English version”

All Malaysians,

Good day, and with respect, I as a Malaysian civil servant, has the following request for help from all Malaysians of law abiding citizen.  We are nation of more than 50 years independent, and its about time, we all the citizens of Malaysia united and be counted with  sincere effort.  How ?  here is how !   When ever we are asked to fill up a form, whether it is for the government or private sector, we should be only fill up the relevant section, i.e. e.g. name, age, sex, citizen or non citizen, when it ask for our race ?  we all should reply   : “tak penting” (not important), I believe, our federal constitution, did not warrant us to come out with a form that is telling us to come out with question on race, and it is not compulsory in law for us to answer that question.

As such, we as a loving citizen of Malaysia, with progressive thinking and united in mind, we must all together, starting from January 1st 2009, we will only fill in the form of government or private section on “citizen or non-citizen”, we Malaysian  will not fill the section on

bangsa or race”, which is irrelevant, which is non compulsory in constitution or federal law.

This, will be our first step, we citizen get united.  We as Malaysian, feel this is time, we will get united irregardless of what race we are.

As we all know, Malaysia Boleh !   On behalf of all loving Malaysians, I thank you for your time and support and coorperation.

With respect and warmest regards,  Berkhidmat untuk Negara, Service for the nation,

 - Aziz kadir

Dear En Aziz

It will take a herculean effort to teach the Barisan Nasional about unity. They will always divide us in order for them to stay relevant. Do not vote for Barisan Nasional! Unite under Pakatan Rakayt!

I agree generally.
But there are cases where they require specific genuine case where race or ethnic is needed, for example, something to do with assisting or evaluating health problem of Bumiputra in the case of Sabah and Sarawak. Where history of ethnic or family is really needed to be known. If there is requirement for that it should then be made known explicitly to avoid suspicion

Can we also make sure there is no more racist and biased job advertisement or such as 'bumiputera are encourage to apply', 'chinese only', 'Must be able to converse in Mandarin' etc...

I feel the change has began as the good citizens of this country band together to fight for our rights and a clean govt. Around KT town it is so heartwarming to see the Chinese and Indians all campaigning enthusiastically for PAS. We have come a long way - the only way to a successful and stable Malaysia.

shamadz72, what is wrong with "must be able to converse in Mandarin"? If the job demands it, perhaps because the company does a lot of business with China, it can be a reasonable request.

On the other hand, that rule should be applied fairly; in other words, a Chinese applicant who can't speak Mandarin should be rejected in preference of a non-Chinese applicant who can speak Mandarin fluently.

Leeum,

Correctly pointed out. Ability to speak Mandarin is a skill, and could be an advantage to the employer, no different from profficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint,or Must possess valid driving license, etc.Being a bumiputera is NOT a skill, hence should not be a part of the criteria for job application. I also agree with Shamdz72 that 'chinese only' requirement MUST be removed, to get rid of racial discrimination, unless the job vacancy is title "Chinese GRO". Even "pig Butcher' can be a non Muslim.

With all respect, I think it is a good idea just to fill in not important cos from that point of view we can see how many actually support the change.

In the United States, the govt and private companies are now allowed to ask the job applicants to state their race and that's how the Americans have moved away from racial segregation but Malaysia is doing it because the govt wants to maintain its divide and rule policy and promote a one-race supremacy to further its racist's agenda.

I did that but the immigration will not process my Passport. I did that again on a suggestion of a Blogger here many years ago with IC,, NRD will not process my IC.

So after I gor my IC and Passport, I went to do something Not so nice to their Premise. I as tax payers ended up paying for it anyway. Now I just Boycott Petronas, Proton, Kancil, Naza, Star, NSTP, Nanyang, BH, Utusan any UMNO-Bn cronies. Good to see all in credit crisis. Just look at their Balance sheet and Cashflow column. If 10 rakyat million do the same, Regim Ganas Kejam UMNO will Collapse in 2009.

But doing it at NRD and Immiggration everytime and telling the clerk why and what for is a Good Silent civil disobedience and make them feel bad. SHOW DEFIANCE is to Racist Bigot RULES is GOOD.!!

Perhaps they cannot accept Lina Joy type conversion escape strategy in case they need to unite for a cause again? Let see if MT Admin would publish the blogger response or is this conviniently left. If no response to Agama thing then it is a feel good post with an escape clause! Ignore the writer in future!!

Malaysians must fight on many issues and not just political ones. Eg the back seat belt rules - the law says the back seat passengers must buckle up, but the Minister allows so many exceptions. Does the Law allow the Minister to make some of these exceptions. If the Minister makes so many exceptions, it would seem that the Minister is greater than the Law.

If Malaysians do not unite or care about such minor issues, then there will be 2 sets of Laws eg - people can demonstrate against Israel but not Sri Lanka. This is an obvious abuse of power. The Minister is now greater than the law. He has create a law of his own.

Malaysians need a lot of growing up. Please reach out to each other. Do not neglect "small" issues. Do not concentrate only on herioc BIG political issues.

Both "race" and "religion" should not figure on these forms ! We should write "Bangsa Malaysia" in both places.

Dear MP or Adun, can one of you please go to the Karpal Singh or the famous lawyer son, or our good lawyer to find out what is the stand in term of our Malaysian constitution ? can we take the government to court over this issue? ie when we fill up a form whether it is a government (federal or state) or private sector ? first of all, they should not have ask for the question on : race or Bangsa : this is not within our federal constitution, and also it is not against law or within law for us to fill up on race or bangsa.
they can ask, we as citizen of this country, have the federal constitutional right to answer or not to answer, as this is irrelavent, we can choose not to answer, or answer as : tak penting, not important.
We have the constitutional right as a citizen, to refuse to answer, or answer to say this is not important.
Please , lawyer tell us, Please go to Karpal Singh, I trust him a lot.
