(The Star) - The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has set up a task force to investigate allegations that an Umno division leader was assaulted by its officers while he was under detention.

MACC said investigations carried out by the special squad from the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya would be monitored by an independent complaints committee set up under Section 15 of the MCAA Act 2009.

The five-member committee would be chosen among non-MACC officers to ensure that investigations would be carried out independently and according to procedures, it said.

“The MACC will not compromise and will come down hard on its officers if the allegations are true. The MACC gives its guarantee that the investigation would be carried out professionally and fairly,” it said in a statement yesterday.

Earlier, the 46-year-old division leader from Maran, Pahang, reported that he was punched in the head, shoulder and stomach during his four-day remand in Kuantan.

He claimed that he was forced to strip naked, lie and roll on the floor besides being asked to do squats and sing the national anthem repeatedly.

In his report, he claimed an officer pressed him against the wall and threatened to arrest his wife and ask her to strip if he refused to confess that he had handed money to Umno members.

He lodged his report at the Damansara police station on Jan 29.

The MACC, in return, lodged a report against the Umno leader for allegedly lodging a false report.

MACC deputy commissioner Datuk Abu Kassim Mohammad had reportedly said that the division leader had threatened to lodge a report to smear MACC’s image before he was released.

It's blatantly obvious that this MACC's raison d'etre is to nab the corrupted UMNO's members. Unfortunately, they are only interested in nabbing the small fries or those that are against the big one. Would they dare to NAB our beloved future PM, Najiib? I doubt so!

We have the ACA, who are perceived to be not "performing"; their independence had been curtailed.
Besides, in the korek-korek case, Jayanthi under oath, said the ACA gave her RM3000 to buy her silence. She took the money. Case closed. WOW.

So AAB set-up MACC - the keyword "Independent" is missing in its name. Same old. Same old.
After the Halimi incident/police report, MACC set-up a Special Squad to investigate the alleged Kuganism by MACC!
If the Special Squad's investigations are unsatisfactory, what is the govt going to set up next?
Set-up a Royal Commission?

Do you see what is wrong with this bn govt? They are effectively incompetent. All the govt does is setting up dis and dat. If the agency failed, set up another agency handling the same functions. If the "2nd agency" screwed-up, set up "special squad". If "special squad" also fail, how? Set up a "royal commission???"... and so on.

Why can't they get it right the first time?

Look at the freaking speed that these hypocrites attend to the problem. So, what's the story with Kugan's murder??? Why does it take so long for action to be taken?

Let the Utterly Moronic Nazi Org. have a taste of its own medicine and see how they like it !! Serves them right. They should have whipped him and thrown him into Kamunting under the ISA ! This ISA detainee, I would approve, and better still if they can find a Yemeni Pendatang to accompany this bum !!

Common sense will tell us that if this UMNO Division Leader alledged that he was assaulted by the MACC Officer while under detention, he should be sent to the hospital for a thorough medical check-up to confirm his allegation.

If you have so many unqualified officers in the MACC from the Chief Commissioner right down to the most junior officer, who have no initiative to decide what to do, no wonder those unrepentent BN corrupted goons just threaten, dare and make fun of the MACC set-up.
