(Hrkh) - Bekas Perdana Menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed menggesa masyarakat sedunia agar tidak lagi menggunakan matawang Amerika dalam sebarang urusan sebagai kaedah menentang Israel.

"Jangan setakat memulaukan barangan Amerika Syarikat, malah matawang mereka juga mesti dipulaukan. Jangan guna matawang Amerika Syarikat," katanya pada satu sidang akhbar di Yayasan Kepimpinan Perdana di sini, kelmarin.

"Ini kerana, dollar Amerika tiada apa-apa yang disandarkan nilai kepadanya. Dan, alasan matawang itu masih digunakan adalah disebabkan orang-ramai masih menganggapnya sebagai matawang yang bernilai.

"Jika anda berhenti menggunakan matawang Amerika, Amerika tak dapat berdagang dan tidak dapat banyak duit. Dengan ini, negara itu akan terus menjadi miskin dan Amerika akhirnya akan menghentikan penghasilan senjata-senjata," kata beliau.

Tambah beliau, cara ini lebih mudah dan memberikan kesan buruk ke atas Israel.

Bagaimanapun, menurut Dr Mahathir, usaha memulaukan matawang Amerika ini menuntut kerjasama seluruh negara di dunia.

"Tindakan ini tidak terbatas kepada Malaysia sahaja. Ini tidak akan berkesan. Seluruh dunia mesti terlibat. Kerajaan-kerajaan tidak akan bertindak kerana mereka takut kepada Amerika Syarikat.

"Tetapi, orang-ramai mesti bertindak kerana mereka memiliki kapasiti untuk berbuat demikian," tambah beliau.

Ketika ditanya adakah bakal Presiden Amerika, Barack Obama mampu mengubah nasib rakyat Palestin, beliau berkata bakal presiden itu tidak meyakinkannya.

Of Course we have a Choice and that is to Tell Tun Dr. M, that he does not have any moral high ground to suggest that. He is again merely appealing to the Muslim and get their support in a hope that Allah notice his Attempted (MUNAFIK) good deeds near the end of his life. We can ASK the MEGA RICH and Religious ARAB Nation to Set up a UN type Army and Monitor the Peace. Not only in Palstine but also in Afganistan, Somalia, Dafur, Iraq, Kashmir.Surely we have to expect to see what this Billions of Muslim do something humanitarian. But what do we see "PROPORTIONAL Rhetoric", pitiful pictures of faces of babies, mothers screaming and yelling of Pain, some while in the Ambulance the Hamas does some touch up to show so call unfair proportional response to their "harmless" rockets.yes we have many choice to suggest something to be done! The brain washing is like this. Worlds Problems = USA, Isreal. World Solution = Islam! Go Figure their all talk and no action in their own backyard. Why MT keep airing this suggestion really continues to Insult our intelligence. use your OIC and ask all Islamic nation to provide 1000 Soldiers to monitor the Terrorist Hamas. then to Afganistan, then Kashmir, then IRAQ, Sudan etc Surely this type of suggestion should make headlines in MT, what Tun Dr. MUNAFIQ said is USELESS.truly!

Sekarang dia kata pulau wang Amerika. Bila dia bertanggung jawab dia ikut cara tipu Amerika. Bila Amerika cetak wang kertas dan menyebabkan kepupusan nilai wang US yg kesannya dinampak sekarang ini ikut aja. Lagi best, kadar tukar Ringgit lwn Dollar US jatuh macam batu bila dia bertanggung jawab. Masa krisis 1997 dia 'peg' lagi harga Ringgit dengan Dollar US di tahap rendah MYR3.8 - 1USD. Dalam 22 tahun dia, kadar tukar Ringgit-USD jatuh dari 2.2 ke 3.8. Hanya lepas Pak Lah jadi PM baru kadar jadi lebih baik (3.4-3.5 sekarang). Oh, dia memang pandai cetak wang kertas macam Amerika. Wang 'tambahan' dia cetak dia bagi kroni2 dia and guna untuk projek bazir wang. Itu cara dia membawa pembangunan dan Zakaria dapat bina 'istana' dia di Klang. Itu cara dia curi kekayaan setiap rakyat Malaysia secara diam/gelap. Bapa pencuri Malaysia sekarang nak ajar dunia supaya jangan ikut pencuri 'super power' Amerika. Dia ingat kami semua banggang, tak tahu. Banggang dia.

Well. although what you guys say above is correct but the method he propose does have it's own virtue. The crisis there is now deepening. if we change to other currency then the economy there will worsen. But the problem is that they will not really stop the production of firearms. in fact they will do it more because they can then sell those rockets and stuff (to get more money). however, it will also affect malaysia economy BadLY. I for one do not agree with Israel's bombing of Palestine.

Hello my dear MR 'M'.....they are our biggest trading partner.....remember that. And in the first place why are you so concerned about another countries affair....why is Palestine so concerning you.....the people in Africa are dying in famine....why are you not concerned about that....more people died in famine in Africa than in wars in the middle east.....so don't stir racial/ religious sentiments. We Malaysians have had enough of you....so thanks but no thanks. you should just take all the money you made during your 22 years and just spend time with your grandchildren.

This conflict has seen no signs of letting up since 1967.
Ordinary Israels and Palestinians do not want this- at the end of the day both Likud and Hamas are equally mule headed are the cause of this.

One has also got to be consistent when condemming attrocities-

When Mugabe released his wrath on Zimbabweans UMNO remains silent

When Russians invaded Georgia - UMNO remains silent

It seems that UMNO and Dr.M only champion issues where Muslims are involved, palestine, bosnia etc, how then can he appeal to the entire world.

Leaving that aside, boycott is a form of economic violence, we all know violence begets violence.

If you have neither economic nor military clout, dialogue is the only recourse left,
all other pronouncements are empty talk.

Mahathir sent most of his kids to US to study but requested us to stop using US currency to trade.Hello,whether you like it or not,USA is still the preferred choice for migrants,even Malaysia prefers to send its mediocre students to USA for further study.

Stop sending our students to USA if you are against US,send them to Palestine !
