prison authorities. In short, I shall shut myself out from the world and keep to my own world of my eight feet square cell.

“This action will mean I shall survive at the most seven to eight days,” he added.

Raja Petra blamed deputy prime minister Najib Razak for his arrest and for what he calls his political persecution.

Najib has been among Raja Petra’s main targets in his blog.

In his most controversial article “Let’s Send Altantuya’s Murderers to Hell”, published on 25 April, Raja Petra said that Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, were involved in the killing of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Translator and former model, the Mongolia-born Shaariibuu, 28, was shot twice in the head, and her body was blown up with explosives, in a jungle outside Kuala Lumpur in October, 2006.

“I am totally sure that Najib (Razak) is involved. And at the very least, he should be investigated,” Raja Petra told Adnkronos International (AKI).”

“I am aware that I have raised the stakes with this article and I am prepared to go all the way,” he added.

Najib has denied any involvement in the case and has sworn at a mosque that he never met Shaariibuu. He has also denied any involvement in the arrest of Raja Petra.

The ISA was inherited by Malaysia after it gained independence from Britain in 1957. In essence, it allows for the arrest of any person without the need for trial in certain circumstances.

If you cannot survive in jail, we believe Allah will punish the person who sets you up. This much we believe.

RPK's gambit is twofold: (1) to subtly (not too subtle anyway) threaten the BN controlled court. (2) and IF in the event RPK does die in incarceration, then he would be martyred.

In the first case, the threat may come to nought, simply because BN is desperate and worse; the PM-to-be is more than desperate to get rid of this huge thorn called RPK. And anyway, the BN knows that RPK's supporters are unlikely to take to the streets like the way Anwar's supporters did in 1998. We are less of a threat to the BN, because they know we are pen pushers/keyboard revolutionaries. Secondly, IF RPK dies, then it would be a set back to our goal of seeing a FREE Malaysia. Its only a setback, a temporary thing. There will be someone else who will take his place. BUT RPK's death (IF it does happen) would not have been in vain, because the replacement BN Killer will be more fearsome.

The Judiciary, the Police, the whole system under the UMNO regime is hopeless. Next election we, the rakyaat, vows to kick out this tyrant and "zalim" government. We will kick out the whole lot of those corrupted people in the Judiciary and the PDRM and we will demand that the Altantuya murder case be investigated with Najis and Big Fat Mama as the no. 1 and no. 2 suspects.

That is what we, the rakyaat, vows and promise. . ., and this is what will happen!!

Dear Raja Petra, Marina & kids,
You have our prayers, especially today!
"Ps 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee,
when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the Rock that is higher than I."
Your name 'Petra' also means 'Rock'.
No matter what transpires, Be strong & please DO NOT give up.

* You are too precious! (much loved by so many) You are No Use Dead;
* Your life is Not your own. It is GOD who gave life, & His right to take it (when our time is up), according to HIS will;
* And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.

Like how you may be feeling now, some of us come to "the end of the earth" some time in our lives. That does not give us a right to lay down & die. No! A single parent, I too, have experienced the worst, times you want to give up & say "to hell with everything & everyone". But then, this is life, Petra. If I had ended my life then, my sons won't be around now, & I would've failed the only 2 most important persons whom I lived my life for.

Please RPK, for Marina & kids' sake, for all of us, for Malaysia, Do Not Despair, Be Strong, Fear Not - whatever comes, know that many have lifted their hands to God & prayed for your well-being. No matter what comes, God is in control. Stay close to Him.

RPK, why do you want to do that? Would it not be better to be alive and fight these corrupted leaders? These people wants you dead and you are giving in to them???!! Your going to ISA detention will be enough to get the sleeping, the fence-sitters and the less brave Malaysians to wake up. Please reconsider your decision. We, the majority people of Malaysia, needs you.

RPK your silence is indeed heard loudly
We all will support you and hold our heads highly
As we know there are not many who would be brave to confront
The dreaded and mostly hated national front!!

From the bottom of our hearts we salute your bravery
You have indicated you fight for the Ahmad's, Muthu's, Chin's even Mary
I am somewhat distraught for fear of the unknown
For the tendency in this country is very much "blown"

Fear not for the "army of truth" will see you through this trying times
You have never done anything wrong to even indicate a heinous crime
All Malaysians know who the actual crime boss in this country is
I believe his name would even rhyme with najis!!

Take heed my brave knight even in the battle of yr life
We will be together till the end of this strife
To all readers who read and still manage to contain yr frustration
Be of good cheer for god will show who shall survive this subjugation

RPK –REVOLUTINIZING THE MASSES' MIND

No, no, no. . ., contrary to what people say, it is no Mahashit that change the mindset of Malaysians. It is without doubt RPK.

The ordinary rakyaat now are more brave and are not afraid to question authorities. Gone are the days when the use of intimidation will cause the rakyaat to cower and retreat. Nothing could strike fear in their hearts anymore.

UMNO did not see this coming, they are still relying their Juraisic MSM modes to spin lies and to invoke fear. Thanks to the advent of technology, lies and intimidating statements from the ruling regime by their MSMs are dispeled within minutes of their publication through the internet by the masses. The thing is, unlike the MSMs where lies and intimidation come from one direction, the internet allows the masses to respond to these lies and intimidation on real time. The masses have fought back. . ., the fear is now on the side of the tyrant ruling regime.

Whatever action or inaction the regime took, the masses will take on them at any time of the day. RPKs MT rode this crest of the internet revolution, it is undisputedly the catalyst of changing the mindset of the masses. Cabals in the regime's actions of corruption, bribery, murder and other crimes were striped naked for all to see. . . , exposure after exposure. . ., the fear is now on the side of the tyrant.

In the words of RPK "the hunter is now the hunted"!

RPK will be remembered for revolutionizing the minds of the masses!

Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage;
Minds innocent and quiet take
That for an hermitage;
If I have freedom in my love,
And in my soul am free,
Angels alone that soar above
Enjoy such liberty.
