Good idea, but why not a Darfur Global Village as well?

Sigh...I suppose the only way to get people to care about Darfur will be to get Israel to bomb the place. After all, it only seems to be a crime if its the Jews who are doing the killing. But if its Muslims killing each other, no one cares.

Don't bring them to my country becos we have enough of our own problems here with the muslim extremist, who broke into the Bar Council dialogue unwelcome.I don't want these Palestinians to join forces with there muslims brother here to steal our beautiful chinese girls.And also,been brought up in a different ways,these Palestinians will come here with bad habits like throwing stones and making rockets.They might team up with Shit Hamid and gangs,to fire these rockets into Singapore,and thus resulting in another conflict which might further drain our coffers.With the Israelis having so much hatred,they might fly their planes over to malaysia and bomb their so called Palestinian Village.Furthermore,the Palestinians, who spent so much time fighting the Israelis and find little time studying,will come here to add to our gov't's burden of educating them.They will over populated our schools,college,universities etc.They will also steal our share of handouts,economic cakes etc.With all these,I say thanks but no thanks! Stay where they are and let the Israelis deal with this unruly pecies. Moreover,this are there problems and they have to solve it themselves.If they don't want to ,then let it be ,fight to their death as they like.Remember, when the Vietnamese refugees,who came in their boats to escape from the fighting in Vietnam,the malaysian gov't ordered the armed forces to 'shoot on sight'when they see them coming over to the east coast.We may never know how many didn't make it to the shores of Kelantan and Trengganu.Some did, but were thrown out to Thailand, Australia and other countries who are more than willing to accept them. I hope they won't step on our land,but if on holiday,I don't mind.

Dear Dr, do you remember what happened sometime ago in Lebanon, Palestinian's village infiltrated by terrorist in their midst and caused a big problem to the Lebanese government and deaths of innocent. If Jordan, Egypt and now Fatah can work out something with Israel why can't Hamas. It is because they think everything in the context of religion and not a struggle for their people and country.

This is the best part. Hamas has rejected a truce proposed by UN. They say that they will continue fighting. It shows clearly that Hamas don't care for the safety and life of the people of Gaza especially children. They don't seem to understand the simple equation that their ideology will simple die-off when there is no one around left to fulfill it. They should accept the cease fire and employ diplomatic means to settle their grievances with Israel, more so when they are clearly not a match with Israel fire power. Hamas leaders should be wise and exercise restraint and patience.

We don't have to worry about Israel because it is heading on a self-destruct mode. The Jews in ancient times were banished from the land of Israel because they had failed to fulfill their obligations to the Al-mighty. Every Jew acknowledges this in his prayers (Umipnei Chatoeinu Golinu Meiartzeinu). They accepted the penalty of exile and were at that time expressed sworn by the Al-mighty not to accelerate their redemption on their own, and especially not to rebel against the nations under whose rule they were found. To the contrary, every Jew is commanded to pray for the peace and well being of the government of which he is the subject.

Through all the years of exile, pious Jews as individuals were attracted to reside in the Holy Land because of its innate holy character and the opportunity it offered for the observance of various precepts bound in the land. Jews as a whole continue to pray that the Al-mighty return his Divine presence to the Land of Israel, by the coming of the Messiah, who will build His Temple, from whence will emanate Divine Wisdom and ultimate spiritual fulfillment of the entire human race.

Through the many years that Jews resided in the Holy Land for this purpose, they enjoyed tranquil and cordial relations with the non-Jewish population there.

The Zionist ideology is antithetical to the Torah. Zionism was deviously designed to replace the Torah and its holy, God-given commandments with nationalistic, power-driven ideals that are devoid of holiness, godliness, or spirituality.

God-fearing Jews believe that the ultimate Redemption of the Jewish Nation will come about only through the Hands of God, and that at the time of the Redemption, peace will reign in the entire world. Any other type of forced redemption is but a sinful transgression, condemned by God and His Holy Torah.

What more proof does one need than the fact that for centuries, Jews have lived peacefully in Arabic countries, enjoying the respect and friendship of their neighbors? The tragedy of Zionism changed all of that. The painful truth is that in the eyes of the Zionist government, Jews are merely the cannon-fodder needed for the State of Israel to achieve its agenda.

Obviously, the State of Israel has absolutely no connection with either Jews or Judaism. A "Palestinian Global Village" is a very fantastically good and excellent idea which is worth discussing and be put into motion.

The UN, Arab and Muslim nations can urge the King of Jordan to contribute a slice of the vast and little inhabited Jordanian territory for this purpose. Or alternatively, President Mubarack of Egypt can give up the Sinai Peninsula to the Palestinians. And of course the development of the physical infra-structure would be paid for by the wealthy Arab rulers with their oil-money and contributions from the Western and Developed countries.

Only then, will there be perpetual peace in that part of the world.

Today, there are several different groups of Palestinians. A large number of Palestinians have migrated to neighbouring countries such as Jordan, Egypt, and Syria. Palestinians are in West Bank under Fatah (more open to peace talks than Hamas). Palestinians in Gaza under Hamas are actually three subgroups: the politicians (the Gaza-based faction led by Ismail Haniyeh), the militants (those fighting against the Israeli army) and the ordinary citizens (displaced from their homes, suffered casualties or deaths). Some among the militant Hamas (the Damascus-based faction led by Khaled Meshal) are believed to be supported by Iran.

Would two or more of these groups agree to live peacefully together in any location inside (or outside) the geographical region traditionally known as Palestine? Who would govern the global village(s)?

Dr Azly, I would suggest either relocation of the refugees or the creation of a Palestine state. Remember the 1922 British Mandate of Palestine and the 1947 UN Partition Plan? Transjordan was supposed to be constituted as an Arab province of Palestine. Since being terminated in 1948, can this be revived to allow the creation of a Palestinian State (once and for all)?

Doctor Azly, this time I actually can understand what you wrote. Thank you. Why should the Americans give any funds to the Palestinians, remember the Palestinians sang and danced on the streets when the World Trade Center was attacked by Osama bin Ladin. Besides, Osama will not approve of Muslims accepting money from infidels. The Americans and other westerners have a proven record of failing to solve the Palestinian problem. This must be solved by Muslims with Muslim resources to have a lasting impact. But do the Muslims close to the issue like the wealthy Saudis, Sheiks from Dubai, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and other wealthy neighboring countries and other oppressive muslim countries really want to solve this problem?
This Palestinian problem has served well for many countries. It wraps itself really nice with the green, white, and black Palestinian flag which might as well be the flag of Muslims or lets hate Israel and USA flag. This flag is the rallying cry of governments to divert and focus the attention of their people to external issues, any issue that has nothing to do with their administration. This flag is a common cause, it unites and saps energy away from local problems. This flag has now penetrated the psyche of Malaysians now, just look around: Did you see the number of Palestinian Flags on Friday. (Did anyone have a problem with this? I didn’t think so. I know several criticized the pictures of Gandhi during the Hindraf march).
Just look at our politicians now, we are all united - PKR, UMNO, MCA making speeches for the Palestinians, Dr M has ideas Khairy leads demonstrations, Nurul talks about the plight of the Palestinians, Teresa is talking about it, school children by the thousands are going to be taught to demonstrate and hate, our college students are at it at full speed.
And yet, we have the ISA, the Indians are worst off than 25 years ago, only Muslims are capable of being Mentri Besar, only a Malay can be Prime Minister. Why are we not demonstrating about corruption. Why aren't we demonstrating for meritocracy? Why aren’t we demonstrating against police brutality? Why aren’t we demonstrating for equal opportunity? You get the point.
Doctor Azly, I am afraid that the global village has the ability to attract the attention of the local samsengs and that is not a good thing.

The seeds of peace will begin once Muslims all over the world reject the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah and get down to setting a realistic non-violent settlement. Even Fatah could be brought to the negotiation table.

Hamas' action in throwing rockets into Israel... how is that a fight for independence? The Israeli troops are out of Gaza since 2005. Hamas also kicked out Fatah from Gaza. Hamas wants to destroy Israel and they are using Palestinian civilians as bargaining tools. What has Hamas done to protect Palestinian civilians from the violence?

Personally, I do not have the time to think for Palestinians who voted in their Hamas TERRORIST Government. The Hamas don't think for their own people, so why the hell should we think for them.

We should be thinking about what is our own Government doing for the country for Malaysians. Here we are in disarray right in our own backyard, and we have a government who wants to put their hands into another country's problem. Solve our problems here before trying to be a HERO!

We are all pained by the suffering of the Palestinians but I doubt what the good doctor precribes will work. There is a reason why there are no huge demonstartions in the West Bank in support of their brothers in the Gaza strip. This is partly because Fatah and Hamas are political enemies but I think also because they are fed up with Hamas's voilent ideology as well. Likewise, no huge demonatrations in Egypt. Very few countries will dare to take in Palestinains. Where they have settled they have caused huge problems. In 1970, they tried to overthrow Hussein in Joradn. They have upset the balance of political forces in Lebanon and caused untold misery to a country that was once the jewel of the Middle East. All these do not excuse Israel who have to face the wrath of a people whose land they have stolen (but they will justify it to say that the UN sanctioned its creation). I think the only long term solution is to let the Palestinains return to Jerusalem, declare Jerusalem an international city and link the West Bank to the Gaza strip to form a cointiguous state. Dr Rahamn's idea will cause consternation to the local population where the Palestinians settle. Worse, the settlers will be untethered to their home land and over a prieod of tiem will lose their emotional ties to Palestine. Then Palestine as a state will become only a memory.

I don't think that the israelis want to waste their time and money on gaza war. They are smart people. That is why they can survive though they are surrounded by 23 arab countries. Will malysian government keep quiet if singapore send some rockets here?
